The battle royale game H1Z1 and its professional league were actually on the verge of collapse. But now fresh money is coming into play. The LA Times and Daybreak want to save H1Z1 and establish it as a PC eSport. This is yet another reboot for the franchise.
Hardly anyone wanted to see the professional league for H1Z1: As reported by the site VeSports, the professional league of H1Z1 was a flop in its first season. The “H1Z1 Pro League” ran from April to September and faced severe issues:
The league is streamed on Facebook, not on Twitch. Viewership numbers ranged from 2,000 to 12,000, but there were reportedly many bots among the viewers.
Only a few fans showed up at the live events, leaving seats empty – hence the venues were darkened, it is said.
There were also significant organizational difficulties.
And due to force majeure at Daybreak, payments were missed.
Money apparently ran out: Although there were no exact statements as to why no more payments were made, observers believe it is due to the difficulties faced by the company “Columbus Nova”. Columbus Nova is owned by a Russian oligarch, who is under investigation. In this context, the US assets of the company were frozen.
It was believed that Daybreak belonged to Columbus Nova. Daybreak denied this.
It was quite a mess in April 2018. We reported extensively on what was going on.
In any case, Daybreak seemed to be struggling, and H1Z1 as an eSport appeared nearly done. Things looked bleak for H1Z1 until yesterday, but today everything is different.
LA Times as a savior in distress – Z1 as a new eSport
This is supposed to become the “revitalized” PC game “Z1 Battle Royale” as an eSport.
New beginning for Z1 on the PC
LA Times as an important partner: For the new success, H1Z1 wants to collaborate closely with the LA Times, which also belongs to the new parent company. The LA Times wants to heavily invest in eSports, build an event center for eSports, and then cover all relevant games.
Apparently, “Z1 Battle Royale” is meant to serve as the new flagship. Jace Hall is likely to be appointed as the responsible person. He is expected to be the PC lead. Z1 will then be the new brand.
The PC lead says: This is now a reset; something new is starting.
What is the new plan? According to Jace Hall (via Forum), the plan is now:
To bring back the Pro League in 2019
To rename H1Z1 on PC to Z1 Battle Royale
The new Z1 will then belong to NatG Mobile – and no longer to Daybreak
PS4 version and PC version of H1Z1 go separate ways
What about the PS4 version of H1Z1? The new eSports plans seem to be mainly focused on PC. The question is what happened to the PS4 version, which enjoyed short-term high popularity. It seems to continue to be developed only by Daybreak.
This is what it’s about: H1Z1 had its heyday as a battle royale in the second half of 2016 and the first half of 2017. With the rise of PUBG, H1Z1 began to decline as the battle royale front-runner on Steam and Twitch.
But apparently, there is hope for success, and they have managed to convince financially strong partners to step in now.
We have reported here on the tumultuous history of H1Z1, which has already seen several reboots:
In Destiny 2 today, on September 7th, Xur arrives. This is his first visit in Forsaken. Find out here what is new with the Exotic vendor.
Bungie changes Xur: After Xur became a boring, unkempt vendor in Destiny 2, whom hardly any Guardian was interested in, the Agent of the Nine is supposed to regain significance in Forsaken.
When does Xur appear? The developers did not reveal whether and how the time Xur appears changes. We strongly assume that he will visit the Guardians as usual at 7 PM on Friday evening. He certainly did not show up today at 11 AM – his old appointment from Destiny 1.
The Agent of the Nine will become mysterious again. With the changes known so far, Xur is supposed to become “the old Xur” again: A mysterious vendor with poor facial hygiene who brings cool Exotic items.
The specific changes:
Xur will no longer be displayed with a symbol on the map. He will play hide and seek with the Guardians again.
Xur is no longer tied to the Flashpoints. He can appear anywhere in Forsaken. It will take some time to find the Agent of the Nine again. In the first week of Forsaken, the Flashpoint is in the EDZ – so Xur doesn’t necessarily have to be there.
The Fate Engrams now only drop Exotics from Year 1. The new Forsaken Exotics cannot be found in these Engrams.
The “Three of Coins” are no longer available.
Since Exotics in Forsaken have become quite rare, Xur will become more interesting again.
Xur still has his secrets
What do we not know yet about Xur?
Does Xur still appear at 7 PM? Probably, but it has not been officially confirmed yet.
What does Xur’s inventory look like?
Will he stay until the Weekly Reset on Tuesday at 7 PM or leave earlier? Presumably, he will stay until Tuesday, but this has not been confirmed yet.
Xur is a vendor in Destiny who visits the Guardians on certain days and brings Exotic items with him. In Destiny 1, he was a welcomed guest, whose arrival many players eagerly anticipated every week.
In Destiny 2, Xur lost significance, as players were overwhelmed with Exotics from too many sources and completed their collections within a few weeks. Therefore, Xur was no longer needed. The vendor became uninteresting.
In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) came with update 5.4 a seemingly unremarkable new item that packs a punch: The Grappler. In the hands of experienced players, this grappling hook makes building pretty useless.
What is the Grappler? The Grappler, in English “Grappler”, is a gun with a suction cup attached. The whole thing is supposed to be a kind of grappling hook cannon. It can be found regularly in the world and has 15 shots. However, if you miss, no ammunition is consumed.
