A release of Monster Hunter World for PC is still far away. It’s not expected until autumn. However, the similarly structured Dauntless is already available, and with the Evolving Wilds update, the game really picks up.
The cooperative action RPG Dauntless has received the major “Evolving Wilds” update, which introduces a lot of new features that benefit the title.
With the big “Evolving Wilds” update, the developers of the online action RPG Dauntless bring a lot of new content to the game. Things that players have been longing for and that enhance the entire game. This includes even more exciting encounters with the Behemoths and exploration of the game world is now rewarded.
A lot of improvements for Dauntless – now also in German
With the current major update, you can look forward to a lot of improvements:
Reworked Axe Mechanics: Swinging an axe now causes more damage, but it also carries more risk, as you can be hit while swinging the weapon.
New Warfork: After defeating Behemoths, you can craft powerful warforks from resources found on their bodies.
Improved encounters with Behemoths: Shrike, Skraev, and Moonreaver Behemoths now provide new challenges, making the fights more exciting. Next, the creatures Embermane, Quillshot, and more will be revamped.
German as a new language: Dauntless is now also playable in Spanish, Italian, French, and Brazilian Portuguese.
New interesting locations with rewards: Exploring the game world is now rewarded.
New tutorial: The entry point has been improved.
Performance improvements: Especially in the hub city Ramsgate, but also during hunts, the game runs smoother.
With this big update, Dauntless is now significantly more fun, and the fans are reacting very positively to the changes.
Dauntless is currently on its way to open beta and represents a competition to Monster Hunter World.
Death has little impact on the character’s body in most MMORPGs, not so in Crowfall.
In MMORPGs, much fighting takes place – also in Crowfall. Those who fall in a battle can either hope that a group member revives them or they must search for their corpse to stand up again right there. As known from other MMOs. In Crowfall, you also have the option to look for a new “vessel”, a new body.
Just don’t lose your head!
Usually, you grow fond of your body, as it is built the way you wanted and plays well. Still, it is possible to completely lose it. If an enemy defeats you in Crowfall and beheads you, there is no way for you to regain that body.
It is lost forever. This means you have to search for a new vessel for your immortal soul.
Keep heads as trophies
Beheading is a serious matter in Crowfall. The executioner needs an axe and some time. Since the axe is actually a harvesting tool, the player must be out of combat.
Small bonus for the executor: You can keep the enemy’s skull as a trophy.
Pay attention in the battles, otherwise you’ll need a new body
From the perspective of the beheaded, this is not so funny. They have to find a new vessel.
With the option to behead other players and thus take their body, the battles become even more exciting. Because every lost confrontation can mean that you have to search for a new body.
They are rare, but the finder can rejoice over all kinds of stuff, including 1,500 resources. How to find the loot llamas in Fortnite: Battle Royale, what else is inside?
With the last update, not only have the remote detonations made it to Fortnite: Battle Royale, but the loot llamas have also been added. The llamas function as loot boxes in the PvE component of the game, Save the World, from which a variety of items can drop.
The implementation of the loot llamas may seem strange since there are already supply drops that can drop the best weapons. However, the loot llamas actually serve a different purpose than the coveted supply drops.
Loot llamas in Fortnite: Battle Royale – what’s inside
If you are lucky enough to stumble upon a loot llama, you can be happy as they drop a variety of items when opened:
500 wood
500 stone
500 metal
Healing items
Grenades
You will not find weapons in the loot llamas, as that would make the supply drops obsolete. All healing items can tumble out of the loot llama, and all grenades are possible. As a bonus, you get 1,500 resources and more ammunition than you can carry, including 20 rockets.
Since you cannot find a weapon in the loot llamas, this is not much help right after landing. The llamas are the perfect support for the mid-/endgame. Just the resources alone are enough for a strong fortress.
But where can you find the loot llamas? Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as it is (as so often).
How to find the loot llamas in Fortnite: Battle Royale
The loot llamas are extremely rare and only sparsely located on the Fortnite: Battle Royale map. Exact numbers are unknown, but it is rumored that there are only three of these llamas in a round, which would indeed be very rare.
Also, the locations of the llamas are completely random, right? Again, there are only rumors suggesting that the llamas appear exactly at the edge of the first safe zone. Even if this rumor is true, three llamas spread out in a line are still hard to find (especially since the radius of this circle is too large to search).
You are mainly dependent on your luck to find the loot llama. However, keep in mind that opening a loot llama takes significantly longer than opening a treasure chest:

Should pineapple be a pizza topping is an age-old question of humanity. World of Warcraft finally provides a clear answer.
Among gamers of World of Warcraft there are plenty of conflicts. Alliance or Horde? Mythic+ or Raids? PvP or PvE? But one question unites all gamers worldwide and is culinary in nature: Does pineapple belong on pizza?
For years, the question has been a template for countless memes on the internet. While some considered pineapple pizza to be “pretty sick,” for many others it was a glorious combination of fruity flavor and savory cheese topping.
A topic that one might think is rather unimportant for World of Warcraft, right?
The developers of World of Warcraft seemed to have viewed this differently and apparently also chose a side. This is likely to hit all supporters of Hawaiian pizza hard.
Because the pineapple pizza is a consumable item in Battle for Azeroth that (presumably) cooks can craft.
Most cooking recipes count as “Buffood,” restoring health points and mana when consumed, and granting a buff spell for one hour. Not so with the pineapple pizza. Its description reads differently:
“Pineapple Pizza: Does not restore health and reduces stamina by 5% for 30 seconds.” And along with the description as flavor text “Simply terrible.” Thus, the pineapple pizza is likely the first “Buffood” that debuffs the player.
Which side of the pizza are you on? And what do you think about WoW incorporating such gags from the real world? Does it disrupt your immersion, or is it good for a little laugh?

Do you love your Warlocks? Do you enjoy using swords? Then this guide is exactly what you need. Because this way, your Warlock will learn sword surfing and become an overpowering PvP monster in Destiny 2.
