Today, on October 30, 2018, the update 2.0.5 for Destiny 2 was released. We have summarized all the important information about the content, maintenance, patch notes, and downtime for you.
This brings numerous changes that Bungie has announced in recent months finally into the game. We explain to you what is included in the current Destiny 2 patch and how the maintenance works.
These new features await you on 30.10. in Destiny 2
This is included in update 2.0.5: With update 2.0.5 , Bungie is addressing specific concerns with Forsaken for the first time. While update 2.0.4 two weeks ago also fixed some issues, it was primarily about bringing new content. Many of the “larger issues” are being tackled today.

The stack size for ghost fragments increases from 10 to 20

Destiny 2: Maintenance, downtime, server downtimes on 30.10.
What you need to pay attention to today: As soon as update 2.0.5 is available for download and installation, maintenance will take place today, Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
However, – except in emergencies – no downtime is expected. This means there is no server down. You will only need to interrupt your gameplay to download and install the new update. After that, you should be able to continue playing normally.
Important: The exact time indications from Bungie are unfortunately poorly worded due to the recent time change and may each shift back by an hour (17:00, 18:45, 19:00). Should the times change, we will adjust the article accordingly.

This is what Guardians can still expect: Additionally, it is speculated that this mysterious quest could lead Guardians to the Cosmodrome on Earth one last time and that at the end, possibly the first heavy machine gun in Destiny 2 awaits as a reward – the Thunderlord.
UPDATE: As a fresh leak claims, the Thunderlord will likely not be available for another three weeks.
The MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV has been under heavy DDoS attacks for almost a month. Initially, only the European data center was affected, but later the attacks also spread to the FFXIV webpage Lodestone, customer support, and the servers of Final Fantasy XI.
What happened? October was not a good month for the developers and players of FFXIV. Since October 4th, the servers have experienced massive connection issues and crashes. These initially occurred only on European servers but later spread to the North American and Japanese regions.
List of FFXIV server problems that occurred almost daily in October
Players seemed to be randomly kicked from the MMORPG and were unable to log in for a long time. However, the problem did not occur for all players simultaneously. There were also people who had no issues and were spared from the disconnects. This could change over the weeks, however.
To top it all off, most disconnects occurred during the so-called “prime time.” This refers to the time period when most players are online, typically in the evening around 6:00 PM. Particularly the raiders were affected, as they could only enter instances with fixed groups at scheduled times.
How is Square Enix responding? After the initial silence, Square has released several statements regarding the situation. The Internet providers of FFXIV are suffering from irregular DDoS attacks, which also affect the performance of FFXIV and other Square Enix services. Everything is currently being done to fend off or at least mitigate these DDoS attacks.
The director and producer of FFXIV, Naoki Yoshida, has published several messages to the players apologizing for the issues. He also explained what DDoS attacks are and why they are so difficult to combat. However, it was not stated whether players would receive compensation for the weeks of connection problems.
What is a DDoS attack? Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is a relatively simple and therefore common type of attack on servers and data centers of various service providers. There are many different types of DDoS attacks, but most aim to overwhelm the servers and crash them through artificially created, extremely high traffic.
While DDoS was previously used more as a form of protest and vandalism, it has now been recognized as a form of cybercrime. There are websites that offer specialized DDoS services, allowing one to, for example, harm the competition or extort money from the service provider.
From Frustration to Memes
How are the players reacting? In the early days of the connection problems, there was significant discontent among the players. The connection issues often occurred in the evenings when most players are active. However, there remained hope that these were just temporary issues.
As the connection problems persisted, voices arose questioning the DDoS attacks as a reason for server issues. They suggested that this was an excuse from Square Enix to cover up the poor state of their server infrastructure. User Arg0n wrote in the official Lodestone forums:
Perhaps it is not a DDoS attack, but that the hamsters have actually starved. The EU servers have been unstable for months, especially the instance servers. So there is a server problem regardless, DDoS or not…
There are also calls for Square to compensate for the long downtime. In the FFXIV forums, a user has created a petition for this.
Meanwhile, players have started creating memes about the constant connection problems and the state of the FFXIV servers. Players from the European Chaos and American Primal data centers have transferred to other servers to create new characters with humorous names like “Primalis Onfire” (Primal data center is on fire) and “Send Help”.
The director of FFXIV, Yoshida, asks the team how to improve the game while the EU servers burn.
The English community has also created a “90002 Bingo”. Error code 90002 in FFXIV indicates a sudden loss of connection to the server. The bingo lists the worst situations during which one can be kicked out, such as in the middle of a raid or while crafting an expensive item.
The descriptions of the official FFXIV subreddit have also been adapted to fit the situation:
The attacks continue: The attacks and connection problems have now practically become a daily occurrence for FFXIV players. Although their frequency has clearly decreased, they still occur. It is not known when the problem will be definitively resolved.

