Is Warchief Sylvanas really insane? The short story “A Good War” reveals how the leader of the Horde really thinks in WoW.
Since Sylvanas ignited Teldrassil and wiped out a large part of the Night Elves in World of Warcraft, there has been criticism of her actions.
Fans are asking: Is the Banshee Queen just crazy now? Does she only react to feelings? Is she simply Garrosh 2.0?
Blizzard has now published two short stories that are part of the Collector’s Edition of Battle for Azeroth. These shed new light on Sylvanas’ plans – and give corresponding context.
The original plan: Darnassus as hostages
Life of the Night Elves as leverage. Sylvanas’ great goal is the conquest and destruction of Stormwind. However, she knows that Stormwind cannot be attacked head-on – the city is fortified and more than the harbor would not be conquerable. Orgrimmar, on the other hand, would be easier for the Alliance to besiege.
Even Saurfang agrees with these two points. To settle the war in the long term, Sylvanas chooses a different plan: Kalimdor must be completely conquered.
Political problems within the Alliance. Darnassus and Teldrassil as hostages would have caused strife within the Alliance. The Gilneans under Greymane are still waiting for the Alliance to retake Gilneas. However, the Night Elves would have insisted on retaking Teldrassil – that would have led to political problems and possibly weakened the unity of the Alliance.
Anduin would be torn between the wishes of his allies, and no matter which wish he fulfills, he would have spurned one side. The armies of the nations would have retreated to their own countries to protect their homes.
Incorporation of the Alliance races. Due to the disputes within the Alliance, the individual nations would have been weakened and individually weaker than the Horde. Gradually, the Horde would have made peace with the individual races (under threat or logical cooperation) and integrated them into the Horde – until there was no more Alliance. This would have made Stormwind vulnerable.
Protection through hostages. At the same time, Sylvanas would have ensured that there would be no way for the Alliance to retaliate with Darnassus as hostages. She knows that the Alliance would attack Silvermoon or Undercity in revenge – but they could not do it if the Horde threatens to kill all the inhabitants of Darnassus.
That’s the original plan. Varok Saurfang fully agrees with this original plan – he even considers it brilliant.
Saurfang ruined the plan and he knows it
The major weakness in Sylvanas’ plan was Saurfang. Because Sylvanas fundamentally wanted to achieve one thing: To inflict a wound on the Alliance from which they would not recover so quickly. That would have been the death of Malfurion, a war hero who has existed for over 10,000 years and masters the forces of nature like no other.
Even though Malfurion is on the brink of death, Saurfang allows him to live because he considers the death of the Night Elf to be dishonorable.
Night Elves believe in a miracle. With Malfurion as a survivor, the Night Elves would have gained new courage. They would have seen it as a miracle that Malfurion survived despite the ambush of the Horde. Elune and fate would have been on the side of the Night Elves, which would have given them new courage.
Ultimately, Sylvanas realizes that she cannot weaken the Alliance as planned because Malfurion survived.
To increase her chances of victory for the Horde, she chooses a different path: She inflicts a wound that no one can heal and destroys Teldrassil. Because an angry Alliance might make a mistake.
Cortyn says: I can only recommend reading the nearly 100 pages of “A Good War,” as they shed a much more detailed light on the War of the Thorns and its course. The exact strategy between the individual attacks of the Horde and Alliance becomes clear, and it results in a much better picture of what Sylvanas and Saurfang are doing. It’s worth a look not just for Horde players.

