In recent weeks, more and more larger streamers have checked out Final Fantasy XIV and were often surprised by the behavior of the community. They were warmly welcomed by the players.
This is what happened: Since July 16, the big streamer Summit1g has been playing FFXIV almost non-stop in his streams and apparently enjoys it. As a Dragoon, he is calmly progressing through the content of the MMORPG, such as the Primal boss fights, Bahamut raids, and hardcore fishing.
Meanwhile, the streamer has reached the first expansion Heavensward. The expansion is very popular in the FFXIV community due to its story. It landed at 2nd place in our poll for best expansions and is generally regarded as the point where the MMORPG really becomes good. To celebrate the event, some players in FFXIV prepared a reception for Summit1g that overwhelmed him.
In the Twitch clip, numerous players gathered in front of Ishgard on their mounts in a large formation that stretched to the city gates. Entering Ishgard is only possible in the Heavensward expansion and is therefore considered a significant moment.
Summit1g could not stop being amazed and repeatedly said: “Holy shit, those are all players, those are all players,” and he warmly thanked them for the reception.
Other streamers experienced this too: A similar action in Heavensward and other places in FFXIV has also been experienced by other streamers besides Summit1g. The WoW personality RichWCampbell was also astonished and completely overwhelmed by the honor guard waiting for him at the gates of Ishgard. In the corresponding Twitch clip, he can hardly believe that they are all real players lined up on their mounts at the sides.
Streamers JesseCox and AnnieFuchsia, who have both been around longer than Summit1g, also spoke positively about their community experiences in FFXIV. In the MogTalk podcast of well-known content creator Frosty Mogborn (via YouTube), they shared the following:
I had a great time, but I’m always amazed at how creative the players are. […] One of the coolest and most surprising moments was when I arrived in Ishgard and there were people lined up next to the stairs. And it took me a moment to realize that they were real people and they were standing there for me.

The WoW streamer Esfand, on the other hand, did not start playing Final Fantasy XIV voluntarily. On July 8, he shared a picture of a tree stump on Twitter and said: “If this stump gets 10,000 likes, I will play Final Fantasy 14 next week.”
The picture collected the necessary amount of likes and even more on the same day. Today, on July 30, the stump has over 24,200 likes. Esfand kept his promise and streamed FFXIV in the following weeks. He was also surprised by the warm reception from the community.
He wrote: “The FFXIV community was so wonderful and welcoming. The chat environment was great and the game is fun. I’ve just had a lot of fun so far, thank you all” (via Twitter.com).
Here’s what it’s about: A large part of the Final Fantasy XIV community is often very eager to promote their beloved MMORPG. A slogan about “the award-winning MMORPG with a free trial through level 60” has been spread thousands of times on social media and in forums as a meme.
Therefore, this part of the community tries to warmly welcome the large streamers in FFXIV, as they know that new interested players will also start with the MMORPG with the streamers. And that contributes to growth and popularity.
The amazement of the streamers is partly due to their usual experience within games. Stream-snipes, or targeted hunting of streamers to ruin their fun, is a common practice in many multiplayer games. Accordingly, they are surprised when they receive a warm welcome that makes their gaming experience enjoyable.
Moreover, the response from Square Enix to stream-sniping has surprised some, especially streamer Asmongold. His first experience with the community in FFXIV had not been so rosy.
On his first streaming day, he was followed by snipers on large mounts to obstruct his view and harass him. However, Square Enix responded with a temporary ban of one of the snipers, and the harassment stopped. Asmongold commented: “It’s incredible how easily a problem can be solved when the company actually cares.”
Not every streamer, of course, receives a grand parade or formation, but the reactions of the big personalities in the streaming community still circulate and encourage other players to try FFXIV. Thus, the eager FFXIV promoters achieve their goal.

In the new MMORPG New World there are some tricky quests. The quest marker for the task “A Threat One After Another” is supposed to lead you to Bo’sun Ambrose, but it doesn’t do so exactly. We at MeinMMO will show you where the pirate is located and how you can defeat him.
How do you find Bo’sun Ambrose? The pirate hides at least as well as the treasure he buries. Following the quest marker of the quest “A Threat One After Another” will lead you to Nyhart’s Anchor, but there you will wait in vain for the boss, who is hiding in his cave.
To find this cave, turn to the east at the dock and walk straight ahead until you spot a staircase leading down. If you follow this staircase, you will soon stand in front of a cave entrance guarded by pirates.
You should clear these pirates out of the way now, as they will otherwise follow you to the boss, making the fight even harder. Once you have found the cave entrance, just keep going straight. You will follow the cave around a bend and then find Bo’sun Ambrose after a few meters.
However, he has the same problem as the boss fight against Alastor the Watchful, namely that he is not always there. The fight against Ambrose takes place not in an instance, but in the open world. So, if the pirate is currently dead, you will have to wait until he reappears.
Amazon advises impatient players to restart the quest via the journal (key J) or even restart the entire game. This may cause the pirate to appear for you, allowing you to complete the quest.

