The end of Season 14 is just a few days away. Shortly after that, Season 15 of Diablo 3 will start.
We are approaching the end of Season 14 in Diablo III at a rapid pace. On September 16th, it ends and then converts all seasonal characters into non-seasonal characters. After that, there will be a few days break until the new Season 15 begins.
End of Season 14
The Diablo team announced that Season 14 will end on Sunday, September 16th, at 5:00 PM German time.
What does that mean? In Diablo 3, seasons are active for about three months. During this time, players can create special seasonal characters. Each player starts again at level 1 and has no equipment or gold from other characters.
It is always a race. Players want to quickly reach the maximum level and compete on the leaderboards.
What happens at the end? When a season ends, the seasonal characters are converted into non-seasonal characters. Experience points, gold, items, or blood shards are then transferred to the non-season.
Start Date of Season 15
A week after the end of S 14, the next season in Diablo 3 will begin. On Friday, September 21st at 5:00 PM, Season 15 will kick off.
No big patch in between? When Diablo 3 planned larger patches, they moved the start of a new season to a Thursday. This was to ensure that any major bugs could be fixed before the weekend. Since Season 15 starts again on a Friday, it is assumed that no major patch will be released for this season.
Special season theme: Season 14 of Diablo 3 runs under the motto “Greed.” All treasure goblins will appear in pairs. This season theme is intended to make the seasons in Diablo 3 more varied and enjoyable.
Whether there will be a special theme in Season 15 and what it will look like is still unknown. However, the team intends to incorporate more of these season themes in the future.
Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) offers a new set of challenges for the new High-Stakes event. This allows you to earn additional goodies for the Wildcard outfits.
What are the requirements for the new challenges? The “High Stakes” event will start with the expected update 5.4 this week. There will be a new outfit that you can purchase in the shop.
However, unlike the Tomatohead Challenge, you do NOT need to buy the corresponding outfit in the shop for the Wildcard challenges. Instead, it will be available to all players for free.
The three new Wildcard challenges for the Getaway mode
What is Getaway?The new Getaway game mode comes with the High Stakes event. In it, you need to find a safe and retrieve a treasure as a team of four. You will then need to safely deliver it to a getaway van despite fierce opposition from other players.

Challenge 1 – Play 10 Getaway matches
What do you need to do? This task is quite simple. You just need to have played 10 matches of the new mode in any way. It only matters that you finish the match regularly each time, either by winning or getting shot. Simply leaving does not count.
What is there to win? Since the task is so simple, you will also receive “only” 5,000 experience points. This is ideal for leveling up customizable outfits like Rift or Ragnarok.
Challenge 2 – Deal 500 damage to an opponent while they are carrying a jewel
What do you need to do? To complete this challenge, you need to actively participate in the game in the Getaway mode and specifically hunt down the opponents who are currently carrying the jewel sculpture. It might take some time before you deal 500 damage.
What is there to win? This tricky task is well rewarded. As a thank you, Epic will give you a cool spray logo featuring the four card symbols of the Wildcard skins.
Challenge 3 – Collect the jewel in 5 different matches
What do you need to do? The hardest task in the challenge requires you to specifically search for and pick up the treasure. You must either be the first to find the safe and open it in front of your teammates or take down a jewel holder and be the first to rip the jewel from their cold, dead hands.
Additionally, it is not enough to collect jewels multiple times in one match. You must complete it in five different games.
What is there to win? Anyone who completes this difficult challenge can look forward to a very cool new item. There will be a special fall animation where your character drags colorful bills behind them.
Is there more?
Bonus reward for completing the entire task: Those who complete all three Wildcard challenges will also receive a harvesting tool in the form of a crowbar.
When does it finally start? Unfortunately, we do not know either, Epic should implement update 5.4 and the Getaway mode during the week. This will likely happen on Wednesday, September 5.

What content does the Battlefield 5 Open Beta offer?
These maps and modes are included in the Open Beta: The Conquest mode for 64 players can be played on the Rotterdam or Arctic Fjord maps. In occupied Holland or Norwegian Narvik, players will then fight for control of important key positions. Both the new barricades and towable weapons or squad reinforcements will be used.
Furthermore, during the Open Beta, two game days of the Grand Operations can be played. This mode is also designed for up to 64 players and can be played on the Arctic Fjord map. As part of the Grand Operations, players will get a glimpse of the Air Assault and Breakthrough modes.