We had an interview with the famous Twitch streamer zwetschkE and wanted to ask the German pro streamer: What has caused one of the once most famous German faces of Destiny to switch to Fortnite? What is he currently up to and how does he look back on Destiny, Fortnite, and his previous journey?
For Destiny veterans, the name zwetschkE should be familiar. The streamer became particularly famous for his PvP skills in the Trials of Osiris and quickly became a mainstay in the German Destiny community. Every Friday, you would see Zwetschke in the Trials of Osiris.
However, many Fortnite players are likely to know the name as well. Because currently, zwetschkE is making waves in the Fortnite scene. At the Fortnite Summer Skirmish 500,000 $ tournament, he managed to pocket a whopping 18,000 $ in prize money with his duo partner. That’s about 15,500€.
Community Focus: zwetschkE in Interview with Mein MMO
Hi, zwetschkE. First, a brief introduction would be cool. Who are you? What have you done so far?
Hello, I’m Matze. I’m 30 years old and known in the gaming world by the name “zwetschkE”. Gaming has been a great passion for me since I was 13.
I started back then with Soldier of Fortune 2. There, I was nationally in the ESL as well as internationally on Clanbase, among others, very successful with the German national team.
Back then, gaming eventually took too much time, and I took a break to focus on other things.
In 2009, I got a PS3 and played all kinds of shooters, mostly COD, until I discovered Destiny for myself.
It Sparked with Trials of Osiris
How did you come to Destiny, especially to PvP?
I was made aware of Destiny by friends and quickly fell in love with the game. At first, I didn’t enjoy the PvP mode at all. Therefore, I spent most of my time in PvE.
Only with the release of Trials of Osiris and the new 3v3 concept did the PvP mode become interesting to me.
How has Destiny changed, and why did you move away from it?
Relatively easy to explain: In Destiny 1, I enjoyed the gameplay with the sniper and the Last Word the most. The Hunter has always been my favorite! Over time, the Hunter became weaker, sniping became less viable, and the Last Word was nerfed.
What is left for me in Destiny 2? Sniping was almost impossible, the Last Word was completely removed, and the Hunter also became weaker. Additionally, the TTK was raised way too high.
I can understand that one wants to try changes in a game. What I cannot understand is not reacting quickly to the extremely negative feedback from the community. It takes almost a whole year for them to hopefully move the game back in the right direction with the Forsaken DLC.
And how do you view the upcoming new Forsaken expansion?
I can only tell you what I think of the upcoming Forsaken expansion once I’ve played it. The changes I’ve heard about sound good, but unfortunately, in my opinion, they come way too late.
Why Should Someone Watch Me Play?
How did you come to Twitch?
Honestly? I didn’t know Twitch at the time when some friends suggested I should start streaming. Initially, I wondered why anyone would want to watch me play.
Ultimately, I decided to just turn on the stream to help people reach the Lighthouse in Destiny.
The whole thing quickly took unexpected proportions.
The Step to Full-Time Streamer
How much do you focus on success and think about a career?
After the stream developed unexpectedly large and time-consuming, I eventually faced the decision to either reduce streaming significantly or to do it full-time.
At that time, I had an incredibly strong community behind me that I didn’t want to disappoint. Additionally, I really enjoyed streaming. Therefore, the decision was easy, which I haven’t regretted to this day. I am infinitely grateful to all the many people who supported and continue to support me on this journey!
Of course, success is important when you decide to take this step and your livelihood depends on it. Nevertheless, what matters more to me is that I remain myself and approach things with enjoyment.
Is it also important to follow trends when a game (like Destiny 2) isn’t performing well?
Even though it is our job, I believe no streamer should play a game that doesn’t bring them joy just to attract more viewers.
The Transition to Fortnite
Since when have you been playing Fortnite?
I have been playing Fortnite since the beginning/middle of Season 2. At first, I was very skeptical. After a few matches, I started adjusting my key bindings and gradually getting into the building system. At that time, I realized more and more how much fun I have with the game, and since then I play Fortnite 99% of the time!
Is your community going along with this change, or do you have to rebuild it?
From what I have sensed, my community has not taken the transition very well. A large part has no interest in Fortnite. Therefore, I am very grateful to the people who still stand by me and also appreciate many new people who are joining us through Fortnite.
How did you meet your Fortnite duo partner?
One of my first experiences with Carnifexed was in one of the solo tournaments by Trymacs when he followed me for minutes to ultimately snipe me in the back.
Contact ultimately developed through common viewers who noticed that we could possibly harmonize well. Apparently, they were right.
How did your first tournament together go?
When the German duo qualification for the “War Legend’s PAN-European Cup” took place, we played our first tournament together, qualified among the top 6 German duo teams for the cup, and ended with the best ranking as the top German team in the finals. So it went quite well for our first tournament together.
18,000$ Prize Money in Duo
How did you land in the “Fortnite Summer Skirmish 500,000 $ Tournament (Week 3)” and how did it go for both of you?
When I found out from Carnifexed that he received an invitation for the event and registered me as his duo partner, I was of course completely shocked and grateful for this chance and his trust.
In the end, we reached 9th place and won 18,000 $ in prize money, which we are absolutely happy about! But it must also be mentioned that we learned a lot and will work on it. We are firmly convinced that we still have a lot of potential for improvement and will give our best!
Will we see you again soon in the “Summer Skirmish”?
I hope so! This Saturday we both got to play in the Solo Summer Skirmish, and we hope to get another chance in the next duo skirmish!
As a closing remark: What tips do you have for Fortnite players?
Practice, practice, practice! You can best learn to build in the current “Creative” mode.
Familiarize yourself with key bindings and try to find the best settings for yourself.
Don’t just play defensively for wins. If you want to learn the game, seek out fights and try to learn from your mistakes.
Additionally, in my opinion, you can learn a lot on Twitch. Observe good players and try to understand their decisions. If something is unclear, just use the live chat! Many streamers who can still follow the chat will gladly help you!
For the Diablo-like MMORPG MU Legend, things have not gone well during the Open Beta so far. Now the successor to MU Origin is celebrating its release. The game is set to take off via Steam. The expansion “Noria” helps with this.
Soft launch: Until now, MU Legend was in an open beta, a so-called soft launch. There has been no wipe of progress since the beta started, and none is planned.
Since early November 2017, players could hack through masses of enemies with one of 5 available classes. However, the “Diablo MMO” did not become particularly large.
Again and again, criticism arises that MU Legend has turned too much on the grind knob and the cash shop after a hopeful phase before the start of the open beta.
Second attempt on Steam – Now officially released
Bigger, further, better. With the release on Steam, Webzen is trying to win new players for MU Legend. The Steam release marks the end of the open beta and simultaneously the launch of the game. Developer Webzen celebrates this with the first official expansion for the game.
The Noria expansion adds the eponymous continent to MU Legend, where players can unleash their skills. New quests, dungeons, and exceptional rewards await the players here.
Etherdrain is your base city in the new continent.
What the update brings for MU Legend’s release
Additionally, the update includes numerous other new contents:
In the airship defense, you must face waves of enemies while defending the Odyssey reactor in the middle of the ship. If you survive all 20 waves, you will receive additional rewards.
The revised leveling is intended to be easier for new players and more convenient for existing players.
The companion system has been enhanced with a new companion mechanic. Companions in MU Legend are cute pets that follow you everywhere and give you a passive bonus to your stats.
The new amulet system allows players to continue improving beyond the maximum level. Once you have reached the maximum level with a talisman, you can start a “breakthrough”. This will increase your stats even beyond the maximum level.
In the Blood Castle, you must defeat waves of enemies within a certain time. From level 45, you can progress further into the Blood Castle dungeon. There, you must eliminate all enemies within 10 minutes. The faster you are, the better the reward.
The continent of Noria.
Being involved is worth it: Returning players receive a free character boost to level 70 so they can start with the new content right away. But new players will also be rewarded for playing with wings, jewels, costumes, and other items.
To do this, all you have to do is complete one of the missions on the official event website in the game and claim them on the website for yourself.
Initial feedback is rather balanced
An uncut diamond. On Steam, some players have already played MU Legend and left feedback. At the current time (08.08.2018), 50% of the Steam reviews are positive. Thus, MU Legend appeals to about half of all players who have tried it.
The path to the maximum level is liked by almost all players. The grind for better equipment is motivating, and the great gameplay with beautiful animations is fun.
Players have a lot of freedom in character customization. They can focus on high attack speed, significantly reduce ability cooldowns, or increase their crit chance.
The performance of the game is poor for a few players.
Anyone looking to advance in the endgame must prepare for a long grind or spend money.
Interested players can download the F2P game via Steam.