How to Get Your Horse – Locations
In Red Dead Redemption 2, there are several ways to acquire a horse. You will receive a decent horse early in the campaign. Additionally, you can buy horses at stables, tame wild horses, or simply steal your next mode of transport.
Stables
You gain access to the stables during the story. In Chapter 2, during the quest “Step Down, with Head Bowed”, the stable is explained to you. In this quest, you also have to track down a legendary bear.
At the stables, which you find in all major towns, you have several options:
Buy and sell horses
Board up to three horses
Buy care items like food or special tonics
Buy or upgrade horse equipment, such as saddles, saddle bags, and stirrups
Change the appearance of your horse and accessories or rename it
In the game world, you will often encounter wild horses that need to be broken in first. You can catch the animals with a lasso or try to win their trust.
So catch the wild horse with the lasso or not, and aim at it from a distance with LT/L2. Use the option to calm the animal and wait for it to settle down. You can approach slowly and use the calming option whenever it appears. Get closer and pet the horse as soon as you have the opportunity.
Next, you should try to mount it. Try to hold on to the horse’s back by pushing the control stick in the opposite direction of the animal’s movements. If you succeed in staying on the horse without being thrown off, you will have tamed the animal.
You are an outlaw in the Wild West and can of course just steal a horse. However, be careful when you are in towns and settlements: Stealing can quickly bring you a heavy bounty.
You can also steal horses from rival gangs. However, be prepared for the gang to attack you. Have good weapons ready and plan your escape route in advance.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, you can temporarily ride horses. However, if you want to make the animal your permanent mount, you need to put a saddle on it. The option for this is unlocked during the main storyline.
Approach a calm horse with the saddle in hand and press up on the D-Pad. You will have now put the saddle on and made the respective animal your main horse.
If you want to remove the saddle and switch horses, you can aim at the respective horse with LT/L2 and press up on the D-Pad again.
You can only have one saddle and thus one main horse at a time. Other horses can be boarded in the stables.
Grooming – How to Care for Your Steed
Dirt and hunger negatively affect your horse’s performance. Your horse should always be fed and clean to remain happy and healthy. Grooming also positively affects the bond.
Under LB/LT and then the horse menu, you can use some items for horse care. For example, you can groom your animal. You can acquire the horse brush in stables starting from the quest “Step Down, with Head Bowed”.
Additionally, you can feed your horse. Healthy options include oat biscuits, apples, or hay. Some plants or herbs from the wild can also be fed.
However, be careful not to overfeed your animal. If it eats too much while already full, it will gain weight.
Horses respond faster and from a greater distance to whistles, even in combat
The ability to cross deeper waters or ride over more difficult terrain
A lower chance that your horse will flee from a fright, such as seeing a predator
Bonding increases through interaction with your horse. Normal riding, swimming, or leading the horse increases the level. Additionally, you can pet it, calm it when it is nervous, and groom it when it is dirty.
Feeding and tying the animal also increases the bonding. Removing heavy items also leads to an increase in the relationship level.
A German-speaking YouTuber about Destiny 2 is currently experiencing a roller coaster of emotions. After being brought into the spotlight by Bungie worldwide, he is now facing major issues on YouTube. It is suspected that a jealous person might be behind this.
This YouTuber is: AndyEdition is responsible for the story and background of the game in the German-speaking Destiny community. He takes on the role of “Lore Explanator” for the German community, a role filled by “My Name is Byf” in the English-speaking community. We at MeinMMO have also featured his videos on the story of Destiny 2.
How it went up: With this concept, he is increasingly successful. From small beginnings at the end of 2016, his channel has grown significantly in recent weeks. In September 2018, he had his strongest month so far with “Forsaken.” With nearly 750,000 views and over 5,000 new subscribers, the hard work is slowly paying off.
The highlight seemed to have been reached when Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, took notice of AndyEdition. On October 24, community manager Cozmo introduced the YouTuber to a large audience as part of the “Community Focus.”
The article about Andy appeared on the Bungie homepage and from there it spread around the world.
That was the shock: But he could only enjoy the success for a few days.
As Andy says in a conversation with MeinMMO, everything was different by Saturday. When he logged into YouTube there, everything was suddenly red and covered with warning messages.
