After the leaked video of the Final Fantasy XIV monster Behemoth was taken offline yesterday, Capcom has now released the official trailer on their YouTube channel.
According to the producer of Monster Hunter: World, Ryozo Tsujimoto, Behemoth will be a high-level monster that will not be easy to defeat. It will take some time before he becomes available in the game, so Tsujimoto recommended that new hunters start preparing for it.
The beast should be implemented into the world of MHW as organically as possible by the development team. This also means that hunters will be able to break off its horns and claws.

Fortnite Battle Royale was recently released on the Nintendo Switch. Epic Games has now confirmed that there will be crossplay between almost all platforms.
At the Nintendo Direct for E3 2018 Fortnite was announced for the Nintendo Switch. The game has already been released today. Epic Games’ PR Manager Nick Chester confirmed shortly after the conference that players can play together across different platforms.
Fortnite on the Switch supports crossplay for:
Xbox One
PC
Mac
Mobile (iOS and also for the upcoming Android version)
The exception here is the PlayStation 4. Currently, no crossplay is allowed between Nintendo and Sony consoles.
Anyone who has played with their Fortnite account on the PS4 cannot play on the Switch with that account. The same applies vice versa.
Fortnite has its own servers on the Nintendo Switch
Nick Chester also confirmed that the Switch version of Fortnite will have its own servers. It is not a port of the mobile version. Fortnite is thus a “full-fledged” Switch game.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch brings together all Smash characters in one game. Nintendo is also revising many characters with new abilities and animations.
Nintendo is bringing Smash Bros. to the Switch with a big bang that fans did not expect. Characters from the original Smash Bros, Melee, and Brawl are joining the fight. This makes Smash Bros the biggest crossover in gaming history.
Release date: Smash Bros Ultimate for the Switch will be released on December 7, 2018.
“What the fans want”
The first complete Smash Bros. Nintendo has gone to the trouble of completely restructuring the game from the ground up. Core mechanics have been revised and new effects have been added.
A few important changes:
Mario can now use some costumes from Odyssey and fight with his hat
Kirby has received new costumes for the new fighters
Link now uses his Ancient Arrow from Breath of the Wild. He now employs Remote Bombs.
Pikachu is now available in a female version, with a heart-shaped tail
Fighters have received new facial animations
Smash on the Switch also offers 8-player battles
The Landmaster is no longer in the game. Instead, Falco and Fox have new smashes where they attack with their ships.
The way new characters are acquired has been revised.
Echo Fighters: These fighters fight similarly to their originals but have different characteristics. For example, Dr. Mario throws pills instead of fireballs.
Daisy is in the game as an Echo Fighter of Daisy
Gamecube controllers will be compatible with Smash Bros Ultimate
Smash Ultimate introduces new fighters: Inkling and Ridley
Inkling from Splatoon wants to get in on the action. Inkling uses ink to deal damage to opponents. When opponents are inked, they take more damage. To deal damage, the Inkling relies on various weapons from Splatoon.
His smash attack is the Killer Wail. The fighter has 8 different costumes, each using different ink colors. Once you have used all your ink, you need to refill it by blocking and pressing “b”.
Ridley is now fighting. But at the end of the presentation, Sakurai has a surprise. Fan-favorite Ridley will provide chaos as a playable fighter. Accordingly, there will be a new Ridley and Inkling amiibo.
The fans are excited
Hardcore fans appreciate the changes. On Reddit, Smash fans are particularly excited about the new fighter Ridley. Ridley is a fan favorite, and the community has been wishing for a playable version of him for years. Now that Ridley is in the game, some fans are already joking that the next step would be Son Goku from the Dragon Ball manga.
Fans are also happy about a few technical adjustments:
Players can now dash cancel
There is a Battlefield mode for each map
Percentages are now displayed up to the first decimal place
Blast Zones are now indicated in the game.

In Destiny 2, today, June 12th, the Weekly Reset is back. The winner of the Faction Rally has been announced. With the weekly reset, new activities such as the Nightfall strike or the Flashpoint can now be tackled. The weekly Crucible playlist is also rotating again.
The new week kicks off with a bang: During the Sony presentation at E3 2018, Bungie unveiled a story trailer for the upcoming Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2. The story of the fall expansion takes an unexpected turn for many Guardians. One of the main characters from the previous Destiny storyline is literally executed by a well-known, though presumed lost character from Destiny 1.