These attacks will be executed in a random order, and it is also a coincidence which player in the group he targets.
Second Phase of the Rathalos Fight in Final Fantasy XIV
At about 80% HP, Rathalos will roar again and deal heavy AOE damage to the group. Afterwards, new monsters will enter the arena. These are sheep, goats, and a Coeurl, which you can otherwise encounter in the first boss fight of the dungeon “Bardam’s Test”.
They will all primarily focus on Rathalos, but their AOEs are very annoying and disruptive. Unlike Rathalos, they have normal aggro behavior and can be tanked. Therefore, it is advisable to take care of them as quickly as possible.
Steppe Sheep: Place a small AOE around themselves, putting asleep any players standing in it.
Steppe Yamaa: Attack Rathalos with unannounced frontal AOEs.
Steppe Coeurl: Performs a massive frontal AOE that causes paralysis. It should be tanked by the tank with the AOE towards the wall.
All attacks from Rathalos also deal damage to the animals. If a player is, for example, targeted by a marked fireball, it is advisable that he stands next to the sheep and goats to ensure they are also hit.
While the animals are on the battlefield, Rathalos will continue to execute the above-mentioned attacks normally, so always keep an eye on what he is currently doing.
DPS Check
At about 70% HP, and after all the animals have been taken down, the DPS check phase of the fight begins. As in the normal mode, a Garula will appear and knock Rathalos over. After that, a DPS should use the special command and jump on his back.
The remaining group must now defeat the Garula as quickly as possible so that they can hide behind its corpse from Rathalos’s fire.
There are two important differences from the normal mode:
Garula deals massive damage to the tank and should be tanked against the wall because it uses an extremely strong frontal AOE. Therefore, the healer should focus on keeping the group alive.
The player climbing onto Rathalos’s back will receive a heavy DoT. He will die quickly if the healer does not take care of him.
The group has about 25 seconds to defeat Garula before Rathalos unleashes his ultimate attack. Otherwise, Garula will run away and the group will wipe.
Third Phase of the Rathalos Fight in Final Fantasy XIV
Rathalos will now fly permanently: This also changes his attack behavior and adds a new mechanic to the fight. While he is in the air, the beast will take significantly reduced damage. However, he now gets a new status bar indicating when the group has inflicted enough damage to bring Rathalos down.
It is not worth dealing with Rathalos using strong abilities while he is still in the air. Rather wait until the bar is full and Rathalos falls down.
Once he is on the ground, he will take increased damage. So keep an eye on the bar and save your buff skills for the moment Rathalos comes down.
From this phase onward, all abilities that regenerate HP will also have no effect. Healers should focus on damage and removing negative status effects such as Burning Wound and Poison.
After Rathalos returns to the battle arena, the group should immediately spread out again to avoid his first attack.
As Rathalos is now permanently in the air, his set of attacks has also changed:
Charge: The attack changes in that Rathalos now attacks with his claws from the air. He will again target a random player, roar, and fly toward him. His attack now inflicts not only extremely high damage but also poison, which must be removed as quickly as possible.
Rathalos will execute this attack multiple times in succession. To dodge, players must run out of his way.
Triple Fireball: This is the second mechanic that is actually displayed. A random player in the group will receive an AOE marker, followed by three fireballs from Rathalos. They work as follows:
Players must gather next to the marker to share the damage.
Each fireball leaves an AOE puddle on the ground that will remain for a very long time. Therefore, players must keep moving after each fireball. Place your puddles such that they do not obstruct your movement on the field.
With each fireball, affected players receive a stack of “Burning Wound” DoT. It does not hurt too much, but it should be removed with Medica or a similar ability by at least 3-4 stacks.
A tank can and should take their fireball stack alone. This reduces the number of players who later need Medica from the healer.
Fegende Flames: Similar to the first phase, Rathalos will turn towards the player and fire will appear in his mouth, which he will then spit out. It causes heavy damage and gives the player a Burning Wound stack.
Once the group has managed to fill the “Come Down” bar, Rathalos will crash.
On the first crash, the group will have the option to attack his tail, which they should do. If the HP of the tail can be brought to 0 before Rathalos recovers, he will suffer massive damage.
If you have a mage or ranged fighter in the group, they can use their Limit burst at this moment to hit both the tail and Rathalos for high damage.
Afterwards, Rathalos will rotate through the above-listed abilities until the end of the fight. No further surprises will come.
You will likely manage to fill his bar two to three more times and bring him to the ground. If his tail is already severed by then, you can just attack him directly. So keep your eyes open and you will get through the fight well.
Good luck farming!
The summer event Fire Moon Dance is coming to Final Fantasy XIV soon:
Rathalos from Monster Hunter: World terrorizes the world of Final Fantasy XIV. We have created a guide for you to the Extreme version of the fight, so you can snag the cool loot from Rathalos (Heavy).
The fight against Rathalos in FFXIV is very different from other trials. It has special mechanics taken from MHW to keep Rathalos as authentic as possible.
Guide: King of the Skies
Where can I find the extreme version? After defeating the normal version of Rathalos in a group of 8 players, you can take on the challenge in the extreme version:
Quest Name: The King of the Skies Returns
Location: Kugane (X: 9.7 / Y: 8.9)
NPC: Monster Hunter
Requirements: Completion of the quest “King of the Skies”, item level 350+
What are the features of the EX version? The extreme trial is similar to the normal version in many mechanics; however, there are two important differences:
A maximum of 4 players are allowed to participate. The group composition can consist of any jobs.
The players in the group can go down a maximum of 3 times: A total of 3 KOs is allowed during the entire fight, not 3 times per player.
Players therefore have much more individual responsibility than in the normal version and must always know what Rathalos is doing and who he is currently targeting.
As in the normal version, there are no ground indicators when Rathalos executes his attacks, and players must pay attention to how the beast moves and who he looks at to dodge in time.
Strategy for Rathalos EX in Final Fantasy XIV
Before the Fight
Rathalos appears to be a chaotic fight at first glance. However, you can quickly get used to it. Generally, there are some rules of thumb to follow to deal with the fight effectively:
Medica is a must for healers: Without this ability, the fight is very hard. Ideally, you should bring a Scholar with Selene’s “Fairy Wind” ability. “Paean of the Guardian” from the Bard or “Erasure” from the mages is helpful in later phases.
Healers should never revive: Players can return and continue participating in the fight. Normal rising does not incur disadvantages like weakness, and you regain full HP and MP immediately.
Save the Mega-Potions for the last phase: As in the normal version, the healers can use their magic in the first phase, and they should do so. The potions should be saved for the phase in which healing magic is blocked.
Try to spread out during the fight in the arena: Even though Rathalos always targets one player, all of his attacks are AOEs. If you have aggro and are near group members, you risk hitting them as well.
Don’t get one-shot: If your HP in the group is below approximately 40,000, you should equip Constitution Materia until you exceed 40,000. Most of Rathalos’s attacks deal such high damage that they would instantly kill any player with HP below 40,000 without shields. High HP gives you a chance to survive.
All attacks can stun: If you get hit by several attacks in succession and survive, your character will be briefly stunned.
Rule of Thumb: If Rathalos turns towards you, run to the side!
The fight does not have super complicated mechanics, as one might know from other EX trials. In general, you should always keep an eye on Rathalos and be careful of which movements he performs to successfully dodge his attacks.
First Phase of the Rathalos Fight in Final Fantasy XIV
Right at the beginning, Rathalos will roar. It is an AOE. He reduces the group’s HP by about 40%. Healers should, therefore, ideally set up shields beforehand to absorb the damage. Rathalos will use this attack multiple times throughout the fight.
Rathalos will also use his attacks from the normal mode in this fight, but they now hurt much more.
Tail Swipe: This is a 180° attack that hits all players near Rathalos. The attack causes high damage and can stun players. It is usually executed two to three times.
Shortly before executing the attack, Rathalos will bend his head, roar and swing his tail to the side. He always looks in the direction from which the tail swipe will come. When he does this, melee fighters should position themselves in front of him, at his knees, to avoid the attack while still being able to attack.
Maul: Rathalos will perform an attack where he spits fire in front of him and strikes behind him with his tail. You can recognize this attack when Rathalos lifts his tail shortly before and small flames come out of his mouth. To dodge, you should get away from him as quickly as possible.
Charge: Rathalos will target a player to charge at, causing massive damage. Anyone in his path will also take damage.
This attack is preceded by the beast turning towards the player, leaning forward, and loudly roaring. Players need to run to the side immediately to dodge the attack.
Flame Recoil: It is one of Rathalos’s more difficult attacks. It involves a fireball that deals significant damage, can stun players, and is hard to recognize.
When Rathalos is about to cast this attack, he will turn towards the targeted player, raise his wings slightly, and hold still for a few moments.
Fire Breath: This fireball mechanic is one of the few that is actually displayed as AOE on the ground in this fight. It targets a player, who will receive a marker. This player will then be hit by a fireball and receive a stack of the DoT “Burning Wound”.
The attack itself causes about 20,000 HP damage, and the burning wound stacks will become stronger the more a character is hit by the fireball. Therefore, it should ideally be removed with Medica or a similar ability.