Are you a proud Warlock who has always had a penchant for swords in Destiny 2? Do you particularly enjoy PvP? Then these are the best conditions to learn how to sword surf.
This technique is rapidly gaining popularity and was even recognized on Reddit as a particularly valuable contribution. Because with this method, your Warlock becomes a feared killing instrument in the Crucible.
How to Learn Sword Surfing as a Warlock in Destiny 2
Sword surfing embodies a movement method that makes your Warlock extremely mobile and agile thanks to a sword – even in the sluggish PvP of Destiny 2.
Why Sword Surfing?
This way, you can cover large distances in no time and react lightning-fast to threats and actions from your opponents with little practice. Moreover, you compensate for the only weak point of swords. While they are absolutely deadly in close combat, you first have to bridge the distance to the opponent. However, with this technique, you can put yourself in the right range in a matter of seconds and eliminate your opponent or entire groups with ease.
This movement method is currently by far the fastest available in Destiny 2 and is excellent for causing frustration and confusion among the enemy ranks. Only on a Sparrow are you faster.
Furthermore, swords represent the currently most efficient power weapon category in the Crucible, alongside rocket launchers. They have the largest ammo reserves of all power weapons and allow skilled players to easily get multiple kills.
And soon, sword surfing will be even more effective: The upcoming changes to Guardian movement speed and power ammo in the Crucible will massively favor this play style.
Your Warlock Needs the Following
Basically, any Warlock subclass is suitable for surfing. Also, the type of glide you have chosen doesn’t really matter. Only the teleport jump Blink cannot be used for this play style.
The Voidwalker with the Hunger alignment is very well suited for this melee-heavy play style.
However, the Dawnblade with the Celestial alignment is ideal. This way, you gain additional evasion and movement options as a Warlock and become absolutely unpredictable in your movement.
The Stormcaller focus benefits the least. While a Stormcaller Warlock can also easily sword surf and eliminate opponents, they cannot rely on any valuable synergies.
To allow your Warlock to surf through enemy ranks with their sword, they need the following:
A sword – preferably with high ammo capacity
Power ammo
Once you have everything ready, your Warlock is set to surf.
How to Surf Properly
If you initially need (or still need) practice, it’s best to do this in PvE at first. Here, you can stock up on power ammo at the banners for public events and also try out or perfect your movements at your leisure. Once you feel confident enough, it is advisable to continue your training in PvP.
This is how sword surfing works:
You start with a simple jump – preferably moving forward. The important part is that you do not trigger a double jump and thus do not glide. A simple hop is enough.
At the apex of the jump, perform a light sword attack to maintain momentum. It’s essential that you do not perform a heavy sword attack.
Immediately after the sword attack, press the jump button again. This triggers the glide and extends the momentum. This way, you’ll make a significant leap forward.
Once you land on the ground, repeat the process. This will henceforth be your basic movement.
Once you master this basic movement, you can use evasion and incorporate quick turns to perfect your agility and initiate direction changes effectively and timely.
Once you confidently control the movement, you can dive into Guardian duels and practice directly “on the player” there.
Here’s what you should keep in mind:
Once you decide on a direction, you are bound to it until you land on the ground. This happens relatively quickly, but you may also find yourself maneuvering into a wall or other obstacles more often at the beginning. Therefore, you should perform evasion movements and quick turns between the surf moves. Practice and map knowledge are your best friends.
Be careful not to initiate the surf movement going uphill. You only have forward momentum. As soon as you touch the ground, the movement is over. Trying to work your way up an incline this way is merely wasteful of ammunition and provides no advantages in movement. This method should primarily be used on flat ground or downhill.
With a bit of practice, this movement method is quickly internalized and grants you significant advantages in PvP. After a few training rounds in the Crucible, you should be able to slice through enemy ranks like a hot knife through butter.

What do you think of sword surfing with the Warlock? Has your interest been piqued? Or is this not for you?
What can we expect in the future of The Division? Here are our 7 biggest wishes for the sequel The Division 2.
The Division and the community have had a turbulent time, with many ups and downs. Now, after two years, a sequel has been announced, while the first installment is better than ever. The Division has undergone a transformation, starting with the record release, followed by balance issues, bugs, glitches, cheaters, hackers, and a dwindling player base.
Massive pulled the emergency brake, completely overhauling the game together with the community. With update 1.8 at the latest, The Division made a comeback.
After the announcement of a sequel, the question now is: What should The Division 2 look like? Here are our wishes for The Division 2.
1. Optimize the loot system!
The loot system in The Division has undergone some changes. While high-end loot was extremely rare at the beginning, it is now thrown at you. Gear sets were also easy to complete and did not provide long-term motivation.
Later, exotic gear and secret gear sets followed, making farming desirable for some again. Nevertheless, many players felt overwhelmed by useless loot.
Massive can address this by:
optimizing the balance of the gear sets. Typically, 3-4 sets dominate the game, while there are significantly more. Massive would need to put more effort into developing the set bonuses.
upgrading the talents of high-end and exotic gear. Although secret gear sets represent the best possible equipment, high-end and exotic gear should not be so much weaker than they currently are. An upgrade here is possible.
revising weapon talents. Currently, not even half of the 21 talents are relevant. Even unique, exotic weapons are generally quite weak. This makes it less motivating to farm them. Adjustments should also be made here.
All this assuming these elements are present in The Division 2 again.
One idea already voiced by agents: Exotic mods. For both weapons and gear. These would be a great way to introduce interesting bonuses into the game and allow new builds. One could set a limit of 1-2 mods to prevent them from becoming too overpowering.
2. Separate the gear for PvE and PvP, make the Dark Zone even more dynamic with events
The biggest problem of the Dark Zone has always been balancing. The following things should be addressed by developers:
Split gear in PvP and PvE: Each gear set should have different stats/attributes for PvP and PvE. This way, balancing for both areas could be optimized separately.
Revise the current Rogue 2.0: Many players are unhappy with the current system. Hunter groups have recently found it particularly difficult, and players feel disadvantaged.