By the way, after initial confusion, it is now officially confirmed: The Dead Orbit has won the first group match of Season 3 as expected. The Faction Rally is now over. The corresponding in-game announcement unfortunately came with a nearly 20-minute delay. But now the winning weapon – the Basilisk shotgun – can be claimed. Followers of the Dead Orbit pay 1,000 Glimmer, while all other Guardians must pay 50,000 Glimmer for the weapon.
But let’s see what else this week has to offer.
Nightfall starting June 12 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
This week, the Nightfall is“Wille der Tausenden”.The Nightfall-specific reward in this strike is currently unknown.
No modifiers are active in the standard Nightfall strike!
In Prestige mode, you must activate the modifiers via the challenge cards. These cards drop for DLC owners in both the standard and Prestige modes of the Nightfall strike. Don’t forget that you can upgrade your challenge cards with Xur again from Friday.
The following challenges are waiting to be mastered:
Unbroken: Complete the Nightfall with fewer than three deaths
Three and done: Freeze Xol 3 times with the Valkyrie
Heroic Strike Modifiers
The following modifiers are active in the heroic strike playlist:
Arc Burn: Arc damage from all sources is slightly increased
Glass: Health and shields are halved, but recovery is twice as fast
Grenadier: Grenade abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster
At the ongoing E3 2018, Bungie has now released a trailer for the new PvEvP mode Gambit. It features a lot of fresh gameplay scenes and an explanation of how the new mode works from Destiny 2.
After Activision had already boldly teased Gambit some time ago during an investors call and Bungie had revealed it recently during the reveal stream for the Forsaken expansion, the appropriate trailer was finally shown at E3 2018. In the new video material, Bungie shows and explains the processes of the new hybrid mode.
Gambit is a mix of cooperative PvE battles and PvP elements. Two teams of four Guardians face off against AI opponents but must be wary of potential incursions from the opposing team. For more information on the Gambit mode, you can find it in our corresponding article. There, we have summarized all the important details for you.
Fallout 76 is a multiplayer game where you can also communicate with other players. To bring a little more life to your conversations, emotes will also be available – as a few seconds from the gameplay video show.
Show Your Feelings with an Emote Wheel: In Fallout 76, you can communicate with other survivors from Vault 76. To express your feelings during conversations, you can enhance discussions with emotes.
In Fallout 76, you have access to a wheel of gestures (cover image). The wheel is only visible for a brief moment in the gameplay trailer of Fallout 76 shown at E3. Besides classic emotes like “thumbs up” and “thumbs down,” the typical poses of Vault Boy, there seem to be some more specialized poses as well.
Emote Wheels – Already Known from Other Games: The ability for players to select their gestures through a ring menu is also found in other games. In the battle royale giants PUBG and Fortnite, the emote selection also works through a wheel.
A bit closer to the survival aspect of Fallout 76 is Conan Exiles, which also features a ring menu for gestures. In Conan Exiles, new gestures can also be learned when the templates have been found in the world. Whether Fallout 76 will also take inspiration from this remains to be seen.
Gestures are Important for Communication: Unlike in games like PUBG and Fortnite, gestures can be really important in a survival game. In Conan Exiles, there is an emote with which the character surrenders and then also does not draw weapons anymore. A kind of plea for mercy.
A similar gesture with raised hands can also be seen in the video of Fallout 76. It is still not clear if there will be a voice chat in the game. The option to surrender may, therefore, save your life.

Microsoft announced Halo Infinite at the E3 2018. On one hand, they want to return to the roots, but on the other hand, they also want to offer something modern.
Players have been waiting a long time for a new Halo. However, some fans were also disappointed with the last installment, Halo 5: Guardians, which was released in 2015. Microsoft stated at E3 that Halo Infinite will offer more of what fans are looking for.
A modern Halo with classic elements
The Master Chief returns! The Master Chief was not as prominent in the last part of the Halo series as many had hoped. Therefore, Microsoft wants to refocus on the beloved hero in Halo Infinite.
A huge open world. Although no actual gameplay material was shown, only a demo of the Slipspace Engine, fans can expect a gigantic open world where animals also roam.