In Destiny 2, the first story mission from Destiny 2 Forsaken is known. It showcases new enemies and plenty of spoilers!
Just before the official launch of Forsaken on September 4th at 7 PM, an embargo on Destiny 2 apparently dropped: Numerous YouTubers were allowed to simultaneously release video footage from the first story mission of the new expansion.
Bungie invited them to have an early look at Forsaken and to play a few activities. According to some YouTubers, more will be revealed about Forsaken in the near future beyond just this story mission.
Warning: Major spoilers ahead! Keep your eyes tightly shut if you do not want to see the mission. However, it should be noted that all cutscenes had to be removed from the videos. You can experience the full first story mission yourself earliest tonight.

The first objective is to find the source of the uprising in the Prison of Elders. Petra tells us that we must put an end to it. If the killers escape, the Reef will be overrun. Cayde-6 suggests splitting up to take out the enemies.
The path leads you to Petra, who gives you the task of getting the security systems back online with Cayde. By the way, there’s an Easter egg along the way. On the way to Petra, a soccer ball is placed right in the middle of the Prison of Elders. Balls have a long tradition in Destiny.

There are always funny and “critical” moments in the mission where Cayde cracks some cool jokes or narrowly escapes death. Knowing that Cayde-6 will die in the Forsaken story, these moments are particularly entertaining.
He says he’s having the best time of his life – after all, he doesn’t like standing around in the Tower and doing his Vanguard duties. At 4:30, he falls down a cliff with a Cabal unit, and our Ghost already calls out in horror, “Caaaaayde,” but then Cayde flies back up by holding onto a hover.
Once the security systems are activated, a cutscene likely follows, during which there’s an explosion. Because afterwards, you see fire in the Prison of Elders and the new objective is to rescue Cayde.
During the mission, you fight against Fallen, against Cabal, against the Hive, and also against the Scorn. The Scorn are new enemies, namely Fallen zombies that do not behave like Fallen anymore, but attack with new weapons and abilities. Read more about the Scorn here.
Starting around minute 14, the Guardian encounters the Scorn. Some enemies swing a fire lantern around. If you shoot this lantern, it explodes and harms nearby enemies.
The mission ends with us learning that Cayde’s ghost is dead and that we must find Cayde as soon as possible. Then, you quickly defeat a particularly ugly ogre – and then the footage ends.

According to Arekkz Gaming, who also published a video about the mission, Forsaken does a really good job of immersing the player directly into the new story. He usually rushes through missions to quickly reach the endgame content, but this mission has captured his interest.

Over the years and through several expansions, numerous factions have accumulated in World of Warcraft, where players could earn reputation. There are now over 100 of them, and it was time for a special achievement. The first players have now earned this success.
Player Gogeta is likely among the first people or even the first person in the world to have played 100 factions to exalted.
How did Gogeta achieve this? Even before the launch of Battle for Azeroth, Gogeta had 96 out of 97 possible factions at exalted. The only exception was the Bloodsail Buccaneers. So he only needed four factions at exalted.
As a human, he received 10% additional reputation for all quests, even during the leveling phase. Along with the buff from the Darkmoon Faire, he was able to not only max out the 7th Legion but also the Champions of Azeroth, the Order of Embers, and the Pride of Kul Tiras.
What reward is there? For the achievement “100 Exalted Factions”, Blizzard created a special mount, the Pureheart Courser. This is a monocorn in white and blue, a different color of the Lucid Nightmare mount.

I just can’t bring myself to finally max out the reputation in the Battle for Azeroth and in the Arathi Basin – I will probably struggle with that for a long time. But completing all other factions already is a great achievement. To Gogeta and everyone who has done the same: I am quite envious. Hats off for this enduring achievement.

A Reddit user Tenzi92 asked out of fear of a ban from Capcom whether the use of certain mods in Monster Hunter: World is allowed. He posted the response of a Capcom employee in the forums.
What has been Capcom’s stance towards mods so far? Shortly before the release of the PC version, producer Ryuzo Tsujimoto stated that the development team has no plans to support mods for MHW.
For a long time, it was unclear whether the use of mods would lead to an account ban.
In the past, Capcom has already taken action against modders who offered paid skins from Street Fighter 5 as mods. And even in the Monster Hunter community players fear bans when using a mod that increases the FPS of Monster Hunter World on PC.
Are “Quality of Life” mods okay? The Reddit user’s inquiry was about two specific mods:
The first replaced the Xbox buttons of the controller in the UI with PS4 buttons
The second was a transmog mod and allowed changing the appearance of the armor
Tenzi92 received a response from support: The representative from Capcom replied to the inquiry as follows.
“Capcom does not support mods made by third parties. All official mods are released on the game’s Steam page.
You can use any mod for the game, but at your own risk.
If the chosen mod only improves the game’s graphics and provides no gameplay advantages, you should not be banned.”
Statement with a loophole: Although the response to Tenzi92 states that, for example, performance mods are harmless in themselves and should not lead to a ban, Capcom leaves a loophole open. Ultimately, it is the company itself that decides which mods provide gameplay advantages and which are harmless. Therefore, there is still no 100% guarantee.