How does the Grappler work? If you have a Grappler, you just need to aim at a distant spot and fire. Like Spider-Man, you will then be pulled up to the location and land slightly offset above the point you aimed at.
So until you master the swing, you may die several times, as fall damage still applies. But those who take the time to master the Grappler will become a fearsome opponent!
Spider-Man meets Fortnite
What stunts are possible with the Grappler? As soon as the Grappler was in the game, crafty players started training with it. This led to some crazy stunts. In numerous videos online, you can now see players swinging around like Spider-Man from the new Marvel game.
Rocket Riding 2.0 with the Grappler: One player even figured out how to attach the Grappler to a rocket and overcome absurd distances. However, the Grappler is not just a fun mode of transportation; it could fundamentally change the meta-game (the general way of playing) of Fortnite.
Fortifications are useless when you can just jump over them
Those who have the Grappler don’t have to fear walls: Already now, just under a day after the introduction of the Grappler, there are tons of videos where skilled players make epic kills against unsuspecting builders.
Even massive towers are no help when a Fortnite Spider-Man can just swing up in seconds, burst into the living room from above, and let the shotgun speak.
We have gathered some of the most impressive videos here. What do you think about it? Is building over? Or will fort builders come up with new, better anti-Grappler tactics?
The SF MMORPG WildStar will close. The company behind it, Carbine, is also giving up. 50 employees are affected.
Where does the news come from? The US site Kotaku reports that WildStar is closing. They learned this from someone who was in the room this morning when the layoffs were announced.
Apparently, the publisher NCSoft has confirmed the closure of WildStar afterward.
When will WildStar close? It is still unclear when exactly the MMORPG will close. NCSoft is taking care of an orderly end to the MMORPG.
What will happen to the studio? Carbine, the studio behind the MMORPG, will be closed. The studio still has about 50 employees.
They are currently looking for people to complete WildStar and then trying to place the other employees in positions within NCSoft.
Players will get refunds for the last months: Sales that took place in WildStar from July 1 will still be refunded.
WildStar aimed to topple WoW in 2014
What was Carbine for a studio? Carbine was founded in 2005 by former Blizzard employees and was bought by NCSoft in 2007. The MMORPG WildStar was announced in 2011, but had been in development for a long time. Several prototypes had been designed and discarded by then.
What was WildStar? WildStar was a sci-fi MMORPG that focused on a colorful and vibrant world. The game excelled in its pre-release video with quirky humor and a unique art style.
At its core, WildStar was a hardcore MMORPG and aimed to be an evolution of the classic theme park.
The stated goal was for WildStar to recapture MMORPG veterans that World of Warcraft had lost over the years. WildStar was meant to be like the “WoW” of old, perhaps from the times of Vanilla and “The Burning Crusade.”
There was a difficult attunement process for raids that players had to go through in order to participate.
However, WildStar relied on a subscription model and had difficulties retaining players who had purchased it.
The difficulty level of the MMORPG was high, and the scenario was colorful and vibrant. This combination did not please everyone.
WildStar as a warning example: Early on, there were problems with content updates. Carbine originally wanted to develop multiple patches simultaneously to ensure constant content delivery. They assumed that players would call for “more” early on.
The plan failed.
There were many bugs in the game that could only be painstakingly fought. Here, the idea of developing multiple patches simultaneously became a curse for the team. The studio ultimately never managed to switch from a “game in development” to a “game in live operation.”
The MMORPG “The Elder Scrolls Online” also launched in 2014 and had similar issues at release. While ESO ultimately turned the corner and became a success, WildStar never managed to do so.
Free2Play brought nothing either: Even switching to a free-to-play system couldn’t turn the tide for WildStar. Although interest was once again high, server problems quickly took the wind out of the MMORPG’s sails. Major plans for a launch in China ultimately fell through.
For years, the MMORPG dragged along. Now, it’s over.
The flop of WildStar dealt a blow to the MMORPG genre
It’s a shame about WildStar: We at Mein MMO regret, despite all the criticism over the years, that WildStar did not meet the expectations that many MMORPG fans (and we) had placed on the game.
Surely, the MMORPG genre would have benefited in recent years if WildStar had become a hit in 2014.
Bosses are the highlights of every raid or dungeon in MMOs. Some are so legendary that they stay in your memory forever. We want to know: Which boss did you struggle with the most?
Every MMO fan has had moments where they felt like they wanted to bite their keyboard or smash their mouse against the wall during a raid.
G’huun is the final boss in Uldir.
Then it was probably the ultra-hard boss’s fault. Whether the final boss was really that difficult, simply had serious bugs, or the players just couldn’t get it right is another question.
My favorite boss from WildStar: Basically, all bosses in WildStar were tough, but my personal favorite was “Forgemaster Trogun” from the Ruins of Kel Voreth.

And yes, other bosses were tougher, but I played that boss back in beta when it was still not clear how he worked and there were bugs and errors plaguing the gameplay. Therefore, my first victory over him is still fresh in my memory today.
The Bug Bosses of SWTOR
The most annoying boss thanks to bugs: I also found my personal nemeses in Star Wars: The Old Republic to be super hard. They were the two massive lizards Zorn and Toth from the raid “Explosive Conflict”.