Release still a long way off. The developers at 343 Industries are aware that they have now raised expectations with the announcement. However, fans will have to wait some time before Halo: Infinite is released. A release date is not yet set, and the team indicates that the game will still be in development for some time.
It is said that the trailer itself is an engine demo, but it is supposed to give a clear indication of the direction the next part of the Halo series will take. Thus, the final game might be different from what one might expect after the trailer.
Online components? Since almost nothing has been revealed about Halo Infinite, it is also unclear what the online features will be. Whether the modes (Team) Deathmatch and Capture the Flag as well as Breakout will be included again, or if we can play cooperatively with friends, is uncertain. Who knows, maybe Halo Infinite will also get a Battle Royale mode…

The battle royale mode of Fortnite is coming to the Nintendo Switch today! You can download the game from the Nintendo eShop starting at 7:00 PM German time.
In the trailer for the Nintendo Direct at E3 2018, only the PvP mode Battle Royale was shown. It is not clearly stated whether the Survival mode “Save the World” is also included in the game.
Confusion about the download of Fortnite on Switch in Germany: Fortnite has been available for download in the USA since 7:00 PM German time. This was also announced in the press conference. In Germany, however, according to the official German Nintendo trailer for Fortnite, you can only download it from 11:00 PM.
https://youtu.be/ZBtR84Moe3M
What is Fortnite: Battle Royale? You are dropped over an island and must compete against 99 other players. The one who remains at the end wins. Along the way, you will find various weapons, and in addition to your shooting skills, you will also need to build fortifications for protection.
In the new “Confusion House” event from Hearthstone, there are 28 new cards – and plenty of gold and Arcane Dust for all players.
Amid the hustle and bustle of E3, it might have gone a bit unnoticed, but a lot has happened in Hearthstone over the past few days! Since yesterday (06/11/2018), the “Confusion House” event has been taking place in Hearthstone and has introduced a total of 28 new cards into the game. However, these are only available in the Arena. There is a free entry to the Arena to test out the new cards!
The “Confusion House” event runs from June 11 to July 3.
28 cards cause chaos in the Arena. Chromie has smuggled a total of 28 new cards into the Arena that will create quite a bit of chaos. Each class has received two new cards, plus there are ten neutral ones. The cards have some pretty crazy effects, such as Murozond: As a Battlecry, it ensures that all turns of its owner last only 15 seconds and draws 2 cards. The effect persists even after Murozond’s death!
Dust and gold with new quests: During the event, players receive very special quests. These special missions offer two particular features.
They grant gold and Arcane Dust with each quest
They are independent of the classes
All Confusion House quests are neutral, such as: “Complete 15 turns”, “Cast 20 spells”, or “Draw 25 cards”. This allows all missions to be completed with the favorite class. Anyone who still has a standard quest in their log can “reroll” it and will receive one of the special quests as well.
In summary, the event is a good opportunity to experience more exciting matches in the Arena or to significantly boost one’s supply of gold and dust.
What do you think of the Confusion House event? A good way to spice up the dry spell between two expansions? Or are you not interested in cards and quests at all?

This evening, Nintendo will host a live stream at 6:00 PM on the E3 2018. In the press conference, you will learn more about Super Smash Brothers and Splatoon 2. We also hope for new information about Pokémon for the Switch.
What happens during the Nintendo Live Show? Nintendo’s press conference will be held in the form of a video show called Nintendo Direct. So it’s not a press conference in the traditional sense.
Here, new information about Super Smash Brothers and Splatoon 2 will be shown. We also expect new information about Pokémon Switch, and maybe we’ll see more about Pokémon Let’s GO.
More information about the Pokéball Plus? The Nintendo Switch is still a relatively young console, and we assume that no new hardware will be presented. However, there may be more information regarding Pokémon Let’s GO about Nintendo’s new controller, the Pokéball Plus.
New “classic” RPG installment from Pokémon is highly anticipated for the Switch
It is now known that Pokémon Let’s GO is not the new classic main installment of the RPG series. Let’s GO Eevee and Pikachu are a simplified version aimed primarily at new trainers.
The new classic RPG installment is set to be released in 2019 and will be more aligned with Sun/Moon or Red/Blue.