New worthwhile events: With supply drops and contamination events, a step in the right direction has already been made. However, there is still much room for improvement. New, more dynamic events would make the Dark Zone interesting again. How about a particularly strong boss that can randomly spawn everywhere and has a high chance of good loot?
Many players demand a pure PvE Dark Zone. In our opinion, that would not be the right way. After all, the thrill of potentially encountering other players at any moment makes the Dark Zone so interesting. Introducing a PvE DZ would, however, make the PvP variant unnecessary or even destroy it.
After all, people would only revert to the PvE variant for farming, only to clash heads on the PvP servers. However, there are already proper PvP modes with Last Stand and Skirmish.
3. Give us a more dynamic and vibrant open world
Massive has put incredible effort into designing the game world. The level of detail is outstanding and creates a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, it then fell short of filling it with life.
To achieve this, one could
fill the game world with more diverse civilians and animals (it still has to fit the apocalyptic scenario)
but they should show less generic AI behavior
bring dynamic weather, or even seasonal changes into the game
allow more options for interaction with NPCs
make mission design more dynamic, incorporating more surprising moments
make more buildings accessible
place more and stronger enemies, it should not be a pure walk in the park
Important: Let us meet other players in the open world! Interacting with other players outside of safe houses would make the game world more believable. After all, The Division is an online game and you are part of a division consisting of many agents!
Other players would lend greater dynamism to the open world. Of course, every player should have the option to roam the streets alone.
The open world could thus become a genuine alternative to the Dark Zone.
4. Make something out of the location, whether it stays in New York or goes elsewhere
It will be crucial how The Division 2 deals with the existing location and the story of The Division 1. There are several possibilities.
New York, but not in winter anymore
New York still has a lot of potential, but we only wish that The Division stays in New York under certain conditions:
New districts: Many players were left waiting in The Division for additional districts. Only the West Side Pier and 3 Dark Zone areas adjacent to Central Park were added retroactively. There are still large parts of the city waiting for agents.
A different season: This is definitely necessary. The Division looks great, but most agents must be getting tired of the blizzards after 2 years.
A new city
Massive would have plenty of options here because any major city could easily serve as a backdrop for a good story. A fascinating thought experiment would be Berlin.
After the detailed Manhattan, one can almost expect that any new scenario from Massive will look impressive as well.
We will have to be surprised. Either way, we are optimistic that we need not worry about the setting. One must wait for further information from E3.
5. Continue the story from The Division: What happens next with the SHD?
The Division cannot boast a particularly exciting campaign. The characters were mostly boring, apathetic, and only means to an end.
Aaron Keener, the main antagonist and rogue First Wave agent, was an exception. However, he vanished without a trace. Aside from a mocking message and later some audio logs at the West Side Pier, no trace was found.
We hope that unanswered questions will be cleared up and that generally more attention will be paid to character portrayal. Because however boring the presentation was, The Division still delivers exciting stories.
If a scenario change occurs, questions arise such as: Has the virus spread? Is The Division 2 set after the first part, or perhaps even years later?
Massive has a good foundation for an exciting story here and hopefully now the experience to tell it more compellingly.
6. Expand on the RPG elements!
The Division is a shooter with RPG elements. There are specific skills, passive talents, and the particularly strong links that only work temporarily. Everything gets unlocked by expanding the base.
This is where one could start and expand the game:
More areas for the wings
more abilities
more passive talents
New skills could thus find their way into the game. Ideas could be
Drones, that could have various functions
Body armor, that temporarily provides more protection against damage
Claymores and shock traps, like those already used by enemy snipers
This would give players additional opportunities for cool builds. It would also be important to revise existing talents and make them useful. Currently, very few are truly usable, while a handful of talents appear in nearly every build.
7. Take care of these details
Additional mechanics that we wish for:
Upgrade pistols: Pistols were more of a nice accessory in The Division rather than truly useful. That should change. They should deal significantly more damage but not have unlimited ammunition.
New weapon types: Melee weapons, flamethrowers, grenade launchers. There are some weapon types that are already used by enemies but strangely are not available to agents. That could be changed.
Stealth mode: A kind of stealth kill was already seen in early presentations. A proper stealth system would freshen up the gameplay and could add variety to the missions. Crouching, crawling, sneaking. That would be fun!
Companions: Already present in some games, an idea for The Division 2: a companion in the shape of a dog. There is already a dog unit in the current operations base, so why not take a four-legged friend on agent tours? This could pick up medkits from the street and also be useful in combat.
Raids: These were already being discussed for The Division 1, and we hope even more that real raids will make their way into The Division 2.
This is just part of many other wishes. We hope that Massive carefully listens to the fans’ wishes.
What are your hopes for The Division 2? Do you have further cool ideas? Let us know.
The MMORPG Otherland is based on the science fiction novel series of the same name by author Tad Williams, but it hasn’t been received well by players. However, an expansion into cyberspace is on the way.
Otherland refers to a cyberspace where the people of the future live. Here they explore the fantasy world 8Squared, the cyberpunk-inspired Bad Sector, the 5Isle based on Chinese mythology, the jungle of Bug World, and the steampunk planet Mars, experiencing exciting adventures. Through the hub Lambda Mall, users can access any location in cyberspace.
Explore the Cyberspace
Otherland offers you the opportunity to explore this cyberspace and experience adventures together with other players:
Create your hero from four classes and eight “roles”
The focus is on PvE, while PvP takes place in special battlefields
Seven cyberspace worlds to explore
Group dungeons
ClanLands for clans
Crafting that improves the attributes of your equipment
An expansion of the MMORPG has been announced with “Fire Isle.” Starting this summer, you’ll explore a new area where you’ll experience a story revolving around a civil war, in which you must defeat the Celestial Dragon and find the true ruler of the Fire Isle. You will complete 60 quests in ten new areas.
Otherland is simply not granted success
The Free2Play MMORPG Otherland has a tumultuous history. The game was initially in development by RealU and gamigo, but in 2013, RealU filed for bankruptcy, and the work was halted.