How does the fight against the pirate go? Bo’sun Ambrose is equipped with a heavy but slow melee weapon. As already explained above, you should eliminate all of his minions on the way to him. This makes the fight considerably easier.
The fight against Bo’sun Ambrose can be approached well, especially at range. He is slow but deals a lot of damage if he hits you. You should therefore try to keep the Bo’sun at a distance as much as possible. Especially abilities and enhancements that slow down the opponent are particularly good here.
In melee, we recommend quick, short attacks so that you can back away before getting hit by him. If you keep these tips in mind, you should have no problem defeating Bo’sun Ambrose.

The team Fnatic was one of the top teams in the European League of Legends for years. But in 2021, things did not go well at all. The star player Rekkles was gone, contracts of 3 main players expired, and the results were poor. However, with 3 rather bold changes to the roster, the team managed to make a turnaround.
This was the crisis of Fnatic: The spring of 2021 was poor for Fnatic. In the playoffs of the Spring Split 2021 of the LEC, they missed the semifinals for the first time in four years, were eliminated by Schalke 04, and finished only 5th in the LEC. The problems were manifold:

The data miners have discovered new texts in Pokémon GO that hint at new Pokémon sizes and an Eevee ticket. We have taken a look at what has been discovered in the game’s code and summarized all the information for you.
What happened? The PokeMiners, a group of data miners, regularly search the code of Pokémon GO for new information and publish their findings. This group has now found new texts in the game. We examined what these texts are about and explain what they mean for you.
Through searching the game code, data miners have found numerous innovations in Pokémon GO in the past, which were known before their actual release. Recently, lewymd shared the current findings of the data miners on reddit (via reddit.com). We show you what they are:
Previously, you could catch Pokémon in sizes XS to XL in the game. There are even medals for catching a certain number of monsters in a specific size, such as big Magikarp or tiny Rattata. Now, the PokeMiners have found texts indicating that there will also be Pokémon in XXS and XXL in the future. In the code, it looks like this:

Now he has focused on the assault rifles in Warzone and analyzed the barrel upgrades for the assault rifles from Cold War.
What do barrel upgrades do? The barrel of your assault rifle has a significant impact on its firepower. Among other things, it improves bullet velocity and the distance over which damage is dealt. Therefore, it is very important that you choose the right barrel for the right weapon.

In FIFA 22 the new gameplay has now been presented in detail and we explain to you why the new “Explosive Sprint” is particularly exciting.
In a new trailer for FIFA 22, EA focused on the gameplay innovations. In addition to the highly publicized HyperMotion features, which bring 4,000 new animations into the game, the new “Explosive Sprint” stood out particularly.
We looked at the new Pitch Notes (via EA) and explain to you what this new feature is all about.
This is what the “Explosive Sprint” can do: The new explosive sprint is supposed to reward good timing with a significant sprint boost in FIFA 22, thereby providing more dynamism in 1 VS 1 situations. Both players with the ball and players without the ball can utilize the new boost.
EA clarifies that timing is essential, and the full boost is only activated when players are in a straight forward motion. If this is not the case, the boost will be slightly slower and will not reach its full potential.
Additionally, the developer speaks of a cooldown phase that occurs after using the “Explosive Sprint” so that it cannot be spammed.

How does the new boost work? To execute the new “Explosive Sprint”, you need to press the sprint button (R2/RT) at the right moment. However, how this time window precisely looks is not yet known.
But maybe a demo for FIFA 22 will come, where players can try out the feature.
This was the case in FIFA 21: In FIFA 21, there was a similar boost with the Bridge skill. This was executed by double pressing R1/RB. The difference from the new “Explosive Sprint” is that in FIFA 21, only the player with the ball could perform it. Players without the ball were left empty-handed.
That’s why “Explosive Sprint” is exciting: The new sprint mechanic sounds like a gameplay innovation that could actually provide more dynamism and exciting duels. Defenders can finally do something against the nasty boost, which is significantly fairer than before.