In Star Citizen, players are currently discussing a special refund request. A player wants to get back his $4500. He is afraid that he will not be able to play the game when it comes out because he is suffering from a serious illness.
Single case sparks discussion: The site Massivelyop reports on a discussion in the Star Citizen community. There, a player explained why he wants back the $4500 (about €3,800) he has invested in the crowdfunding of Star Citizen over the last 6 years. The player explained that he has multiple sclerosis and his condition is getting worse each year. He fears that when Star Citizen is eventually released, in 2022, he will no longer be physically able to play Star Citizen. Therefore, he wants his money back.
I didn’t want the MMO they are making for me
Started completely differently: The player says he got involved in the project in 2012 and supported it because he thought he would get a small, clean space simulation with multiplayer co-op missions. He would have gladly pledged his support for that in 2012. He wouldn’t have paid for a first-person shooter or an MMO. And he wouldn’t have paid at all if he had known what he was getting into and how long the development would take. Because even in 2012, he knew he was suffering from MS.
Criticism of fans: In his post, the player also addresses the fans. He says that many deny the problems. They said it doesn’t matter when Star Citizen is released. To him, it matters a lot. You get attacked hard when you say that CIG probably isn’t able to stop planning new features. Or when you mention that CIG frequently misses their deadlines.
I didn’t sign up for this crazy ride: The player has invested about $4500 and is struggling with the automatic refund system of Star Citizen. However, he is not angry with the game. He just makes it clear: I didn’t sign up for that. This is not what I got into. But he wishes the game a lot of success and believes that it could be a good game for others. Star Citizen may have the worst project management you can imagine, but some of the best engineers and developers.
Words spark debate: These words come from a comment. Someone then re-posted them as their own thread on Reddit. There, they sparked a heated debate among the fans. Meanwhile, the thread has over 1400 comments. Some agree with the words of the backer and understand. They too have been waiting for years for their dream of Star Citizen to come true. Others think that such a discussion hurts the game and casts a bad light on the project.
According to rumors, the next-gen Xbox will be released within the next 2 years. There is supposed to be more than just a new Xbox console.
Following Microsoft’s strong performance at this year’s E3, major announcements continue. The website Thurrott reports that Microsoft is currently working on the next generation of Xbox, set to launch in 2020. This news is supported by anonymous sources.
A whole hardware family planned
During E3 2018, Xbox chief Phil Spencer hinted that they are working on the next generation of Microsoft’s console. He used the plural “consoles.”
If the anonymous source is to be believed, a whole hardware family is in the works. The project is reportedly under the codename “Scarlett.” This is expected to encompass a whole range of hardware.
Several new products are expected to be released by 2020, culminating in the new generation of the Xbox console. The release of the Xbox One X was not long ago, so a release in 2020 seems unusual.
Does Microsoft even have the resources for this? The rumor could fit with the latest news. As revealed at E3 2018, Microsoft now owns 5 new developer studios. This would at least provide enough capacity to work with other teams on the new console generation.
Enjoy with caution! This is merely a rumor, and you should treat the information accordingly. There are no official plans from Microsoft regarding the future of Xbox.

With the Black Ops Pass – in other words, the season pass for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – buyers are expected to receive new content faster and more frequently during the first one-year live season, instead of only getting new DLCs four times a year.
Although more details are expected soon, the Black Ops Pass currently offers the following:
“Classified” a bonus zombie experience that will be available at launch
Other brand new zombie experiences: IX, Voyage of Despair and Blood of the Dead
Twelve multiplayer maps
Four exclusive blackout characters
In addition, tons of other fresh post-release content are set to find their way into the game. However, be careful: The contents of the season pass are not set in stone and can still change until launch.
Finally, a trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 was revealed. But instead of hype, the trailer sparked disappointment – at least for Cortyn.
Fans had to wait many years for serious signs of life from Cyberpunk 2077. Now at E3 2018, there were finally a lot of information, as there was a trailer of nearly 100 seconds that thrilled many fans. However, it didn’t knock me off my feet. What could be seen was an emotionless display of effects.
Many players who previously knew nothing about Cyberpunk 2077 asked themselves after the trailer: “Is this GTA in the future?” The question is as derogatory as it is justified, as that was exactly the impression the trailer conveyed. Quick camera cuts, no sequence lasts longer than four or five seconds. Everything explodes, dies, or is enhanced with technology. The world is garish, loud, and colorful.