In the lead-up to the Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2, Bungie went over the changes to weapon mods and the masterwork system for legendary weapons in its combat live stream on Twitch. We summarize the details for you.
Forsaken will introduce numerous changes to Destiny 2 – including weapon mods and the legendary masterwork weapons. In the latest stream, the developers revealed several new details about this.
This is how the mods change with Forsaken
Regarding the already known changes to the mod system, there are now new details on how the mods will change with the Forsaken expansion. Here is an overview of the most important new facts:
Weapon Mods
Weapon mods will in the future be obtained from weapons that drop with mods. Disassembling the weapon will move the mod to your inventory, where it can then be reused.
Mods will no longer provide +5 Power and will no longer determine the elemental damage of a weapon. The element of a legendary weapon will be set to the equipped element at the release of Forsaken.
The nine mods shown in the stream are not all that Year 2 has to offer. There will be additional mods (such as bonus damage against specific enemy races).
All legendary weapons now have a mod slot.
Exotic weapons will not be able to use mods.
These weapon mods are currently known:
Backup Mag: Increases magazine size.
Freehand Grip: Increases precision and weapon readiness speed when shooting from the hip.
Icarus Grip: Increases precision in the air.
Targeting Adjuster: Improves target acquisition.
Radar Tuner: The radar is immediately visible again when leaving the aiming view.
Minor Spec: Grants bonus damage against smaller enemies (presumably Red Bars).
Major Spec: Grants bonus damage against powerful enemies (presumably Yellow Bars).
Boss Spec: Grants bonus damage against bosses and vehicles.
Counterbalance Stock: Reduces recoil.
Armor Mods
Armor mods will be cross-class starting from Forsaken.
Mod stacking is not class-specific – each class can equip up to five grenade mods, for example.
Super cooldown mods are back.
This is how the masterwork system for legendary weapons changes
There will also be significant changes on the way to a legendary masterwork weapon:
There will be ten masterwork levels. This allows for up to +10% on a stat, with hand cannons also allowing for range. At level 10, you receive the complete masterwork.
Upgrades will cost masterwork cores, glimmer, and legendary shards. To reach level 10, you need a total of 10,000 glimmer, 27 legendary shards, and 17 masterwork cores.
At level 7, you receive a kill counter, where you can freely switch between PvP and PvE at any time.
For more details about numerous changes, you can read in our stream article.
What do you think of the changes that have been announced so far? Are we finally heading in the right direction, or are the changes not far enough for you?
Monster Hunter Worldwill be released on August 9 on PC. The action RPG will be available for digital download on Steam this Thursday. We asked Capcom when you can start the download: Here is the exact time.
Release is on August 9 at 6:00 PM
When can the download for Monster Hunter World be started? At 6:00 PM German time.
Will there be a pre-load? There will probably not be a pre-load. This is also rather unusual for Steam.
What content will MHW have on PC? No exact version number is known yet. According to Capcom, the developers are working on the content of the game until the last minute. Capcom will release more details about additional content soon.
Update August 9: In a recently received press release, Capcom writes: “Additional content and collaborations that were released after the [initial] release of Monster Hunter: World will be available for free on PC at a later date. “
The download is now available to all players (August 8, 6:00 PM) as planned on Steam.

A new update for Star Wars: The Old Republic is live. Patch 5.9 “Galactic Legend” focuses on the PvP experience of the MMO. There are a handful of new content aimed specifically at fans of player-versus-player skirmishes. For a long time, fans have been waiting for good news in PvP.