The Polish studio Drago Entertainment took over the project and has continued it since then. However, players on Steam are not too enthusiastic. The reviews are “mostly negative,” and according to Steamcharts, there are only an average of 4 players online at the same time. Numerous bugs, poor performance, and connection issues have been criticized.
However, in 2018, Otherland has seen an upward trend on Steam. In 2017, the situation looked bleaker than it does now. Perhaps the expansion will bring the success.
In Fortnite, there are big content patches every week with new modes. The Battle Royale has been developed from the ground up in just 2 months. Now, it is rapidly coming to mobile with iOS and Android. We ask: Why is everything happening so quickly there?
Fortnite virtually failed as a co-op shooter in the summer of 2017. But then Epic launched a battle royale mode just 2 months after the start of “Save the World”. With that, they overtook the competitor PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, also because they reached the 75 million PlayStation 4 consoles that are in living rooms around the world.
Now Epic has pulled off the next stunt in record time and “just” ported Fortnite to mobile devices. And it’s the actual game itself – not a reduced mobile version. A stunt that was unexpected.
And all of this happened alongside the release of new content every week in the form of Limited Time Modes, new weapons and skins. Furthermore, Epic reacts in record time to fan feedback, solves bugs within hours, and maintains an incredible pace overall.
Considering how long ports to new platforms, new modes, or game content take for other games, even for those from renowned studios, one must ask: Why the hell is it all happening so damn fast with Fortnite?
We found three reasons.
Reason 1: “The Good Mood Reason” – We are just great
The marketing reason is mentioned by Epic’s Creative Director, Donald Mustard, in an interview with the US site Forbes when asked why Epic is able to do all of this so quickly.
Mustard states: “A really fantastic team, a company, and an engine. We understand what opportunity we have here and we are fully committed to it. We want to give everything we can to make Fortnite as beautiful and as fun as possible for everyone who plays it. We want to rewrite the rules of what a game can be.”
This is Epic’s good mood response: We just want to!
But let’s look deeper.
Reason 2: “It was all planned” – Epic wanted a hit
Another answer comes from the US magazine Polygon. They tell of a meeting last year with Epic developers when the co-op shooter Fortnite was previewed to journalists. At that time, Epic said: “This isn’t our first rodeo. It’s not even our second. Yes, it could be that it’s not even our third rodeo.”
Polygon states that the atmosphere during the meeting was such that Epic firmly believed in Fortnite’s success. Although the game did not convince journalists. But the studio was incredibly eager for a hit.
While Epic had enormous success with the Gears of War series on the Xbox 360, they had been trying for years to hit the next hype wave and capture a trend that would explode.
They had several irons in the fire:
With Fortnite, they originally wanted to catch the Minecraft wave
With Unreal Tournament, they aimed for eSports
And Paragon was intended to catch the wave of Dota 2 and League of Legends
When they recognized the opportunity to jump on the battle royale wave, they seized it and went all in.
Model: Destiny as a Lifestyle Game, but even more lively
With Fortnite: Battle Royale, Epic benefits from how they originally designed the PvE game Fortnite. It was not planned as a rigid game but as a changing, living game.
They explained this to journalists by referencing Destiny.
Polygon also quotes Mustard: “Destiny is a very living product. When you look at Destiny, it’s technically not free-to-play, but it’s designed that way. Everything is robust and can be continuously developed. It has a rhythm, a cadence, that is much more lively than a traditional game. We have those systems too, and ours are even more robust than Destiny’s.”
Fortnite was thus already designed to be rapidly developed – and as a battle royale game, it could achieve this success that the PvE game Fortnite was not allowed to experience.
But how exactly did Fortnite create these foundations?
Reason 3: The Engine
The biggest technical advantage Epic has is clearly the Unreal Engine used. It is developed by Epic itself.
While other “Triple-A” titles can only manage half-hearted mobile ports with their engines that take years, the flexibility of the Unreal Engine is remarkable.
Because the Unreal Engine was designed for mobile from the beginning.
Polygon knows that Epic has been working with the developers of the hit mobile series “Infinity Blade” on their games for years to adapt the Unreal Engine for mobile. Therefore, the engine inherently has the capability to support iOS and Android.
The flexibility of the engine can be fully exploited by Epic. This gives Epic and Fortnite an almost unfair market advantage.
Observers believe that Epic can penetrate regions with Fortnite through this enormous speed and flexibility that are unreachable for other games. The last game driven up by a young audience like this was Minecraft.
With a detour, Fortnite can indeed emulate the game it originally aimed to rise alongside.

The game actually costs €69.99 in the Microsoft Store. However, with the Xbox Game Pass, you can play the game much cheaper or even for free. The Game Pass is a subscription that costs €10 per month. As a customer of this service, you can play Sea of Thieves at no additional cost.
You can also test the Xbox Game Pass for 14 days for free and thus get a taste of Sea of Thieves for free.
If you’re struggling with the decision to buy an Xbox, you now have a very special offer through Sea of Thieves. However, this is only valid until Monday (March 19) at 09:00:
The pirate adventure comes from Windows and therefore also runs through the Windows Store. There, you unlock the game with the code (or buy it) and can also install it there.
There is no Steam version of Sea of Thieves. You can determine the quality in which Sea of Thieves runs on your system using the following graphic:
Crossplay on PC and Xbox
A major advantage of Sea of Thieves is its implementation for PC and Xbox. It works well on both platforms and is easy to control.
Additionally, there is the crossplay bonus: You can play together with your friends, regardless of whether they are on PC or Xbox One. Even PC and Xbox combinations are possible.
Play Alone or with Your Crew
In Sea of Thieves, you can decide whether to set sail alone or with up to three other players. However, it is harder to stand up against groups of players alone.
Those who play solo must always be on their guard and might prefer stealth tactics instead of confronting large ships in direct duels. You can secretly sneak aboard another ship and steal their loot or place barrels of gunpowder for an explosive surprise.