The cool “night feeling” from the first images and trailers seems completely lost – brutality and action without pause are in the foreground. This is not what I expect from the creators of the best RPG of the last decade, but rather from the latest episode of Alarm for Cobra 11.
A trailer without emotional attachment
Cyberpunk 2077 has to endure some comparisons with The Witcher 3 – after all, it’s the last major title from CD Projekt Red. Every single trailer for The Witcher 3 emotionally touched me and made me feel connected to the characters or build a bond with the game world. Do you remember the trailer where Geralt takes out the soldiers who want to hang a woman? Or the monster hunt in the barn? Both trailers had a brilliant pull, drew me into the game world, and left me fascinated.
The Cyberpunk trailer doesn’t achieve that. The protagonist shown is unsympathetic to me in every way (flashy car, big weapons, causing chaos “for the Lols”).
Presumably, the trailer is much cooler if you’ve played the Pen & Paper Cyberpunk 2020 and recognize and understand all the many references. I don’t do that and have to extensively inform myself afterwards about what the inscription X in scene Y means. That doesn’t entice me, doesn’t appeal to me.
I can neither warm up to the characters nor to the shown game world. Not because it might end up being exciting, but because the trailer is completely overloaded, without explaining any details even in the slightest. It’s just “Wow, technology!” without soul.
Even CD Projekt Red doubts the trailer
However, even some people from CD Projekt Red seemed to fear that the trailer would convey a false impression of the game. At least that’s my interpretation of it, as they specially include in a hidden message:
“While the world is full of adrenaline, don’t be misled by the chases and weapons. Cyberpunk 2077 is a real single-player, a proper story-driven RPG. You’ll be able to create your own character […]”

All of this probably wouldn’t have needed to be mentioned if the trailer had conveyed an impression of how the finished game would eventually look. But the trailer didn’t do that. Instead, it was an action-packed ride through Night City, an adrenaline tour from one explosion and excitement to the next. That wasn’t a trailer for an RPG. That was a trailer for an action movie.
Conclusion: Damped hype, undeterred hope
Please don’t get me wrong. I have great trust in CD Projekt Red, as I now compare every game in my head with Witcher 3. I firmly believe that the guys and gals will eventually deliver one of the best RPGs of all time and I will celebrate Cyberpunk 2077 properly.
However, the trailer did not make me want to learn more about the game world or that I simply cannot bear to live without this game anymore. For my part, the developers can now happily take two to three more years – I’m not in a hurry.
What did you think of the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077?
Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS & Xbox One) is finally getting new game modes again: Score Royale and Final Fight. In one mode, it’s all about gathering as much loot as possible. The other game mode could be a kind of race.
Finally, new game modes for Fortnite: Data miners have been digging through the Fortnite code again. They found files for new, limited-time game modes. Since the Shotgun mode, there hasn’t been anything completely new.
But if the data miners are right, there will soon be two new modes called “Score Royale” and “Final Fight”.
Game Mode Score Royale
What do we know about Score Royale? This game mode is said to reward players who prefer looting items rather than excelling in combat, according to the leaked data miner text. Points are given not only for kills but also for opened chests and collected items.
The player with the most points at the end wins. And if a player has earned more points through gathering and looting than through kills, someone who does not remain last can also win.
Game Mode Final Fight
What do we know about Final Fight in Fortnite? Not much is known about this game mode yet. However, we know that players must survive until the last storm circle and then fight for victory. What exactly this means is still unclear. Perhaps the circle shrinks more and more, and players must rush to the center?
Interestingly, the mode is said to offer matchmaking playlists for two 50-player teams, five 20-player teams, and eight 12-player teams. That sounds like quite a wild chaos!
That sounds great! I want to play that! When the new game modes appear in Fortnite and whether they play out as described by the data miners is, of course, unknown. However, it shouldn’t take too long, as there haven’t been any new game modes in Fortnite for a long time!
During the Square Enix E3 Showcase, the coop event between Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter: World was presented. Shortly thereafter, a video leaked on Facebook showing the well-known Final Fantasy monster Behemoth in the world of MHW.