But eternal bugs and poorly thought-out mechanics often ruined this fight. Even when we were clearly superior in item level, the high DPS output of the damage dealers often caused the creatures to break free from the tank.
Then they became so strong that they wiped us in seconds anyway. So the two are still my hardest boss fight.
But enough about my tough boss fights. Which bosses have pushed you to your limits – what made the boss fight so special? Tell us about those fights in the comments.

There are new details about the battle royale mode “Firestorm” in Battlefield 5. Tanks are involved! You fight in squads and secure objectives for better equipment.
In the new installment of the Battlefield series, a BR mode welcomes you. The battle royale genre is currently doing very well, and Battlefield presents its own interpretation of it.
EA has now explained how the BR mode “Firestorm” will operate with new details about player counts, maps, and features.
Team play is important in Firestorm – No Solo Battle Royale
Battle Royale comes from a different team: The Firestorm mode is not developed by DICE themselves, but by Criterion Games. It will be released after the launch of Battlefield 5. However, you should find the familiar charm of Battlefield in Firestorm.
Which Battlefield elements are in Firestorm? Team play is also important in the BR mode. You know it from other BF titles, where you capture objectives together with your team. Solo plays often lead to failure.
Powerful vehicles and massive destruction are also present as the play area gradually shrinks.
Player counts – Fighting in Squads
How many play Battle Royale in BF V? Contrary to the typical 100-player battle royale, BF5 has its own rules. In Battlefield 5, 64 players battle in the battle royale.
How are the players divided? Fights occur in squads of up to 4 players. There is room for 16 teams.
Vehicles are well-known from large BR games like PUBG or Fortnite. Here, Battlefield 5 really turns it up and introduces heavy machinery.
What are the tanks for? With these powerful vehicles, you can easily wipe out entire squads hiding at strategic points on the map.
Are there additional vehicles? Yes. On the Firestorm map, you will find additional vehicles that can accommodate multiple people. This allows you to quickly drive from A to B to capture important objectives.
Objectives are back, bringing you gear
Battlefield fans know that objectives are one of the key elements of the conquest mode in the series. They are also used in Firestorm. To ensure everyone plays the objectives, the developers make them particularly important.
Why should you play objectives in Firestorm? If you play the objectives, you will be rewarded with the most valuable equipment and thus have a higher chance of winning.
Are all objectives the same? No. Some are at fixed locations, while others appear randomly. There you will find weapons or vehicles.
Destruction of the map
Just like objectives, map destruction is a typical feature of Battlefield. You will not miss this in Firestorm.
Why should you destroy the map? Some buildings provide good cover and give defenders of a location advantages. If you blow up the cover with the tank, you create tactical advantages for yourself.
The features of Firestorm in Battlefield V at a glance
At the start, you fall out of the sky onto a battlefield
You compete in an area surrounded by a firestorm. This gradually condenses and shrinks the combat field over time
Fighting continues until only one of the 16 squads survives
With tanks, you have the element of surprise on your side; other transport vehicles are also available
Capture objectives to gain strong and rare equipment
You play on the largest Battlefield map to date
Parts of the map are destructible
The BR matches count towards your Battlefield V progress
In Destiny 2 Forsaken, certain triumphs cause frustration. Not every Guardian has the opportunity to complete all triumphs.
Here is the problem: One of the biggest annoyances in the days following the Forsaken launch is the triumph “Limited Edition”. In the reddit forum, one user is incredulous that Bungie could introduce such a triumph. Because it prevents many players from completing their progress completely.
Over 8000 users agree with him – and this is just one of many complaint posts about it.
Thousands of Guardians are complaining about the triumph “Limited Edition”
What is “Limited Edition”? For this triumph, it is necessary to own the Limited Edition of Destiny 2. This costs over 100 euros (currently 140 euros on Amazon, without Forsaken). The edition includes some collector’s items, such as a booklet about the Cabal Empire.
Why is this a problem? Those who do not own this edition cannot complete the triumphs in Destiny 2 Forsaken – which many triumph collectors find incomprehensible.
Limited Edition is even bugged – that’s what Bungie says
However, this restriction is not the only annoyance surrounding the Limited Edition. Many users write that the triumph is not unlocked for them, even though they own the Limited Edition.
This is what the fans say: Countless fans are now unanimously demanding that Bungie abolish this triumph. It is outrageous and practically forces any Guardian who wants 100% to make an additional purchase. Bungie should understand that this is important to many collectors.
This is what Bungie says: Community Manager Cozmo has already responded. He made three statements:
They have noticed that some players are not getting the triumph, even though they own the Limited Edition. The team is currently looking into this.
He has relayed the feedback that this triumph is not received well in the community.
He emphasizes that this triumph adds 0 points to the total triumph points. Therefore, it is not crucial. Nevertheless, Cozmo will communicate what Bungie’s investigations yield as a result.
In response to the last statement, some players wrote that it’s not about the points. It’s about not being able to complete everything.
More annoying triumphs
You can find the “Limited Edition” triumph in the triumph overview under “Account”. Select “Triumph Moments” where the triumph is located on page 2.