Fans of other games fear World of Warcraft. Because once you’re caught up in the pull of Blizzard’s MMORPG again, you are considered lost.
When a new addon for World of Warcraft is released, like just now with Battle for Azeroth, many players come back to Blizzard’s MMORPG and return at least for a while.
I had an interesting conversation yesterday with a friend who has recently been especially enjoying Sea of Thieves. We also talked about my friend’s concern that WoW would now siphon players from Sea of Thieves and that Sea of Thieves has to take responsibility for that. Because the developers released a questionable patch with bugs and disliked mechanics around the same time as the release of the latest WoW addon.
The thesis was now on the table (or Discord channel): Once someone gets a whiff of WoW again, they will disdain other games for a long time.
The social pull of long-lost friendships
It’s not even about the pure gameplay mechanics like the item spiral or the long grind, where players have to invest a lot of time to receive all rewards. It’s about the fellow players.
World of Warcraft has a social pull that most other games cannot match. As long as you just play „leisurely“ and don’t make any commitments, it may be different. If you only like to quest for an hour or two in the evening or do a random dungeon, not much will happen.
This reminded me a bit of the concern about a former alcoholic who might take up the bottle again. But in essence, it’s similar with World of Warcraft, at least regarding the “risk of relapse”.
But what do you think about it? Does World of Warcraft really have this pull that can bring back old players? Or is it different for you?
All it takes is a familiar name from the past to emerge, and “the trap” snaps shut. Because then you are already in conversation, reminiscing about old times, and sooner or later you also bring up former players. It turns out that player X is also back. And suddenly, you have a small group of three former friends who can go on adventures together again.
These groups grow quickly. I am amazed at how many people I have chatted with in the last days and weeks, who were actually only long-lost memories. More and more often, I find myself teaming up with old companions to run dungeons or play another twink, reminiscing about the “good old days”.
WoW consumes time for other games
I myself notice that it is taking time away from other games I wanted to devote more attention to. Dead by Daylight lures with a new killer, Persona 5 is still waiting for me on my PS4 for a conclusion, and I can’t keep up with the current anime season either.
After nearly 15 years, World of Warcraft is certainly no longer the prettiest or best game on the market. But it is still quite good, and no new game can match the bonus that comes from old acquaintances you have known for over a decade.
Therefore, I understand “the fear of World of Warcraft.” Because it is very easy to completely lose “reliable players” to Azeroth again for several months.

Getaway – A Completely New Mode
What is Getaway? In the Getaway (4-player teams), the classic Battle Royale gets a serious twist. Instead of just hunting down the enemy and surviving as long as possible, you need to find one of four safes.
Inside the safe is a llama figure that you then need to bring to one of four getaway vans. If the llama carrier is taken down, someone else can pick up the loot. The team that extracts the statue first wins.
More Speed in the Game
Why is Getaway a Good Idea? As exciting as Battle Royale is as a game mode, you eventually crave more. However, most of the previous game modes were just variations of the usual genre template.
Getaway, on the other hand, is not about kills and camping. Instead, it’s about securing the statue in a fast-paced movement battle and then protecting the carrier at all costs while almost every other team on the map targets them.
This promises immense tension and a departure from the usual, more tactical gameplay in Fortnite. And for streamers, the fast-paced gameplay in the Getaway mode will surely be extremely exciting.
I’m already looking forward to thrilling rounds where top players like Ninja or Muselk blast their way through hordes of enemies and with their last strength get the llama to the getaway van.
Fairness is Mandatory
What can go wrong? The new game mode poses a particular challenge because such a concept has not been tried before. The safes need to be distributed fairly and the getaway vans should be relatively accessible.

Moreover, the llama team must have a chance to reach their goal even with the whole map’s attention on them. If Epic can manage all of this right from the start, the new mode will surely be a huge success.
The Grappler – Movement Over Camping
What is the Grappler? This item acts like a grappling hook. You can attach yourself to distant objects and immediately pull yourself to them. Grappling hook cannons have been present in numerous games, so it was only a matter of time until Fortnite introduced such an item.