In a short time, two strikes appeared on his account. YouTube informed him that he may have violated “community guidelines.” However, no exact details were provided.
Appeals against the strikes were also unsuccessful.
AndyEdition feels powerless and cannot find a contact person at YouTube who can explain to him what he may have done wrong.
Now the deletion of the channel is imminent
This is the situation now: The channel is banned for three weeks. During that time, AndyEdition cannot upload any new videos.
And even worse: If a third strike occurs, deletion is imminent. As Andy communicates via Facebook, more of his videos have been reported and he expects the worst.
At the moment, the YouTuber cannot explain what exactly has happened. AndyEdition insists on his innocence. He has watched the videos that have been reported multiple times and cannot explain what he may have done wrong.
His community is concerned. It is suspected that there may be jealous individuals who are angry that it is not they who were highlighted in the community focus of Bungie, but rather an “other.”
MeinMMO thinks: If Bungie itself considers AndyEdition’s content to be so good that they bring him into the spotlight, it raises the question of what on earth could be YouTube’s problem with the content?
Unfortunately, it seems possible for anonymous reports to sabotage years of work. It is alarming how much power large platforms like YouTube have and how difficult it is to contact them and present one’s perspective.
We wish AndyEdition the best of luck in this situation and hope that perhaps the problem will resolve itself favorably, although it does not look that way at the moment.
A year ago, the German YouTube duo “ziro.tv” got into trouble with the community. We reported extensively on this:
In Fallout 76, there is a PvP system that punishes griefers and trolls harshly. If you kill players without them agreeing to a duel, you will be placed under a bounty that must be paid with caps. But what happens if you are broke?
PvP is one of the most challenging topics in Fallout 76. After the announcement, many wondered: Can this go well? There is PvP in Fallout 76, but the system is quite simple and goes hard against griefers. After all, who wants to be chased by other players while just trying to explore the world?
Those who cannot pay receive a debtor’s penalty
Now players are amused by how the penalties for such trolls and griefers can turn out. Whoever is broke will be punished twice. Because as soon as the player dies on whom the bounty was placed, it will be paid from their pocket.
What if I can’t pay the bounty? Reddit user TommyBoyTC has already experienced the consequences firsthand. A bounty of 30 caps was placed on him, but he only had five. After his death, he was therefore imposed with a “debtor’s penalty.”
This is how the penalty affects you: Whoever receives such a penalty only deals 50% of the actual damage in PvP for four hours. So be careful which containers you empty; it could be another player’s workshop.
The bounty mechanism in Fallout 76
How does PvP work? When you attack another player, you initially deal only minor damage. The attacked player must fire back first to properly initiate the fight. A normal player death has little consequences. It is possible to kill someone with reduced damage, but this has consequences in the form of a bounty.
This is how bounties work: If a bounty is placed, you are marked as a murderer for everyone on the map. Any other player on the map can now kill the murderer. There is also a PvP mode on the radio, which sends you on a targeted hunt for other players.
Bounties can also be obtained differently: TommyBoyTC was apparently doubly unlucky. While looting the game world, he accidentally emptied a container that belonged to another player’s workshop. This caused him to be marked with the 30-cap bounty.
Fans are amused by penalties, but not everyone is satisfied
How does the community react? In the Fallout 76 subreddit, most players respond with humor. One player wonders whether the turrets at their own camp also attack thieves.
User Jae-Sun has an idea to trick players: “Oh my God, I’m going to place a chest with items in the middle of the street and hide turrets in the plants at the edge of the street.” He apparently wants to make players unwitting thieves who will then be attacked by the turrets.
IllStudyYou is already looking forward to the hunt: “If this is true, I will definitely be a bounty hunter.” Some are reminded of the regulators from Fallout 3, a faction of bounty hunters.
Some other users find PvP in this form unnecessary. User PalwaJoko writes: “At this point, I feel like they should completely deactivate PvP. It seems to me, […] that they just want to keep PvP to satisfy a certain group without recognizing the downsides of PvP.”
BlackedRobedMage wonders why one can even deal damage before the other player agrees to the duel: “The game has so many penalties for PvP; I just don’t see that many people will get along with such a system. I’m not sure why they even allow unwanted PvP.”