The beast from FFXIV will invade the world of MHW in the summer of 2018 and compete with other monsters in territorial battles.
But what actually is a Behemoth?
The King of All Beasts
Behemoth is a powerful recurring foe in the Final Fantasy series: It has been present since the second game and is well-known and loved in the Final Fantasy community.
Behemoths usually appear alone and always have a high level in FF games. The stronger variations of the beast, such as King or Emperor Behemoth, often play the role of boss enemies.
What are its abilities? Behemoth is primarily distinguished by its incredible physical strength and defense. It usually attacks mainly with its claws or horns, dealing exceedingly high damage.
However, the beast is also capable of using strong magic. Its signature spell Meteor is normally executed by the Behemoth either as a counterattack or as a final strike just before its death, taking down enemies with it.
It seems he will also have this ability in Monster Hunter: World, as we see a fireball falling from the sky at the beginning of the leaked video.
Additionally, he can also cast defensive spells on himself to greatly reduce the damage taken.
How big is a Behemoth? Large. In the leaked video for the Monster Hunter: World event, we see the Behemoth casually chewing on the severed tail of a Deviljhoe.
It is at least as big as Jhoe, which is already among the largest monsters in MHW. Moreover, Behemoths can also stand on 2 legs, making them even larger.
If you want to get an idea of how big he is in Final Fantasy XIV, you can watch a video of the Behemoth FATE, a limited-time open-world event.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xld98RJxprs
By the way: The music playing during the leaked Monster Hunter: World video is called “Thunderer” and can also be heard during the FATE battle against Behemoth.
Why Behemoth?
The Final Fantasy series has practically endless amounts of cool monsters, but Behemoth fits best into the setting of Monster Hunter: World:
Of the recurring beast foes from FF games, it has the highest recognition value and is not too “magical” for the world of MHW.
Due to its design, Behemoth is well-suited for the fast, action-packed combat system of Monster Hunter: World and does not resemble the already implemented monsters too closely.
Its horns, claws, and tail are excellent for being broken off and used for armor.
The variations King and Emperor Behemoth could pass as “hardened” versions of the normal Behemoth.
The FF food “Behemoth Steaks” can be carried over as food in Monster Hunter: World.
Interestingly for Monster Hunter fans is also the fact that there are specific armor pieces in FFXIV that can be earned through PvP or exchanged for Behemoth horns.
It is possible that this armor could be carried over into Monster Hunter: World or serve as a template.
More information about the leaked video can be found in our article:

The Division 2 was last presented at E3 2018. The new setting will be summer in Washington D.C., over 6 months after the events of the first part in winter New York. Among the biggest innovations are not only the new city but also the season and specializations in the endgame.
Fallout 76, is an upcoming survival MMO from Bethesda. The game is also set to be offered in a particularly cool Collector’s Edition with a Power Armor helmet. However, the Power Armor Edition is already sold out on Amazon after just a few hours!
What is it about? Collectors of cool game goodies surely still remember the Pip-Boy. This refers to a replica of the legendary portable computer that you possess in every Fallout game. That thing was included in the Collector’s Edition of Fallout 4.
For Fallout 76, there’s again a physical goodie: But not just another Pip-Boy! Rather, this time it is a portable Power Armor helmet! Power Armors are the most powerful items in the game, so the helmet is a sought-after collector’s item.
The Collector’s Edition with Power Armor helmet is extremely cool …
What’s included in the Collector’s Edition? The Collector’s Edition of Fallout 76 is said to contain the following items:
A T-51 Power Armor helmet: You can wear the helmet, and it includes features like a voice changer, LED lights, and V.A.T.S. sound effects.
A carrying bag for the helmet.
Map of West Virginia: This map shows the game world and glows in the dark!
24 small figures: You can use these plastic figures to mark your position on the map.
Bonus items: To celebrate the 300th anniversary of the USA, you will receive special in-game items.
The game in a stylish steelbook case.
All this is supposed to be available for a mere 199 US dollars on Amazon.
… but unfortunately already sold out!
What now? Already gone? Unfortunately, the offer was probably too tempting for many fans, as the Power Armor Edition was already sold out just a few hours after it became available for pre-order on Amazon.