Shorter waiting times for PvP matches, thanks to cross-group sign-ups
Fans are longing for new content. Although PvP players welcome the update and are happy about the changes to the PvP content, many fans are thirsty for new content. They expect the imminent announcement of a major expansion – even though there are currently no indications of this.
Are you still playing SWTOR and enjoying the new PvP update?
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
In the combat stream on Tuesday night, Bungie showcased a lot of changes that Destiny 2 is experiencing with Forsaken. Everyone who missed the stream can now watch the PvP matches in a video.
Bungie presented some new features in the recent combat stream that PvP players can look forward to in Destiny 2 with Forsaken. In two matches, the developers faced off against each other.
They showcased not only some of the nine new supers but also the new weapon system. In the upcoming expansion, primary, secondary, and heavy weapons are no longer necessarily tied to their respective slots. In one round, Community Manager Cozmo decided to carry a shotgun in each of the three weapon slots.
Particular attention was given to the Solar Titan, whose new path Code of the Devastator was seen in action several times. His super generates a flaming hammer that can be swung around and knocks opponents right out of their boots. Also demonstrated was the melee attack, where hammers are thrown, remain in the world, and can be picked up again.
We summarized further highlights from the combat stream in our live ticker:
Epic means business when it comes to Fortnite and cheats. A cheating company from Germany received a cease-and-desist letter from the Frankfurt District Court. The company is now throwing in the towel. This likely means that some cheats have been taken out of circulation.
Cheats from German lands: A company from Pfaffenhofen, EngineOwning, has been distributing cheats for games like Call of Duty and Battlefield for several years, according to its own statements. They also tried to enter Fortnite. It would have been better if they hadn’t.
The boss of the company admits on his website that he is stopping his work and now wants to sell his company.
Cease-and-desist letter from the USA was ignored
Activision was no problem: The boss writes (via EngineOwning) that he started developing cheats at the age of 14 and has gained quite a bit of experience in the last 4 years.
They did receive a cease-and-desist letter from Activision regarding Call of Duty, and they reportedly sent a private investigator after the cheaters.
But that was not a problem. Because Activision’s letter came from the USA. Here in Germany, the cheat manufacturer felt secure. They believed nothing “serious” could happen.
Bossland changes the situation: However, Activision-Blizzard has conducted numerous lawsuits against the cheat company “Bossland” from Zwickau in recent years before German courts. Ultimately, the courts ruled in favor of Activision-Blizzard.
The once-thriving bot company Bossland gradually lost ground. They had to stop their products, pay high court costs, and ultimately give up.
There, the developer of the Call of Duty and Fortnite cheats realized that the tide was turning.
Epic means business: From Epic, then, there was no letter from the USA, but one from the Frankfurt District Court. The cheater does not want to contest this cease-and-desist order but prefers to close his company instead.
The court’s letter was published in a forum as evidence that Epic means business and that the operator of the cheats has no other choice but to close down. Source: High-Minded.
He is afraid that he will ruin himself and his company if he contests this cease-and-desist order.
Fortnite cheat included aimbot and wallhack
What kind of cheat was this? The cheat for Fortnite has not been offered for a while now. User reviews (via EngineOwning) indicate that the cheat had the following features:
A radar that shows enemy players and reveals the location of containers and their contents
A wallhack
An aimbot that disables bullet drop and also likely eliminates spread
What do his customers say?
The direct customers of EngineOwning are shocked. They had always had the best cheats.
In a hacker forum, the development is viewed critically. One critic there believes it was a mistake to develop cheats for Fortnite. They are known for their harsh measures. He accuses the cheat manufacturer of being “naive.”
This is what it’s about: Epic takes a hard stance against providers of cheats and hacks. They seem to want to build a reputation that clearly says: “Don’t even try.”
Thanks to our reader David. He brought this story to our attention.
We have already reported on the bizarre case of a convinced cheater:
Nothing new, right? Fixes are nothing new for PUBG at first glance. In past updates, bugs have been addressed repeatedly. However, this did not always meet player expectations.
In the new Fix-The-Game campaign, the focus is solely on fixing bugs, implementing quality-of-life features, and improving performance.
What’s on the “Fix the Game” agenda
No distractions: If the campaign’s plan is to be believed, then the bugs that have long annoyed fans will actually be fixed now. Players have long complained that the game runs “unsteady.” New game modes or other gimmicks that could distract from bug fixes are not on the agenda.
An excerpt from the Fix-PUBG roadmap
The beginning is a patch: At the start, there was already a patch for the live servers that allows additional graphic options such as “Sharpening” or setting the FPS limit. Players can also mute their teammates. Several bug fixes are included in this first patch.
Roadmap for planned tasks: In a roadmap, the PUBG developers show what work is upcoming. In August, it will focus on character optimizations and further improvements to client performance. Server performance, anti-cheat, and matchmaking are also on the agenda.
In addition, PUBG has launched a website for Fix-PUBG, where you can see in detail what exactly is planned.
Not just for PC: Many of the improvements for the PC version will also be transferred directly to the Xbox version.
What does the community say?
Positive feedback: On Reddit, many users are pleased that PUBG is openly addressing the current issues, involving the community, and wants to actively improve the game.
User kuroti writes: I am very proud of you at PUBG Corp. If this works and you manage to keep your promises and “fix” PUBG, you will have a solid game for the coming years.
To this, community manager PUBG_Hawkinz responded that the player experience needs to be improved and the game needs repairs. That is what they are doing now.
Now players are eager to see if the plan of the PUBG developers will work. What do you think of the campaign?
In advance of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta on PC, Treyarch has now announced the system requirements. Your PC should meet these minimum requirements to participate in the beta this weekend.
For PC gamers, the time is finally here next weekend: starting on August 10 at 7 PM, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Private Beta will also launch for their platform – but initially only for those who have pre-ordered the game.
Everyone else can join a day later, on Saturday, August 11, at 7:00 PM. All you need for this Open Beta phase is a Battle.net account. The beta will remain active on PC until August 13 at 7 PM.
The battle for Azeroth is already raging in World of Warcraft. The Alliance is marching against Undercity!
Just a week ago, the cinematic was revealed in World of Warcraft, where Sylvanas ignited Teldrassil and extinguished a large part of the civilization of the Night Elves. Now, the Alliance seeks revenge and plans to conquer the Eastern Kingdoms – the battle for Undercity has begun!
Revenge for Darnassus. The Alliance is calling for a counterattack. In response to the burning of Teldrassil, Anduin leads the troops of the Alliance to take revenge on Sylvanas. Following a swift attack, Brill is annihilated and a path of destruction is carved through Tirisfal – there, the Alliance forces take their positions.
A scenario in two variants. Depending on whether you are playing as the Alliance or Horde, you will see the scenario from different perspectives – however, the general process is the same. Alliance players attempt to storm and conquer the Undercity, while Horde members prepare defenses and aim to repel the enemy troops. It’s a constant back and forth – we won’t reveal the exact outcome of the battle just yet.
Anyone who wants to see the three cinematics from the event immediately can check them out here:
How can you participate in the battle of Undercity?
Undercity for all players. The battle for Undercity is part of the pre-event for Battle for Azeroth and is therefore available to all players – regardless of whether they have purchased Battle for Azeroth or not. After the server maintenance on August 8, 2018, the starting quest should be available. The quest begins automatically when you are in a capital city and have completed the other steps of the pre-event “War of the Thorns”. Anduin or Sylvanas calls you to their side.
Have you played the battle for Undercity yet? How did you like the scenario and which side are you on?
The PS4 version of the battle royale shooter H1Z1 has exited the open beta phase and is getting a battle pass model. Here are all the details about the release of the free-to-play shooter. Although the release of H1Z1 is a bit rocky with a server down on PS4.
What is H1Z1? H1Z1 is a battle royale shooter that primarily reminds of the big competitor PUBG on PS4.
As in other battle royale games, the play area in H1Z1 narrows over time. Up to 100 players compete as solo fighters or in groups on a large map, fighting until only one player/group remains alive.
Beta phase over: The open beta of H1Z1 on PS4 has been running for several months. Now the developer studio Daybreak announces the official release. H1Z1 is officially out of beta and thus a full-fledged free-to-play title. The servers went online on August 7th.
There won’t be any changes to the gameplay; a battle pass and various starter bundles will be unlocked at launch.
All about the new battle pass
What is the battle pass? The battle pass is a type of season pass that unlocks various content. However, players must complete specific tasks to do so.
Three different battle passes: The battle pass will have three different versions:
A battle pass for everyone (free),
A premium pass (costs €5),
which will be free for plus members.
The advantages of the premium pass are that players can buy certain rewards with crowns that other players can only obtain by completing tasks.
Without crowns, players must earn specific medals to fulfill these requirements. 10 of these medals will grant you a promotion to the next rank of the battle pass.
How do PS4 players earn medals? You earn medals through
completing daily challenges,
and leveling up your season level. This increases automatically as you play and earn EXP.
What happens to the skulls you earned in beta?
A new currency: All skulls you earned in beta will be converted into a new currency. Skulls will become credits. 50 skulls equal one credit.
Earn medals: The daily challenges that previously rewarded you with skulls will now instead provide medals that you can use to level up your battle pass. The exchange option will be available from the release.
The new credits
Credits are the new currency introduced in the PS4 version of H1Z1. With these, you can purchase items like skins and outfits. Certain items will be available in a store whose offerings change regularly.
How do I earn credits? Initially, primarily through double skins and items you should sell. As you reach higher battle pass levels, you will earn more credits.