This also annoys the Guardians: In this category of triumph moments, there are other triumphs that cannot be unlocked if you have not played Destiny 1 or Destiny 2 at certain times, such as
participating in a Destiny 2 beta test
or “Completing the Glass Chamber raid in Destiny 1”. This triumph can still be made up for, but it requires playing Destiny 1.
All these triumph moments do not contribute points to the total triumph points.
Guardians on Xbox and PC must wait a year: This specific submachine gun will only become available on the other platforms in a year. Since players get 50 points for the triumph, it is currently frustrating for many that they cannot unlock it now.
According to Cozmo, this is also being investigated.
With version 6.0, a kind of fresh start is set for the MMORPG AION. The major update has long been awaited by fans, and soon it will also arrive in Europe.
The title “A New Dawn” already indicates that AION will experience a new beginning. The MMORPG, which has been around for almost 10 years now, is supposed to feel like a new game with update 6.0.
The update is coming!
This is what the update brings: With update 6.0 “A New Dawn”, AION is supposed to feel more like the game it was at the beginning. A series of changes and simplifications will be made to achieve this.
The equipment will be divided into three new categories
This is what players are looking forward to: AION was quite popular at its release in 2008. Particularly, the fast entry and progression were what many appreciated. However, over the years, updates complicated many game elements.
Therefore, players wished for a return to the virtues of the past. Especially in light of new players, who could be deterred by the complex gameplay, the developers decided on simplification and a fresh start. We see this with “A New Dawn”, which many fans of the MMORPG welcome.
When is the update 6.0 coming? AION 6.0 will be released in Europe on September 19. Beforehand, a Closed Beta will take place from September 5 to September 19, for which you can register on the AION website.
There was some confusion earlier regarding the version number, as the developers want to introduce not only the Korean update 6.0 but also other changes.
It is now clear: The update will also have the version number 6.0 here.
The World of Warcraft guild Method has announced that they will show the Uldir progress in the mythical raid in a livestream. Different perspectives will be shown, from which you can learn a lot.
Method is currently the best WoW guild in the world. In Legion, Method was the first guild in the world to kill the final boss of the expansion, Argus in Antorus, the Burning Throne. The next progress in the first BfA raid Uldir will now take place completely as a livestream.
Mythical Uldir Progress Live
What is the “Mythic Race” about? For every new content in World of Warcraft, the best guilds in the world fight to be the first guild to kill the final boss in the current raid.
For Battle for Azeroth, that is currently G’huun in Uldir, which opened its gates on September 5th. Method has decided to livestream the race for the World First kill in the mythical mode of Uldir.
When does it start? The mythical mode of Uldir will be unlocked from September 12th. Since it is about the fastest kill on G’huun, Method will probably start as soon as the WoW servers go live again after the patch on Wednesday.
No exact time has been revealed yet.

Where can I watch? The individual players from Method will simultaneously stream on their own Twitch channels. Some of the players will also be playing live in the Red Bull Sphere in London. You can find out which player is where on the official homepage of Method.
Method will also stream on the Twitch channel of the guild and switch between the perspectives of the different players.
https://www.twitch.tv/method
What can I see? During the event, you will be able to watch Uldir in mythical mode from various perspectives. As the players from Method stream individually, you can each view the perspective of tanks, healers, or DPS.
Method will show all fights in Uldir.
Taloc is just the first of 8 bosses in Uldir.
Why is this special? Actually, many top guilds keep their progress raids secret until the first kill, so that the competition cannot watch and gain an advantage.
However, after other guilds in the USA and China have already been successful with this, Method as the world’s best guild has also decided to stream the entire progress.
By watching, you can learn more about the boss mechanics of the mythical raid and see exactly how certain classes play best in the fights from the respective perspectives.
A new hotfix has caused an uproar among rogues. In PvP of World of Warcraft, they have now lost up to 25% of their striking power.
The current PvP season is only three days old, but Blizzard is already implementing a major PvP hotfix for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. The aim of this change primarily affects Outlaw Rogues. They are in for a significant nerf, as they will be taking massive hits. But Frost and Arcane Mages are also being weakened and losing a lot of power in PvP.
The PvP adjustments have been active since last night (from September 6 to September 7). Here are all the changes that are now live:
Player versus Player
Healing specializations now regenerate 30% less mana while engaged in combat with enemy players.
Druid
Balance
Starlord (Azerite ability) now deals 50% less damage in PvP situations
Mage
Arcane
Overpowered increases damage from Arcane Power by 40% in PvP situations (previously 60%)
Mana Shield now drains 150% of the absorbed damage as mana in PvP situations (previously 50%)
Rune of Power increases spell damage by 30% in PvP situations (previously 40%)
Conflux increases damage by up to 15% in PvP situations (previously 20%)
Arcane Pressure (Azerite ability) is now 50% less effective in PvP situations
Electrifying Spark is now 25% less effective in PvP situations
Frost
Glacial Spike deals 20% less damage to enemy players
Frostbolt deals 15% less damage to enemy players
Concentrated Cold (PvP talent) now only increases the damage of Frozen Orb by 10% (previously 30%)
Monk
Windwalker
Chi Wave (Azerite ability) is 60% less effective in PvP situations
Assassination, Subtlety
Sharpened Blades (Azerite ability) is 65% less effective in PvP situations
Outlaw
The effect of Deadly Strike (Azerite ability) has been reduced by 45% in combat with other players
Turn the Tide (PvP talent) now only increases damage by 10% (previously 15%)
Killing Spree deals 15% less damage in PvP situations
Murderous deals 20% less damage in PvP situations
Between the Eyes deals 20% less damage in PvP situations
Subtlety
Phantom Assassin (PvP talent) now only increases critical strike chance by 10% (previously 35%)
Shadow Strike deals 10% less damage in PvP situations
Gutting deals 15% less damage in PvP situations
Were the nerfs necessary? Definitely in response to the uproar from the community. Particularly rogues have been a thorn in the side of many players. Rogues could stack the effect of “Sharpened Blade” three times and deal up to 100,000 damage – with just one attack. This corresponds to about 80% of most players’ health points.
