The reforging in World of Warcraft could become even tougher. At least Blizzard is now hinting at that.
Reforging is currently a hot topic in World of Warcraft. Those who often adjust their gear quickly incur horrendous costs or have to adopt an ineffective playstyle. However, this is exactly what Blizzard intends.
What is reforging? With reforging, players can redistribute their Azerite traits on chest, head, and shoulder armor for gold. The costs for reforging double each time, causing the price to rise quickly.
What does Blizzard say? Community Manager Josh “Lore” Allen addressed the concerns of many players in the official forum. Reforging is too expensive and punishes players who often switch their roles to help others. Lore emphasizes in his response that this is indeed intentional.
They want the permanent switching of Azerite traits to be “not feasible”. Reforging is only meant to assist players who may suddenly have to fulfill a new role permanently in a raid.
The system is not intended for permanent back-and-forth switching like a second row of talents. Lore further states:
“Perhaps the current system does not achieve that yet. But if it doesn’t, then we will probably be EVEN more restrictive with reforging and not less.”
Therefore, those who expected a cost reduction in reforging in the near future should rather prepare for the opposite.
Multiple armor sets are desired: According to Lore, players should acquire multiple Azerite armor sets, one for each specialization. Alternatively, they should choose the traits that provide a bonus across all specializations, but may not always be optimal.