During the open beta, numerous players apparently took a look at H1Z1. The online shooter was the most downloaded F2P title on PS4 in June. According to developer Daybreak, over 10 million players registered in the beta.
10 million new players in our first month in open beta is an incredible milestone, and our entire development team has worked tirelessly to build on that early success.
Minor issues at H1Z1’s release with the server down on PS4
When does H1Z1 launch on PS4? The launch was originally announced for 19:00. However, the release has been slightly delayed. There have repeatedly been problems and patches. Currently, the H1Z1 PS4 servers are still down, but Daybreak is on it. It should start soon.

This evening, there will be the big stream from Bungie about the combat in Destiny 2 from Forsaken. Here with us, you can follow the live stream on MAX starting at 7:00 PM. We are also tweeting in German at Mein MMO.
What will happen this evening?? Destiny is launching the “Year 2 Combat Reveal Stream.” Cynically one might say: It is the illustrated announcement of exactly how the gameplay changes with Forsaken.
More kindly put: The stream is expected to present the changes in PvP and PvE that are planned for Destiny 2 starting from the expansion “Forsaken”.
What can we expect? The big questions for PvP players will be:
It is already clear that the “time to kill” will drop and therefore the speed in combat will increase. The question is: How far will it go down?
Perhaps we will also see some new weapons or catch a glimpse of one or the other surprise. Bungie has had a long “reveal marathon” in which they have revealed a lot about Forsaken through the magazine “Game Informer”. Perhaps they still have something left for their own stream.
Where can you watch it? The stream starts today, on August 7th, at 7 PM. You can follow the stream here:
https://www.twitch.tv/bungie
Live ticker: We will traditionally accompany the stream on Mein MMO with a live ticker in German. There, you can read along during the stream or later find out what exactly was shown. And you can also see in the comments what other readers think of what is being shown.
The big live ticker for the stream on Mein MMO
5:00 PM: If you’d like to get in the mood, here is the announcement clip. It starts at 7 PM.

6:30 PM: Even though “Forsaken” is often mentioned ahead of the stream, everyone will receive those combat updates being presented today. This is regardless of whether someone buys Forsaken or not. The changes will come with the big update that will be released for free and for everyone.
What’s next for Destiny 2?
6:34: On August 28, already in 3 weeks, the big “pre-Forsaken” patch will be released. This will already bring the changes to the weapon slots. That should ultimately be the “new combat” that Bungie will present today.
One week later, on September 4, the Forsaken patch will come with random rolls on weapons and the new mod system.
6:36 PM: So we already know most of the details before today’s reveal. It will now be about clarifying some detail questions.
6:47: Those who thought, “Well, Bungie must rethink after Destiny 2 and become a little less commercial,” will probably be disappointed. It did look a bit like it was going in that direction, after hearing self-critical tones.
Some even wished that Bungie would give away Forsaken for free “out of remorse.” But the trailers and actions are still running at full throttle and head in a completely different direction.