What nerfs are coming next? Next, Blizzard is targeting Arms Warriors, Beast Mastery Hunters, and Discipline Priests. They are expected to face significant cuts in one of the next hotfixes as well to reduce their dominance in PvP.
In Destiny 2, the weekly and daily challenges changed with Forsaken. You can find out how and when these activities are reset by the reset here.
Which resets are we talking about? What were milestones in Destiny 2 are called “challenges” in Forsaken. Through these contents, you can earn valuable loot weekly or daily to increase your power level.
Some challenges allow items to drop above the new soft cap of 500 power level. Therefore, these special challenges are particularly important for endgame progression.
What is the problem with the resets? The weekly and daily challenges differ in terms of their reset. It gets a bit complicated: daily challenges are not reset daily, and there are weekly challenges that can be completed multiple times a week.
Bungie has now outlined how the resets actually work. We explain it to you.
Everything you need to know about the Weekly Reset and Daily Reset
The most important reset for your weekly planning remains the Weekly Reset, which takes place every Tuesday at 7 PM.
Weekly Reset in Forsaken
The following activities are reset with the Weekly Reset along with their rewards:
“Call to Arms” Crucible Challenges
Flashpoints
Raid Challenges
Raid Checkpoints
Nightfall Strike
Weekly Clan Engram
Weekly Clan XP Caps
Eververse selection of Glimmer offers and Prism Matrix
We wrote before the Forsaken launch that the new Flashpoint challenge would reset every 4 days. But that seems to be incorrect. According to this plan from Bungie, Flashpoint remains a weekly activity.
Users report that they have already received their second Flashpoint loot this week. However, this is because milestones appear to reset once you reach character level 50.
Daily Reset in Forsaken
The daily reset occurs every day at 7 PM.
The following activities are affected by the daily reset:
Activity Challenges
Destination Challenges
Clan Bounties
Heroic Story Missions
Replayable Adventures
The complicated part about daily challenges: Although daily challenges provide a new challenge every day, they are only reset every 4 days, according to Bungie. What does that mean?
Concrete examples:
The first daily strike challenge went live on September 4. The next daily strike challenge will be on September 8 at 7 PM – so 4 days later.
The first daily Gambit challenge came on September 5. Therefore, the next one will be on September 9.
Every day – for four days – there will be a new challenge in an activity that you have 4 days to complete.
You keep the daily challenges until they are completed:
If you complete the daily strike challenge on September 7, you will receive the challenge again on September 8.
If you do not complete the daily strike challenge before September 8, it will not appear as a duplicate. Instead, the challenge resets and your previous progress is deleted. You will have to start the challenge over again.
Phew, what does that mean now? Simply put, every day in Destiny 2 there is a new challenge. On the first day in Strike, the next day in Gambit, the next day in Crucible, and the fourth day in another activity (heroic story missions?). So, there is always something new to do every day.
You have 4 days for each of these daily challenges before they reset. Each of these four challenges allows loot to drop once every four days.
Bungie promises to release a calendar in the future that shows all the resets concretely. We will embed it here.
Other Reset Times
Heroic Adventures reset every week on Monday and Thursday.
Escalation Protocol: The final boss rotates every week with the Weekly Reset.
Additionally, there is a seasonal reset that resets the vendors, Crucible ranks, and seasonal challenges.
What do you think of these reset times? Users on reddit say that they are unnecessarily complicated now.
Finally, there is gameplay material from Blackout, the battle royale mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. We show you the trailer.
Just a few days before the Black Ops 4 beta, the team is now showing gameplay impressions of the BR mode. After the first teaser, the new video goes into detail and shows helicopters, boats, and plenty of action. The two minutes of gameplay scenes are packed with adrenaline.
Vehicles make the fights: In the trailer, many vehicles are in use: quads, helicopters, rubber boats, and even trucks from which you can shoot. With the trucks, you can probably intercept supply drops. This can be seen in the trailer at around 55 seconds.
You can recognize Call of Duty even in the BR: Even in the battle royale mode, Call of Duty stays true to its motto. The fights are fast and not artificially prolonged, much happens at close range.
When does the beta start? The beta test for the Blackout mode in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 starts on September 10. We have compiled the most important information about the beta for you here:
Some of the characters you can expect in Red Dead Redemption 2 are now being introduced by Rockstar. These include Dutch van der Linde, Pearson, Susan Grimshaw. The community is even hoping for a new trailer.
Many players are already eagerly waiting for the Western game Red Dead Redemption 2, which will be released by Rockstar Games on October 26 for PS4 and Xbox One.