Those who prefer to play in a group have various options. If you want, you can invite your friends to a joint session and make them part of the crew. However, there is also the option to sign up alone (or with friends) for group search and then be matched with random players to form a crew.
In a Group, Communication is Key
Communication is an important aspect in Sea of Thieves. On one hand, this is important for task allocation on the ship. Someone must take the helm, while others adjust the sails or keep an eye out for islands and enemies. A microphone is indeed a big advantage here.
But don’t worry, those who prefer not to talk to others over the internet can also rely on the many preset sentences that can be posted in the chat via hotkey. This allows you to communicate important information like “Enemy spotted” or “Drop anchor” even without your voice.
This is also important in battle situations. If you encounter enemies who are shooting holes in your ship with their cannons, you will need to patch up below deck. But if you don’t communicate, then every player is below deck, and no one is steering the ship or firing back. Communication is essential.
On March 27, the update 1.1.4 for Destiny 2 will be released. This will bring, among many other changes, exclusive Nightfall strike loot. Bungie wants to know now: Do you want a preview of the exclusive Nightfall rewards or do you want to be surprised?
The next update milestone for Destiny 2 is approaching rapidly. On March 27, the update 1.1.4 will reorder many things. The PvP will be fundamentally revised. There will also be significant changes to the sandbox – the balance of classes and weapons will be altered in many aspects.
Another long-awaited feature will also be introduced in the next update: the exclusive Nightfall rewards.
In this context, Bungie now wants to know from players:
Do you want a preview of the exclusive Nightfall rewards?
Strike-specific weapon in Destiny 1
The exclusive rewards are intended to provide Guardians with an additional incentive to complete the Nightfall strike. Each strike is supposed to have its own thematically inspired loot that can only drop after successfully completing the Nightfall strike.
A similar approach was already taken by the predecessor title. There were a variety of unique, themed weapons and armor pieces in the form of strike-specific loot that could only be obtained by successfully completing strikes. This feature was highly popular in the first part of the Destiny series.
In light of the upcoming update 1.1.4, Bungie’s Community Manager dmg04 has raised the question in the official Bungie forum (link to the post) of whether Guardians would like a timely preview of the exclusive Nightfall rewards or if they would rather be surprised and discover the loot for themselves starting March 27.
Strike-specific armor piece in Destiny 1
The feedback from players has been divided so far. Many would like to discover the exclusive rewards for themselves, while others would prefer at least a small sample of the upcoming Nightfall loot offerings.
What do you think about it? Would you rather be surprised? Or would you like to see at least some exclusive items in advance to get a better idea of what players can expect at the end of March?
Many players wonder which weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale is the most sought after and the highest rated. Often, the legendary SCAR is mentioned, also referred to as “the golden SCAR.” But is that true? Is there even a best weapon in the game?
In every game, there are tools that do their job easier than others. But how do you recognize them? Pure statistics provide no insight into the behavior of a particular weapon.
A rarity scheme gained popularity with Diablo 2 and World of Warcraft, visualizing the rarity and strength of an item based on colors. With this tier system, game developers could hit two birds with one stone:
The color of a weapon directly indicates whether it is better or worse than your own weapon.
At the same time, it stimulates players’ collection instincts to always want to find the best.
By now, the color “Orange” has established itself as the ultimate standard (apart from a few outliers). It symbolizes the legendary stuff that is better than anything else.
Weapon rarity as an example from Borderlands 1
When we search for the best weapon in Fortnite, nothing beats the legendary (orange) quality or rarity. But which weapon is the best?
Hype around the golden Scar in Fortnite
In the community, the legendary SCAR, an assault rifle, often appears when discussing the best weapon. It is also referred to as the golden Scar.
The weapon is somewhat the object of desire for players in Fortnite: Those who loot it early hit the jackpot. The golden Scar is the weapon that comes closest to being a “signature weapon” in Fortnite, meaning a weapon that becomes closely associated with the player.
People go to a shooting range just to try out a SCAR in real life (via YouTube).
And generally, it is something special when a golden SCAR is found. You feel good about it.
What the legendary SCAR can do in Fortnite: Battle Royale
The legendary assault rifle, named SCAR after its real-world counterpart, fires medium ammunition and has a magazine capacity of 30 rounds. On paper, the legendary SCAR differs only slightly from the simplest variant, the common assault rifle:

The legendary variant of the assault rifle delivers a significant amount of damage. However, its popularity has other reasons that weapon statistics don’t reveal. The legendary SCAR is a true laser and doesn’t sway even a millimeter.
The standard assault rifle in Fortnite
If Fortnite: Battle Royale didn’t have a Bloom mechanic, one would have to describe the SCAR as nearly unfair. But do statistics and handling make the SCAR the best weapon? We answer this with a clear no! Because as always, it depends on the situation you find yourself in.
Why there is not one “best weapon” in Fortnite: Battle Royale
Depending on the combat situation, one weapon or another may be a better choice. If you face your opponent face to face, they will take you down faster with a tactical shotgun or submachine gun.
In such situations, even with a legendary SCAR, you have few chances. The best weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale must be able to prove itself useful in many different situations.
At medium range, the SCAR is unmatched. In fact, there is only one weapon that can be used universally: the rocket launcher. You can not only incinerate enemy fortifications but also push opponents and fire from a higher position.
The damage of the legendary variant is brutal. Those who have many rockets can literally shower their opponents with bullets.
Ironically, it is not the legendary rocket launcher that is the rarest weapon in the game but the epic variant (purple). This is because supply drops always come with one legendary weapon.
Can a weapon be the best in the game if it is unrealistic to find it at all? A blue bolt-action sniper rifle is significantly more common – and additionally has the potential to take out opponents with one shot.
However, you first need to hit critically. Not an easy task with moving opponents. With a rocket launcher, you just need to fire the weapon in the general direction of your opponents.