How do I still get a Collector’s Edition? Other online retailers may still offer the Collector’s Edition for pre-order. Additionally, various packages with the Collector’s Edition will likely be available in local stores on launch day.

So ask your trusted retailer about it. And then there’s eBay and Co, even if prices there will surely explode.

The new, free battle royale shooter Realm Royale is currently gaining popularity on Steam. Players can find here things that Fortnite or PUBG cannot offer. Even famous battle royale players like Ninja are showing interest in the Paladins spin-off.
Realm Royale stands out with classes: At first glance, Realm Royale is a classic battle royale shooter, but it has a special twist. At the beginning of the match, you choose one of five classes: Warrior, Mage, Hunter, Engineer, or Assassin. Throughout the battle, you can loot legendary weapons and skills that originate from the hero shooter Paladins.
The chickens are a particularly popular feature: Unlike other battle royale shooters, you transform into a chicken when your health points drop to zero. As chickens, you move quite quickly, which makes it difficult for your opponents to finish you off. As a chicken, you then have the opportunity to revive and return to the battle as a threat.
The chickens were already a popular mascot in Paladins. In Realm Royale, you can even get skins for them. Here is the Jail-Bait Chicken.
More than 100,000 players on Steam in the first week after release
Realm Royale grew and grew: The first release day looked rather modest for Realm Royale. The game reached about 4,600 concurrent players. This was likely due to the parody “Totally Accurate Battlegrounds” celebrating its release on Steam alongside Realm Royale.
However, on the second day, Realm Royale already saw 11,500 concurrent players. That was still less than the debuts of Radical Heights or Darwin Project. On the third day, the breakthrough came: Realm Royale surpassed “Totally Accurate Battlegrounds” and became the hot new battle royale game on Steam with a peak of 27,000 concurrent players.
On the weekend (June 9th to 10th), Realm Royale was the number 4 among the most played games. This rapid growth is comparable to that of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite: Battle Royale. PUBG could face serious competition on Steam from Realm Royale if the growth continues.
In Realm Royale, you choose a class at the beginning. As Hunter, you take out opponents with precise bow shots.
Realm Royale received support from famous streamers like Ninja
Famous battle royale players checked out Realm Royale and clearly had fun: Realm Royale received support from some of the biggest Twitch streamers. Ninja, Summit1g, Lirik, and TimTheTatman played Realm Royale live and attracted a large audience. Coincidentally, this happened during a server downtime at Fortnite.
Realm Royale is well received and receives positive reviews on Steam
Realm Royale is still in early access, but it is already gaining positive feedback: On Steam, Realm Royale is currently rated positively by 72% of 6,779 users (as of June 12, 1:40 PM).
On community portals like Reddit, there is also little negative feedback about the class-based battle royale shooter. The mood is generally good in the corresponding subreddit and criticism is mostly constructive.
Reviews from Steam mention that:
Realm Royale is already a lot of fun in early access
Realm Royale is suitable for every player, whether casual or strategic
Hi-Rez responds to feedback and quickly developed a solo player option
Realm Royale features cool RPG elements
Realm Royale without building like Fortnite, but faster than PUBG
No hectic building like in Fortnite: Realm Royale has a forge like Fortnite, but this is static. You can craft legendary equipment in forges. However, these have fixed spots on the map and are more like objectives that are highly contested.
Plays faster than PUBG: Some players emphasize that they get the dynamic and fast gameplay in Realm Royale that they miss in PUBG.
Elements of MOBAs and hero shooters: Realm Royale originated from Paladins: Battlegrounds. Originally, you could have played the heroes from Paladins, but that was scrapped. Hi-Rez broke it down to five classes, which still gives battle royale a new strategic layer.
PUBG still has a wide lead on Steam
Realm Royale is developing well and could potentially grab a share of the battle royale pie. The game is still in early access and has the potential to find its own niche.
Hi-Rez has also managed to bring one of the few hero shooters to market with Paladins that can compete with Overwatch. They are not the market leaders but have a solid fan base. Similarly, Realm Royale could work as it sets itself apart from other battle royale shooters.
However, PUBG still has a significant lead and reaches peaks of over 1 million concurrent players on Steam (as of June 12). It will be difficult for Realm Royale to reach such numbers. However, it is not unlikely that Hi-Rez can attract a portion of those players.