6:50: I know many people want to let themselves be hyped in peace and not hear any dissonances ahead of Forsaken, but … I would have wished for different signals from Bungie than “Pre-order and get back Pik-Ass. Avenge Cayde-6 by pre-ordering now.”
6:53: Hopefully, this doesn’t cause any trouble. Greetings to the Destiny Defense Force.
6:55: In connection with this evening. Present will be:
DeeJ: he has been promoted and is now “Communications Director”
Josh Hamrick: he is the “hat guy” from back then, now Sandbox Design Lead – so still the one who nerfs Hunters
Greg Peng: Senior Sandbox Designer
Claude Jerome: Senior Gameplay Designer
By the way, I need a cooler title myself. I should promote myself somehow. Major or something.
6:58: A bit strange that nothing is happening yet. Normally, there should have been a sound check by now, but the stream is still offline.
6:59: Ah, now things are moving. They say it starts at 7:10 PM.
7:02: Bungie tweeted an image from the studio. Hat guy Josh Hamrick is the one in the hat in the middle. DeeJ is on the right, Greg Peng is probably on the left.
The live stream for the combat reveal in Destiny 2 begins
7:13: Topics today
Weapon balance
Skill balance
New features
Bungie wants to give us enough information today so that we can think about how we want to play starting September.
Star players should shine again
7:14: Goals in year 2 are,
to give players more options. Those who want to play offensively and quickly should be able to do so. Those who want to play slower and more defensively should be able to tailor their character accordingly.
make loot more interesting so players stay with Destiny 2 longer
the meta should not remain static, but change and stay fresh longer
want to bring more heroic moments into the game by increasing the skill gap. In the “right hands,” Destiny should be insane and give the best players the chance to shine.
7:16:9 new supers will provide variety and give everyone a new way to play. They have adjusted all sorts of things they found to be too weak.
How the weapon slots are changing
7:19: There are three new icons for weapons indicating ammo “Primary, Special and Heavy.” In the first 2 slots (Primary and Energy), you can have weapons that use Primary and Special. In the 3rd slot only “Heavy.”
7:20: Bows are “Primary” weapons. Some grenade launchers can run on “Special” ammo.
7:21: The idea is that there are more options, but not an outrageous amount. It is possible to play with 3 grenade launchers or 3 shotguns if you want, because there are “Heavy” and “Special” versions of those weapon types.
7:23: The aggro playstyle will probably be Special/Special/Heavy. At least that’s what’s expected by Bungie.
How the random rolls work
7:25: Each time a weapon drops, its complete perk set is re-rolled.
7:26: You can upgrade the weapons to 10 using a “tier” system. Masterwork cores and legendary shards will be consumed. At tier 10, a legendary weapon will then be a masterwork with kill tracker and a stat boost.
How the new mod system works
7:27: Mods no longer give “+5”, but now have a variety of properties that affect the weapon.
7:28: When you dismantle a weapon, you receive the mod of the weapon and can reuse it.
7:30: For those who find it too fast, there is no need to worry. We currently have diligent Destiny 2 authors at Mein MMO who will summarize and explain the essentials in detailed articles tomorrow.
7:33: By the way, around 85,000 viewers are watching.
Everything is going to be a little deadlier in Destiny 2
7:34: Bungie’s big balance goal is that players always have options and can react to everything. One change has made a lot of difference. Guardians die from:
2 melee hits
and 3 headshots
Shoulder attacks from Titans and similar skills kill again instantly
The combat has become faster, say the designers. Since switching from the “3-melee” to a “2-melee” meta, they also had to increase other damage sources.
7:37: They have adjusted the supers and played around with balance. Golden Gun should last longer (2 seconds). Other supers like Tether should be more reliable. At the end of the stream, there will be a live demonstration of the changed game in the crucible.
7:41: We switch live to the Mein MMO editorial staff. Our Destiny expert Sven is currently murmuring: “TTK is noticeably shorter,” while Micha agrees and comments on a super in the stream with “OMG.” Thanks for that. Back to me.
7:44: Bow action in the stream. I’m sure some Guardians at home are indulging in “Hawkeye” power fantasies. Or “Arrow”, if you prefer DC.
7:46: The demonstration takes place in private matches and they have practically set the respawn timer to 0.
7:48: Important bonus info. Armor also has random rolls and its own mod system. That sounds very good.
7:50: New Hunter super “Blade Barrage” – For those who like Golden Gun but don’t feel like aiming. That was pretty good.
7:51: Exotic weapons can’t use either random rolls or mods. They are fixed.
Relaxed atmosphere in the stream – changes seem to be well received
7:52: The player has to listen to some remarks from the guys sitting in their chairs saying things like “I would have sunk that one too” or “I could have seen that one coming”.
7:55: The sandbox designers promise that some old exotic armor pieces will have great synergies with the new meta. It’s a relaxed atmosphere in the stream compared to previous designers. Surprisingly little speaking time for DeeJ and a lot of time for designers who seem to have a good understanding of what they are talking about.
7:57: DeeJ says the people in the chat are satisfied with what they see. In the next round, community manager Cosmo plays with 3 shotguns.
8:01: It seems that the atmosphere at Bungie is a kind of “big boys have fun” club. Hamrick just noted that the pistol from the Twitch overlay is aimed directly at Claude Jerome’s private parts. He then crossed his legs and moved aside. They seem to be in a good mood and are confident that the changes will be well received.
Clear roles in PvP with matching loadouts
8:05 Especially in Gambit, there should be clear roles in PvP that can be better fulfilled with special loadouts than with others. Players can then specialize in a specific task, like Cosmo now with 3 shotguns, going full melee.
8:07: I think I need the super with the giant hammer for my Titan. Sven has fallen in love with the bow. While Micha struggles to accept that DeeJ doesn’t know what a luck pants is (Hunter Exotic).
8:08: Grenades serve as “openers” for fights in Destiny 2. They are not one-shot kills.
End of August, the systems will come – with Forsaken the content
8:14: At the end of August, a lot of what we are seeing now will come. The changes to the Year 1 weapons and the weapon slots. It will be a strange time when the new systems are there but the content that fits them isn’t yet.
8:15: The stream is slowly winding down after a little over an hour. You can tell that the intensity is decreasing as the second match approaches its end. We will prepare the information that has been provided here on Mein MMO in precise articles.
It definitely looks like Bungie is relaxed and confident that the changes will convince the players. They have implemented much of the feedback from the players and seem to have focused on the desires of the Destiny 1 players and streamers.
Destiny 2 Forsaken feels significantly “more thought-out” and “rounded” than Destiny
8:22: The changes to the weapon slots, the mods, also upgrading and the random rolls feel significantly more thought-out and reasonable than the systems with which Destiny 2 launched in September 2017. Back then, it was noticeable that much of it simply wasn’t finished and looked like a quick fix.
There is nothing extremely innovative about the new systems, but they seem like solid and well-rounded changes. Critics will first want to play it for a final judgment.
That’s it from us at Mein MMO. We’ll be back tomorrow with our coverage of Destiny 2.
In Destiny 2 today, on August 7th, the Weekly Reset occurs again. With the weekly reset, new activities such as the Nightfall strike or the Flashpoint can now be played. The weekly Crucible playlist is also rotating again.
The new week begins with a highlight: Simultaneously with the Weekly Reset, Bungie’s Combat live stream starts today, August 7th, 2018, at 7 PM.
There, the eagerly awaited updates to the weapon system and the sandbox of Destiny 2: Forsaken will finally be presented in detail. You can follow the stream today here on Mein MMO. As always, we will be live-tweeting for you.
Nightfall starting August 7th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Hearthstone expands with 135 new cards. The addon “Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab” goes live tonight!
Update 07.08.2018, 19.00 Uhr: Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab is now live!
Original message: In Hearthstone, there are many cards to collect and crazy combinations to try out, as the latest expansion Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab will go live tonight (August 7, 2018)!
When does Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab start? In Europe, the launch of a new Hearthstone expansion usually takes place in the early evening hours. It should be around 7 PM for us, provided there are no delays.
Please keep in mind that there may be queues in the first hours, as many players want to log into Hearthstone at the same time. It could take a few minutes to achieve that.
What’s new in Dr. Boom’s Lab?
135 new cards: A total of 135 new cards are waiting for players in the new packs. As usual, the packs can be bought for real money, earned gold, or as rewards from the Arena. If you haven’t checked out the new cards yet, you should take a look at them now. We have neatly sorted them in this post:
“Magnetic” and legendary spells. Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab has a new keyword on the cards, namely magnetic. Magnetic cards are always mechs and can connect with another mech that is already on the field. That mech then receives all stats and card texts of the magnetic card, allowing players to create their own super-mech. Additionally, every class has received a legendary spell with a particularly strong effect.