To draw a legendary rocket launcher from a treasure chest, you need a lot of luck – the drop chance is only 0.032%, which is extremely low. A legendary SCAR, on the other hand, drops ten times more frequently, at 0.324%.
The question of the best weapon is always dependent on perspective:
Those who want to take out opponents from long distances will likely consider the sniper rifle the best weapon
For medium ranges, the legendary SCAR is undoubtedly the king
For close combat, an epic shotgun or submachine gun could even be considered the ultimate choice
Only the rocket launcher can somehow function from all positions. As it is so rare, it essentially plays no major role. The impossible determination of one super weapon proves at least one thing: Epic has succeeded in achieving the right weapon balancing!
Which weapon is your favorite and why?

In an inconspicuous aside, World of Warcraft Game Director Ion Hazzikostas confirmed what many players suspected: In Battle for Azeroth, the Kul’Tiran Humans come alongside the Mag’har Orcs as an allied race!
The next expansion for World of Warcraft, Battle for Azeroth, revolves around the allied races. They are the centerpiece of the expansion. How the new races join the factions is “the story of the expansion.”
In the last Q&A with Community Manager Josh Allen and Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, Hazzikostas made exactly this statement. In a somewhat easy-to-overlook aside, he confirmed the highly anticipated Kul’Tiran race for the Alliance alongside the Mag’har Orcs for the Horde!
Some might wonder what is so special about brown Orcs and Humans with sturdy bones. Ion Hazzikostas also answers this question with exactly the thought: nothing.
The allied races in Battle for Azeroth are not meant to be “better” or “cooler” than the main races of the game. They are simply meant to offer an alternative, be different, and give players the opportunity to customize their characters.
However, the new races play a much bigger role than just being “new”. The currently playable new races have their own racial bonuses and class combinations. And at least from the Kul’Tiran, it is already known and confirmed that they can become Druids.
In many ways, the allied races are already more than just an extension of the choice. They are complete races with their own advantages and disadvantages. The fact that they bring alternation to character selection is a side effect.
However, much more important than their gameplay aspect is their story. Everything revolves around them in Battle for Azeroth. The story that the new expansion will tell leads the races to the corresponding factions.
Their background is the story we can experience in the new expansion. If it makes sense during the course of the narrative for a race to join a faction, that is exactly what will happen, according to Hazzikostas. They are the biggest new feature of Battle for Azeroth.
After Pokémon GO, the AR game The Walking Dead: Our World (iOS, Android) could attract fans back to the streets. Instead of cute monsters, you will encounter creepy zombies.
The next The Walking Dead game from AMC will infect your immediate neighborhood with nasty zombies. The game uses data from Google Maps to accurately depict your surroundings.
The Walking Dead: Our World comes from Finnish developer Next Games and is expected in Spring or Summer 2018. There is currently no exact release date. It supports iOS and Android.
The Walking Dead AR
Your location plays an important role in this AR game, as the zombies appear right near you. With your phone in hand, you can search the ground in front of you for footprints and thus encounter new companions.
Familiar characters from the series such as Rick, Daryl, and Michonne fight by your side. To defeat the walkers, you have access to weapons such as Uzis or sniper rifles. A trailer also shows a crossbow.
Parks, streets, gardens, and even your own living room can be besieged by zombies with this game.

“Through Google Maps, we always have the latest location data for new buildings or streets in our game. This creates an immersive experience tied to the player’s location. With the unparalleled amount of location data from Google Maps, breathtaking experiences will be offered at famous places, businesses, or buildings like the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, the London Eye, Burj Khalifa, and India Gate,” explains Next Games CEO Teemu Huuhtanen.
That AR games have great potential and a massive fan base was already shown by Pokémon GO, which still captivates players nearly two years after its release.
World of Warcraft was not the first MMORPG. Blizzard did with WoW what the game company does with many genres: It took the best elements from the successful representatives of the genre and created something of its own. But that also means that there were MMORPGs before WoW. We introduce you to the 7 biggest ones.
Today we present to you the biggest online role-playing games that were played before the release of World of Warcraft.
Meridian 59
One of the fathers of MMORPGs was released in 1996 and already offered a 3D game environment in which players explored a persistent world. While the world was presented in – for today’s standards – a relatively detail-poor 3D, the engine rendered characters and monsters as 2D sprites.
Your hero could learn abilities from different schools. These included weapon skills, defense, various spells, and bard powers. Each server hosted 250 players who set off on monster hunts together or completed rudimentary quests in the style of “Kill X Monsters.” PvP was also possible. In battles, the defeated could even lose all of their possessions.
In 2009, the official operation of the MMO was discontinued. In the meantime, Meridian 59 is available again and can be played for free.

Interested in a new old MMORPG with werewolves, necromancers, and cows? Then check out Project: Gorgon. This indie MMORPG is now available through Steam Early Access. We clarify who the MMORPG is aimed at and who can safely look away.
If you are looking for an MMORPG “like back in the day” where you can still explore the world yourself and are not led by the hand, then Project: Gorgon is the right choice.
After a long wait, during which the game was only available through Kickstarter packages and the developers Elder Game’s own store, Project Gorgon is now also available on Steam. As an Early Access version, it currently costs $30 (27.74€ at the time of writing) on sale, after which the price will rise to $40.
What Makes Project: Gorgon Different?
Project: Gorgon is an MMORPG in the style of old classics like Asheron’s Call. However, in Project: Gorgon it is not primarily about player-versus-player brawls. The focus of the game is on exploring the world and figuring things out for yourself.
You will not be led by the textbook to take your time to look at everything. There are no guides or clear paths, you must find your own way. A sharp mind and reading the quest texts will help – something that many games have lost.
While the game is designed for a multiplayer experience, it can also be played solo quite well. On your journey of discovery, you will not be harassed by PvP enthusiasts and you can also make NPCs with their unique personalities friends or foes.
The Features of Project: Gorgon
Project: Gorgon is still in the Early Access phase. However, some special features stand out and give the game a certain character. In summary:
NPC Personalities: Depending on your behavior, you can befriend or antagonize NPCs.