The developers are gradually revealing which characters you will meet in the game.
Teaser Action of Red Dead Redemption 2
Some of the RDR2 characters have already been shown in trailers. This includes John Marston and the gang leader, Dutch van der Linde.
What happened? On the evening of September 6, Rockstar introduced new characters on social media every 30 minutes and presented them in brief sentences. Each comes with an artwork of the character.
Who has been introduced? So far, included are John Marston, Bill Williamson, Susan Grimshaw, Pearson, Micah Bell, Leopold Strauss, Dutch van der Linde, Hosea Matthews, Molly O’Shea, Charles Smith, Abigail Roberts, Karen Jones, Javier Escuella, Tilly Jackson, Uncle, Mary-Beth Gaskill, Lenny Summers, Josiah Trelawny, Reverend Swanson, Sean Macguire, Sadie Adler, Arthur Morgan.
We will regularly update the included gallery and upload the artworks here. Last update: September 7 – 08:30 AM
Why is Rockstar uploading all this now?
Now players are wondering why Rockstar is suddenly uploading so many artworks. They hope that something bigger is behind it.
Players hope for a trailer:Reddit user Dilla_86 notes that Rockstar has removed its pinned tweet. That was the latest gameplay video of Red Dead Redemption 2. He suspects that this activity on Twitter may announce a new gameplay video and that they are making “space” on Twitter for it.
This is the assumption that keeps coming up: “A new trailer must be coming soon – with these new artworks, Rockstar is probably announcing that.”
A new trailer has indeed been announced: At the end of the most recent gameplay video from early August, Rockstar stated that the next gameplay video will address missions, activities, and hostile gangs, heists, and the Deadeye system.
Why one should not get hyped right away: It’s easy to hope for a new trailer now. However, there are no clear signs for it.
Many people in the community advise to first accept the artworks as they are. Perhaps Rockstar just wants to introduce the gang now. If a new video does come, the surprise will be even greater.
The Kung-Fu and anime MMORPG Blade & Soul by NCSoft is getting a new class. This is basically just a sword that goes into battle with a warrior as an attachment.
An offensive tank with a giant sword: Enormous swords have long been commonplace in anime and Asian games. But the new class “Protector” in Blade & Soul makes even giant sword-wielders like Guts or Cloud green with envy.
Curiously, the new class is a tank, but by no means as passive and defensive as many other representatives of this role.
The abilities of the Protector
Tank as damage dealer: The Protector builds its gameplay on generating rage. To do this, it must deal damage. If it has enough rage built up, it can enter an “Angry Stance” and deal extra damage. However, it continues to lose health while doing so. Your healer should be on their toes.
Tank as the shield of the group: The Protector appears more like a classic tank when you take the heroic stance. Then it gains a boost in speed and defense. Additionally, it can initiate special attacks.
Tank as a self-sustainer: To better protect itself, the Protector has a regenerating damage shield. Furthermore, it can heal itself with the ability “Soul Blessing” and even increase its critical hit chance. There’s also a buff for the rest of the group.
Races and Release
Who can become a Protector? The new class is only available to two of the four races from Blade & Soul. In addition to the average humans of the Jin race, the giant Gon can also wield the two-handed sword.

In the State of the Game on September 6, Massive discussed the current state of The Division. Alongside the new Shield, the stream covered the end of the current roadmap and how things will proceed in September 2018. Here’s a summary.
The 107th State of the Game from September 6 just aired and there are a few updates on The Division. A new Shield called “Talon” is now online.
Furthermore, there was discussion about the future of The Division. After all, the roadmap for 2018 runs until September, so the question arises of what will happen next. Here’s all the information from the community live stream.
“Talon” Shield is online
What you need to do for the new Shield: To complete the new Shield, you need to achieve a commendation score of 3000 or higher. This Shield is retroactive.
What are commendations? Commendations are in-game challenges that you can complete. For each one, you earn points representing your commendation score. The maximum value is over 5000, but reaching 3000 also takes some time.
What the Shields are about and which ones are still waiting for you, you can find out here.
2018 Roadmap is expiring – Here’s what’s next
What’s next for The Division 1? Although the official roadmap for 2018 is about to expire, The Division 1 will continue. Global Events are still upcoming, more Shields will go online.
But what else is coming is unclear.
Patch 1.8.3 was originally not planned and still came out, so we have to wait and see how things will proceed.
No more unclear dates: In the coming months, Massive will now present a roadmap for that month at the beginning of each month, so it will be clear from the start when what will arrive.
No more guessing about the start of a Global Event or a Shield; that’s the goal. But there will not only be information about The Division 1, The Division 2 will also be listed.
The Division 1 – Here’s what to expect in September:
New Shield Talon starting September 6
Double supply drops from September 10 to September 16
Double rewards at High-Risk Targets from September 17 to September 23
Global Event “Ambush” from September 24 to September 30
The Division 2 – Here’s what to expect in September:
Play events on September 14 in Zurich, Sofia, and Stockholm
A play event on September 20 in Birmingham
Developer blog on September 27, new information about The Division 2 hinted
Further play dates on September 27 (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) and September 29 (Ghent, Belgium)

A two-handed mace from the new Uldir raid in World of Warcraft is probably just a cosmetic weapon. Blizzard is adjusting the item level, causing outrage among players.