PvE mode not until a few weeks: Every Hearthstone expansion also comes with a single-player mode that presents players with special tasks. In Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab, players have to solve various card puzzles to avoid lethal damage or eliminate the opponent in one turn. However, this PvE mode will only be unlocked in two weeks, so it will be available starting August 22, 2018.
The After-Hours Update in GTA 5 Online brings new vehicles in the coming weeks. One of them sounds so overpowered that players are questioning Rockstar.
Players complain after leak: The complete content of the After-Hours DLC has not yet been released for all players. This happens gradually. Data miners have taken a closer look at what the community can expect. And many are upset about the results. A flying motorcycle with a rocket defense system is said to be on its way.
Futuristic Motorcycle as a Destroyer of Online Sessions
With missiles: The Oppressor Mk. II is a state-of-the-art flying motorcycle equipped with missiles and a defense system. Data miners from FoxySnaps have already located the vehicle in the code.

Predecessor motorcycle was already annoying: There is already a predecessor to the flying motorcycle shown above in GTA 5 Online. It had already earned a reputation for being frequently used by trolls who would chase and constantly shoot you.
New motorcycle even worse? The Oppressor Mk. II is said to be (on the ground) even faster. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with better missiles and explosive machine guns than the predecessor. The rocket defense system on board the vehicle makes it even stronger.
Concern for online sessions: You earn your money in GTA 5 Online through arms dealing, drug trafficking, or other lucrative illegal activities. However, you must play in online mode. Where other players can attack you. With the new Oppressor Mk. II, players fear that online sessions will become even more annoying.
The community is worried: The features of the Oppressor Mk II sound like all the fun would be lost if a troll chases a player online with it. The reactions are clear – players are wondering why Rockstar would even add such a vehicle.
On Reddit, user ChefDJH writes: “Winner of the Griefer Choice Awards 2018”. User Fr0gg0 writes: “Are you kidding? That means forever solo sessions”.
There are also many discussions on Twitter about this topic:

On Twitter, Rockstar has now confirmed that the Oppressor Mk. II will indeed find its way into GTA 5 Online. Reactions to the announcement are mixed.
Some don’t want flying vehicles: One Twitter user clearly speaks out against flying cars and motorcycles. He wants a GTA with biker and nightclub vibes, not Star Wars.

No date known: Now everyone is eagerly waiting for when the Oppressor Mk. 2 finds its way into the online sessions of GTA 5. Perhaps the bike only seemed “overpowered” at first glance and will show itself balanced in the game.
Whether the harsh criticism from some community members is justified remains to be seen.

Sylvanas resorts to drastic measures. After the battle for Undercity is going poorly and the Alliance continues to advance, Sylvanas locks herself in the throne room and waits for the conquerors of the city. Anduin presents Sylvanas with the choice: She should surrender or die forever.
Sylvanas has, however, prepared a little secret and unleashes the plague throughout Undercity. Lordaeron will be tainted and uninhabitable for a long time.

Undercity playable tomorrow. In Europe, the battle for Undercity is only playable tomorrow. After the maintenance on August 8, 2018, all players can dive into the siege of Undercity – depending on faction, the characters are either on the offensive or defensive.
What do you think of the three cutscenes? Brilliant and exciting or predictable, as you expected?