No Classes: In Project: Gorgon, there are no pre-made classes. Instead, you shape your character with upgradeable skills like necromancy, lycanthropy (werewolf disease), or cows.
Why cows? Why not?
Necromancy lets you summon undead – even the corpses of fallen comrades.
Tame animals and train them into powerful combat companions.
Challenges: You will not be guided through the world; instead, you must explore it. If you want to find something, you must think hard and read texts, not follow a marker.
No Open PvP: Project: Gorgon focuses more on exploration/PvE aspects. A system with constantly active PvP does not (yet) exist.
Project Gorgon is Indie
Anyone investing in the game should know that while it is made with passion, it operates on a small budget. Behind Project Gorgon are two MMO veterans, Eric Heimburg and Sandra Powers. The two have worked on Asheron’s Call.
Project Gorgon was funded through Kickstarter, and there is no big publisher behind it.

For whom is Project: Gorgon suitable? Any player who enjoys discovering a new world and does not want to be subject to constraints will feel comfortable in Project: Gorgon. Free character development and challenging puzzles are at the forefront. And of course for fans of old school MMORPGs who want to relive past times in Asheron’s Call or Everquest.
For whom is the game not suitable? Project: Gorgon has outdated graphics and does not excel in the “amenities” of modern games. Anyone expecting eye candy and easy leveling will not enjoy it. Project Gorgon is hard work.
In March, Final Fantasy XIV added a number of new items and emotes to the cash shop. One of these is an emote that briefly transforms you into a Super Saiyan like from Dragonball.
In MMORPGs, there is often the option to buy tons of additional stuff for real money that you don’t really need, but somehow still want to have.
The Moogle Kiosk in FFXIV is not much different, offering players the chance to grab rewards from past temporary events, as well as new outfits, mounts, and emotes.
OVER 9000!
One of the latest additions is the emote “Gathering Power”.
It transforms your character into a true Super Saiyan, albeit only for a short time.
In action, it looks like this:

Square Enix takes no responsibility for the consequences if this emote raises your power level above 9000.
Other items that were added include the event outfits, as well as more rewards from the 2017 Princess Fest and the tattered outfit of the popular FFXIV NPC Hildibrand Mandeville.
In a few weeks, the items from the 2017 Easter event will also be added in connection with the Easter event.
Farming for the new relic gear in Eureka is in full swing. Here are all the details you need for quick and efficient farming:
In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4 & Xbox One) a famous streamer made a big mistake. Nevertheless, he won the round spectacularly!
In Fortnite: Battle Royale, anything can happen. Especially towards the end, when the play area becomes smaller and only a few players remain, it gets incredibly dramatic! The duel for the final victory is then hard to surpass in tension.
Normally, players act particularly effectively and professionally in the final round, as every mistake could cost the victory.
However, some gamers are so confident that they engage in silly games.
“I’m going for a No-Scope!”
The Fortnite player Shroud is a true professional. He dominated in Counter Strike: Global Offensive and is feared in PUBG. With his streamer buddy Ninja (one of the best and richest Fortnite streamers), he occasionally hunts in Fortnite.
In one match, unfortunately, Ninja was knocked out. Only Shroud and one last enemy remained. Shroud had almost full shields and health. But he didn’t want to just wipe out the last enemy. He announced, “I’m going for a No-Scope.” That is a shot with a sniper rifle without using the scope.
A risky maneuver, as the last remaining enemy in a match is usually no noob.
Stay calm and kill the opponent
Nevertheless, Shroud wanted to do it and promptly messed it up. He jumped dumbly in front of the enemy’s gun and panickedly built walls and ramps. He took several shotgun hits. His shield was gone, and shortly thereafter he only had 17 hitpoints left.

Ninja, who was watching, became more and more hysterical and probably thought of Shroud as a complete idiot. But the professional Shroud stayed calm and went through with it. As the opponent confidently climbed up a ramp with the shotgun aimed at Shroud to finish him off, Shroud just aimed and blew the opponent’s head off.
It was a headshot, and with that, the chicken dinner Epic Victory went to Shroud. Ninja could only awefully say, “You are out of your fucking mind, dude”.
The new Pokémon GO update 0.95.3 for Android and 1.65.3 for iOS is on the way and brings exciting changes. A new, special monster and hints about quests are in the code. Can we soon submit PokéStop suggestions?
A new update with the version number 0.95.3 for Android and 1.65.3 for iOS is rolling out for Pokémon GO. Officially, the update is supposed to activate the Facebook feature that allows linking your Pokémon GO accounts with Facebook.
As APK mining shows, there is much more hidden in the update that you can look forward to.
Additionally, the update fixes bugs that occurred while playing. Data mining shows which hidden changes have also made their way into the game’s code. When these will take effect is still uncertain. Nevertheless, trainers are already looking forward to them.
0.95.3 APK Mining – Spinda, new monster with 8 variants
A new monster species has been discovered by data miners at TheSilphRoad. Spinda is now found in the code of Pokémon GO (not yet in the wild). It is a very special monster from the third generation. It is said that Spinda has unique patterns.
It has also been found in the code that there will be 8 different variants of Spinda, each presumably with different patterns.
New Venusaur Attack and “Meteorologist”
As the Pokémon GO team announced on the evening of March 16, Venusaur will be able to learn the attack Flora Statue on Community Day. This attack is now in the game’s code. Additionally, an attack with four variants is being activated in Pokémon GO.
This attack is called Meteorologist and is the signature move of Formeo. The special thing about it is that the attack is actually Normal type but changes its type based on the weather. From other games in the series, we know that it changes as follows:
Clear weather, Fog – Normal
Sunny – Fire
Rain – Water
Hail – Ice
Sandstorm – Rock
In addition, the following new attacks have been found in the code that could be released soon:
V0292_MOVE_WEATHER_BALL_FIRE
V0293_MOVE_WEATHER_BALL_ICE
V0294_MOVE_WEATHER_BALL_ROCK
V0295_MOVE_WEATHER_BALL_WATER
Again hints on quests in Pokémon GO
In the data mining of the last Pokémon GO updates, hints about quests often appeared. The community assumes these are missions related to your Pokémon adventures that can reward you.