Update: Blizzard has responded to player complaints. The nerf of the cosmetic version of Khor, Hammer of the Guardian has been reverted for players who already own the hammer.
Players who obtained Khor earlier will retain it at the higher item level. If Khor, Hammer of the Guardian drops again, it will be a cosmetic item.
If you destroyed Khor after the nerf, you can contact customer support to have it restored.
We’re reverting the previous hotfix to Khor, Hammer of the Guardian and implementing a different fix for the issue. Details here: https://t.co/T1Y2PnvOJN
Original announcement – Uldir loot weakened: In a hotfix, Blizzard weakened an item from the new raid Uldir. Plate wearers are infuriated and annoyed by the developers’ decision.
There are different versions of Khor.
Which item is it? Khor, Hammer of the Guardian is a two-handed mace dropped by the first boss Taloc. Khor is one of the two-handed strength weapons that can drop in Uldir.
Khor has two versions: Khor, Hammer of the Guardian and Khor, Hammer of the Corrupted. The Hammer of the Guardian is the transmog version, while the Hammer of the Corrupted is intended for combat.
As further clarification: The item we changed was a special alternate version of the mace that doesn’t appear in the Dungeon Journal. “Khor, Hammer of the Corrupted” remains entirely unchanged and is a standard raid weapon. https://t.co/nD1S2nScl3
What happened? Players received Khor as standard loot from the first Uldir boss Taloc. In normal mode, the mace could drop with an item level of 355+, thus providing an upgrade for many players.
However, with a hotfix, Blizzard has now lowered the item level of the item to 120+. The mace no longer drops as a usable weapon. The item level has even been adjusted for players who had actively used the mace.
Why did Blizzard do this? The decision was made because it was an error from the beginning that Khor could drop with an item level of 355+. Khor is actually a transmog item that is only there for its appearance.
To clarify its status as a cosmetic weapon, Blizzard has now lowered the item level.
Hi there, there was a recent hotfix which changed the iLvl of the item to better reflect its status as a transmog item. The hotfix blog hasn’t been updated yet with this information, but I expect it will be soon. ^AX
Many players are now outraged that Khor was simply weakened overnight without prior notice. In the official forum, the outrage is significant. It was not clear before the change that the weapon was a cosmetic item.
Particularly, plate wearers were excited about the new weapon and had already discarded their old weapons, thinking they had received a better one. Now, they are completely without a usable weapon, and some players cannot participate in endgame content like the raid Uldir.
The support forum agent Vrakthris is trying to calm users in the forums, as the change has caused quite a stir. He explained why Blizzard made the change and gives tips on what affected players can do now.
If you also wore Khor and destroyed your old weapon, you can use World of Warcraft’s item restoration feature. This is, however, only available once every 15 days.
If you used it shortly before, you can simply open a ticket for loot distribution and discuss your problem there, according to Vrakthris. He advises to mention that you want your old weapon back. If you enchanted Khor, you can also retrieve the materials for the enchantment.
In the Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2, you have the chance to open a secret chest and score a cool emblem after battling Baron Hiraks, the Mindbender. We show you how.
During the story of Destiny 2: Forsaken, you take down the eight Barons one by one. The hunt takes place within story missions and adventures. When you go after Baron Mindbender (the Mindbender), you can secure a little extra hidden in a secret chest.
The secret chest at the Mindbender – Here’s how to get it
Start the adventure: To access the chest, you need to start the corresponding adventure in the Wyrmwood where you pursue the Mindbender.
If you have already completed the adventure, you must either do it on another character with whom you haven’t finished it in the story, or wait until this adventure becomes available again with the activity rotation.
Fight your way to the boss: After starting the adventure, you just need to follow the mission until the final boss Hiraks, the Mindbender, and take him down. It gets interesting only after the battle.
Take down Hiraks: Once you’ve defeated Hiraks in his Throne World, you will be prompted to exit the Ascendant Realm through the portal. However, before you do, you should engage in a little jumping exercise. Don’t let the collapsing Throne World pressure you – you have plenty of time.
Don’t escape through the portal yet: As you stand in front of the portal, don’t go through it but jump past it to the right. Several platforms will appear after the battle with Mindbender, which you can ascend progressively. These lead you in a circle to a sphere located directly above the portal. Pick it up, jump down with it, and leave the Throne World through the portal.
Head to the chest: Once you come out into the normal world, keep to the right. There, just a few meters ahead, you will find a door locked with a Hive rune. You can now use the sphere you carried to unlock the rune.
Behind it lies a chest from which you will receive the legendary emblem “Secret Treasure,” which seems to be very popular among many Guardians at the moment.
Video guide: You can watch the relevant jump exercise again in the video here.

In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One), Update 5.4 has been released today, bringing the new game mode “Raid”, along with new challenges. However, initially, hardly anyone paid attention to the map.
Did the map change? Indeed, with Update 5.4, much more has been introduced than just the Raid mode, new weapons, and gameplay adjustments. If someone happened to visit the rather unpopular location Dusty Divot or the construction site of Tilted Towers, they would have been quite surprised.