The new weapon mods in Destiny 2 – What you need to know
Why mods are worth it: With mods, you can give your arsenal an additional personal touch. The modifications improve certain aspects of your weapons – from magazine size to recoil behavior and extra damage against certain enemy groups, there’s quite a bit involved.
What is important for choosing mods: The choice of the right weapon mods depends, just like the choice of weapons or armor perks, mainly on your individual preferences. Do you play more PvP or PvE? Do you use the weapon primarily against strong single enemies or groups of weak enemies?
With this information, it should be easier for you to find the right mods for your needs.
How to get weapon mods in Destiny 2
These two options are available: Since their overhaul, mods have become rarer. In Year 2, they are only available from dismantling corresponding weapons that already contain mods or in exchange for mod components from the gunsmith.
Weapons from Year 1 are not compatible with new mods: All Year 2 legendary weapons have a mod slot. Your Year 1 weapons, on the other hand, are unable to use the new Year 2 weapon mods in Destiny 2. They must cope completely without them. Exotic weapons also do not have mod slots.
Popular Year 1 weapons have been adjusted: However, you do not have to completely give up your Year 1 weapons. Because some popular Year 1 weapons have returned in new form – with random rolls and the ability to carry Year 2 weapon mods.

Targeting Adjuster: This mod provides the weapon with better target acquisition or aiming assistance. Specifically, this means that the perk enhances the “stickiness” of the reticle to the target once you aim at it.

Passive defending

If you try to intercept balls, you should use side-steps. By pressing L2 (LT button), you put your player in a defensive stance facing the ball and can react quickly. This is especially suitable for players with a high defensive rating like Radja Nainggolan or Kanté. However, these players are extremely expensive in Ultimate Team – thus you need a lot of coins.
These are the advantages of passive defending: Passive defending was an integral part of successful defensive players, especially in online matches of previous series installments. The trick: You can intercept deadly passes in depth early and even initiate the counter.
You need to consider: When defending with AI, the next player always charges the opponent on the ball. This should never be one of your center-backs. If you remove your center-backs from the defense line, spaces open up that the opponent can exploit. So try to put pressure on the opponent early with your attack and midfield.
Active defending
This is how active defending works: In active defending, you personally run at the ball-carrying opponent with your chosen player. By sprinting (R2/RT), you reach the opponent and try to position your player between the ball and the opponent using side-steps (L2/LT). If you hold the X button (A button) while defending, your player stays close to the opponent and you can focus on the exact direction of the running paths.
These are the advantages of active defending: In previous installments of the FIFA series, active defending was not very popular. The reason: Your opponents could easily evade with a simple pass.
But in FIFA 19, passes have become significantly less accurate. Players need to turn more in the right direction to make correct passes. These movements give you the necessary time to apply pressure on the opponent. With strong pressing and anticipation, you can prevent spaces from developing for the opponent.

You need to consider: Even though it has become more difficult: A well-timed pass from your opponent can immediately nullify the defensive effort. So it is important to judge the right moment when active defending is worthwhile.
Moreover, active defending is extremely demanding on your players’ stamina. If you chase every opponent and possibly sprint after them if they escape, you will lose a lot of stamina. This can come back to haunt you later in the game.
The active-passive combination
Utilize the advantages of both variants: The best way to defend requires a lot of concentration and observation. As long as your opponent has the ball, you should assess how promising an attack via active defending is. Lurk with AI defense for a pass from the opponent until the opportunity for active ball recovery arises.