New is now “ACTIVITY_CATCH_QUEST_POKEMON_ENCOUNTER”, which is encountered alongside hints like “ACTIVITY_CATCH_FIRST_CATCH_OF_DAY”, “ACTIVITY_CATCH_AR_PLUS_BONUS”, “ACTIVITY_CATCH_CURVEBALL”.
It therefore seems that at least some of the quests will involve catching Pokémon in the future. Until Niantic officially explains the feature, it probably will not be released in the game.
Submitting PokéStop suggestions – in Pokémon GO?
Exciting changes continue. Keep in mind that these have only been found in the code of Pokémon GO and have not yet been officially announced. As with the other changes, there is no guarantee that this feature will ever be released.
A new POI feature has been discovered. POI stands for Point of Interest and translates to noteworthy places or attractions. This is intended to give trainers the opportunity to submit PokéStop suggestions to Niantic without using Ingress.
The following data will be collected by the tool:
Description text
Photo
Longitude
Latitude
Based on the code, it can be inferred that the submissions will work similarly to Ingress and will be reviewed individually. If this feature is really activated, it would be a great change for many trainers in rural areas.
How do you like the discoveries from the data mining?
Since early 2018, Bungie has been making extensive renovations to get its problematic title Destiny 2 back on track. Many changes have already been implemented, and many more will follow. The “roadmap” has been adjusted multiple times. We show how Destiny 2 will change this spring.
There has been turmoil around Destiny 2 for quite some time. Even the most loyal fans are increasingly turning away and looking for alternatives until the struggling game can finally offer an acceptable gaming experience. Many are completely turning their backs on the Destiny series.
Bungie is trying to make the game more attractive by implementing extensive changes. Numerous adjustments have already been made. However, these have yet to initiate a real turnaround. Most Guardians simply feel that the current changes are not enough. The core problems of Destiny 2 have remained largely untouched. Bungie’s roadmap has also been changed multiple times. Important changes have been postponed in part.
A large part of the community wants to give the game another chance only when a fundamental overhaul takes place. However, such profound reforms are still awaited. Therefore, the game continues to struggle with declining player numbers.
We show how Destiny 2 will evolve in the coming months. But will the upcoming changes be enough to win back the fans?
This is how Destiny 2 will change in spring 2018
To save Destiny 2, Bungie presented a roadmap to illustrate to the Guardians how the company intends to get the struggling game back on track. With updates 1.1.2 and 1.1.3, two milestones of the emergency plan have already been implemented. Numerous changes have thus already found their way into the game.
The updated roadmap from March 15, 2018
However, two further milestones are still pending. A large part of the Guardians considers these two updates to be Bungie’s last real chance to save Destiny 2. Although a major expansion in the style of “The Taken King” is expected in the fall of 2018, for many players that may already be too late.
This add-on would also no longer be covered by the Season Pass. Should updates 1.1.4 and 1.2.0 fail and not bring about the expected turnaround, large parts of the community may no longer be willing to give this expansion a real chance.
This will change with update 1.1.4 in March
March is all about sandbox and crucible changes. On March 27, the following adjustments will be made to the game:
Sandbox adjustments for weapons and individual Guardian classes
The 6vs6 PvP mode returns in Iron Banner
Weekly rotating PvP playlist with Mayhem/Rumble/Iron Banner
Ammunition and gameplay tuning in PvP
Penalties for early quitting in crucible matches
Protection mechanics against repetitive strikes and crucible maps
Reduction of exotic duplicates
Exclusive Nightfall strike-specific rewards
Vendor view option for the Companion app
The introduction of modifiers for Heroic Strikes originally intended for March 27 has been postponed to May due to a major issue, as deep changes are needed to address this problem. With this step allowing for additional time, Bungie, according to its own words, intends to make this feature even more diverse.
In addition to the upcoming weapon adjustments, the developers noted via Twitter that with the March update, the accuracy of hand cannons will be increased both when shooting from the hip and when using the sights. Also, weapon accuracy in the air will be increased at the same time.
The Prestige mode for the “World Eater” section of the raid will be introduced
Seasonal ranking system for the crucible
Private matches known from the predecessor will return
The vault capacity will be increased
A multi-emote function will be introduced
Masterwork versions of exotic weapons will enter the game
Seasonal progress with vendors will be introduced
Fireteams will return improved from their break
Massive sandbox adjustments for exotic weapons and armor pieces
Modifiers for Heroic Strikes
In addition to the second expansion, the community’s main focus is on the already delayed overhaul of exotic items. While many fans are also looking forward to private matches and the prestige mode of the raid section, a large part of the Guardians is anxiously anticipating the rework of the Exotics.
Because exotic items, in their current state, symbolically represent one of the most serious problems of the game – the loot is mostly boring, if not insignificant.
Many exotic items do not live up to their name and serve merely as dust collectors in the vault or for infusing. This is a significant opportunity for Bungie to restore lost trust and revitalize the dwindling hope of the Guardian community.
Will the changes this spring be enough to win back the fans?
For most fans, one thing is clear: for the game to even have a chance, the upcoming two updates at least must not fail.
Even considering that the two remaining update milestones will still hardly change anything regarding the core issues of the game: If the upcoming two updates are well-received by the community, at least the next big expansion, expected in fall 2018, will have another opportunity to tackle the core problems and implement fundamental changes.
There is not much room for experimentation and potential failures. If the updates fail, the remaining patience and the last shred of understanding of even the most loyal Destiny fans will be exhausted.
Then it will be extremely difficult for Bungie to turn things around again – even with a large expansion. Because the studio would not have really convincing arguments for a renewed investment from the players. And the goodwill from the days of the predecessor is long gone.
What do you think of the remaining two updates? Can Destiny 2 buy itself more time for changes?