Dusty Diner as a new location
An addition to the crater: Where the torn-up warehouses of the previous location Dusty Depot used to be, there is now a stylish restaurant called Dusty Diner. The look resembles the burger place in Greasy Grove, but features a gallery in the dining area.
A museum of the Fortnite story: In the gallery, there is a kind of museum. It contains artifacts and relics from past Fortnite seasons, including pieces of the meteor from Season 4.
The crater is still there: Behind the diner, there is still a single ruined warehouse. From there, it goes down into the overgrown crater, where the meteor once struck.
Tilted Towers repaired again
Fans have long demanded the downfall of Tilted Towers, but that likely won’t happen. Rather, the place was brushed by the meteor, destroying one building in the process.
Tilted Towers gets a new addition: Where the meteor struck, there was a construction site for a long time; now the construction project seems to be completed. Tilted Towers now features a stylish boutique.
There you can engage in wild battles over three floors among clothes and outdoor equipment. The place is maze-like and offers good hiding spots in changing rooms.
All damages from the meteorite repaired
With the repair of Tilted Towers and Dusty Divot, all damages caused by the meteorite in Season 4 have been fixed. The devastated drive-in theater Risky Reels was already restored earlier.
But new disaster is already looming, because the cube seems to have nothing good in store:
A total of 57% of our readers choose the War Mode. They roam through Azeroth with the constant threat of an attack from the Horde and Alliance at their backs. However, the motivation for this is quite different:
34%, a bit more than a third of the voters, use the mode and also engage in PvP – they are actively looking for a skirmish
23%, on the other hand, have only activated the War Mode because they are keen on the 10% bonus. They enjoy more gold, more war resources, and also more artifact power for the Heart of Azeroth
Almost half avoid the War Mode
With 43% of the participants in our survey, a large part of the players is not excited about the War Mode. They completely avoid this gameplay style and prefer to enjoy the game world without the constant threat of an attack from the opposing faction.
Not surprisingly, as anyone who wants to play “casually” and not be suddenly killed while completing world quests or during an extensive farming tour saves a lot of nerves.
The survey was also actively commented on by you. The divided opinion is reflected in the comments as well. Here are a few excerpts:
en RageD: “I activated it from the start, but only because of the 10% on everything. PvP is and remains simply uninteresting to me in this game.”
Bonebanger: “Can you disable PvP as a Rogue? […] No, seriously, I find the War Mode is the best thing that could be done since the introduction of cross-realm play.”
Oliver Floßdorf: “I have the War Mode turned off. I think it’s great that each player can now decide for themselves how they want to play.”
Especially the last comment seems to be the most widely shared opinion: The abolition of PvP servers and the introduction of the War Mode is a win for all sides.
Do the results of the survey match the playstyle of your friends? Or is your friend circle uniformly playing in either War Mode or the normal mode?
EA Sports has released a video about FIFA 19, in which football stars complain about their ratings – and take to the barricades! The complaining stars include Thomas Müller, Kevin De Bruyne, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
What kind of video is this? Today, on September 6th, the first official player ratings from FIFA 19 were revealed. EA Sports has released a short video to tune in to the “ratings countdown” of the top 100 players.
In this video, well-known football stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne, and Thomas Müller talk about their player ratings in FIFA – and loudly complain about EA Sports’ decisions. They even call on fans to protest against the ratings before the reveal of the FIFA 19 ratings so that they can be improved.
What is going on?
You should watch the video for yourself:

The video features some football professionals complaining about their ratings from FIFA 18:
Cristiano Ronaldo cannot understand why his rating is not at 100
De Bruyne says in a statement on camera that the players have had enough. The rating decisions cannot continue like this
Giroud protests that it is a shame he was given a 53 in pace
Lacazette complains about his pace. He then shows the developers how fast he really is by saying: “Look how fast I am out of here” and disappears.
Thomas Müller thinks that his physical rating of 71 is a joke. In the background, Kimmich can be seen flexing his biceps with a point higher in physicality.
Diego Costa hands out flyers demanding a pace boost of +5.
Süle and Robben have a conversation: they need to play better to receive higher ratings.
There are several news flashes where the hosts report that the players are demanding better ratings for FIFA 19.
Promotional video for FIFA 19: Those who watch the video will immediately realize that it is not a real uprising of the players. Instead, it is a staged but quite amusing promotional video that many football fans are sure to enjoy.
There are also several funny moments – for instance, the lanky Müller complaining about his physicality. Many FIFA fans are already writing that it is likely one of the funniest FIFA videos ever.
EA Sports released the video with a wink on Twitter. They do not take themselves too seriously and point out that they cannot please all players. However, the video also conveys the message that players should perform better on the field to receive higher ratings in the virtual space.
Additionally, the video aims to spread the hashtag #FIFARATINGS to bring attention to the release of FIFA 19 and the start of the new FUT season. FIFA 19 will be released on September 28, 2018, for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch, but can be played in advance.
What are player ratings anyway?
The player ratings in FIFA 19 determine how well players perform on the field. An important indicator is the overall rating, but individual stats like pace or shooting power are also decisive when choosing players for your team.
For the Ultimate Team mode, the first ratings are particularly interesting, as they are applied to the standard cards of players. The standard cards remain unchanged for months, if not the entire year, and are crucial to the FUT experience.