Many players of the new MMORPG New World are currently wondering how to defeat Alastor or how to find him at all. Getting hold of and tracking down the nasty wizard is not as simple as it sounds. This is due to a common problem with new MMORPGs. We will show you how to find and defeat Alastor.
How do you find Alastor the Vigilant? At the end of the quest “The Ritual,” you should encounter the boss fight against Alastor the Vigilant. You will find him on a platform corresponding to the quest marker. At least you should find him there, as he can sometimes be unfindable.
This is due to a typical MMORPG problem: Boss fights in New World do not take place in instances, but in the normal world. The boss spawns for everyone, not just for you. So it might well be that you arrive and have to wait for the boss.
Amazon also tells players that they can reload the quest section via the journal (key “J”) and then have another chance at the boss. Alternatively, according to Amazon, you could simply restart the game. We would only recommend doing this if you are on a server without long login queues.
Another tip from us: Don’t go through the blue veil before you have defeated Alastor the Vigilant. Players increasingly report bugs in the quest after doing exactly this (via newworld.com).
How do you best fight against Alastor? Alastor himself is a wizard who relies on ranged combat. However, he is accompanied by two to three skeleton warriors who deal significant damage in melee. You should take care of them first while simply running away from Alastor.

Once you have defeated the skeleton warriors, you can easily rush at Alastor. He is relatively defenseless in melee and should not pose too much of a challenge. Once you have defeated Alastor the Vigilant, the quest is complete.
You do not necessarily need to deliver the final blow to the boss to complete the quest “The Ritual.” It is enough if you participated in the fight, meaning that you dealt some damage.

Jack “CouRage” Dunlop is primarily known for his content on CoD Warzone and other Call of Duty titles on YouTube. However, for the new season, he played the competitor Apex Legends again and was excited about a generally unpopular feature.
What kind of system is this? Skill-based matchmaking (“SBMM”) has been annoying players in Call of Duty for a while. The feature assigns teammates that are approximately on your skill level.
Your performance in your recent games is calculated and compared with that of other players. Generally, the rule is: the better you play, the tougher your opponents will be in upcoming rounds.
What is bad about it? To stay in the positive point area or maintain a positive K/D, you need to play even better in each round than before. This makes it difficult to “play casually” since you have to always give your best.
Stronger players are particularly annoyed by the system, as they have little chance to relax and are constantly under pressure. Also, SBMM can be exploited, as many players have shown multiple times.
At times, there were entire “reverse boosting” lobbies where players deliberately played poorly. They dragged their ranking down so much that they faced only beginners and the weakest players in several rounds afterward.
Since they are better, they could easily dominate the weak lobbies and ruin the fun for all players who “rightfully” belong there. And even in the previous games, they likely annoyed their teammates with their constant deaths.
How does Apex Legends do it better now? CouRage explains in a tweet that while Apex Legends also uses SBMM, it does it better here. The reason is simple: There is a ranking system.
With a proper rank, the SBMM is not bad at all, according to CouRage. He says: “Who would have thought that playing with skill-based matchmaking WITH a rank would make people want to play more?! What a crazy thought!”
In Apex Legends, you receive a reward for consistently putting in effort and can track and display your performance through a rank badge. CouRage, for example, has climbed to “Master” in a short time, which is apparently a satisfying achievement.
Warzone does not provide anything like that. There, you play without a rank, but with a hidden matchmaking rating (“MMR”). So you are basically playing ranked matches continuously, but without tangible rewards. For CouRage, Apex Legends is clearly the “best battle royale there is” right now.
Who is CouRage anyway? CouRage actually comes from the professional scene, where he started in 2007. After his career as a pro gamer, he worked as a caster for Major League Gaming (MLG) and eventually as a streamer and content creator for 100 Thieves.

Destiny 2 is getting complete crossplay with the new Season 15. Bungie has presented the new feature for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, as well as on PC (Steam) and Google Stadia. You will receive a new name so you can save the universe together. When and how will crossplay affect you?
Crossplay is finally coming to Destiny 2 on August 24. Guardians scattered across all platforms have been waiting for this for a long time. However, the feature will not have all functions at launch. We explain what you need to prepare for and what will be different.

Bungie has released quite a bit of information about crossplay. In this article, we focus on the most important information and summarize it for you.
Your Bungie Name in Destiny is made up of your previous player name, which you see in the game, plus “#” and a random string of numbers.
All names must also go through a filter that removes offensive terms and all symbols that are not cross-platform. Later, there will be the option to change the Bungie Name. If you have a name that is completely filtered out, you will be called “Guardian+random number” until then.
Thanks to crossplay, you can also find players across platforms, invite them, or make new friends – the system is called “Bungie Friends”. With the Bungie Name, you can search for players who are not on your home platform. This can be done in-game or through the Bungie.net friend finder.
You will then see your Bungie Friends in the fireteam menu. Clans in Destiny 2 currently function in a similar way. You can also see your Clan Guardians when they are saving the universe on other platforms.
Destiny 2 offers a fireteam finder on Bungie.net and via the official companion app. This works with crossplay across platforms (previously, you had to specify your platform and only saw players from there). You can also send invitations to all systems in-game.
Yes, but neither voice chat nor text chat will be available at the launch of crossplay on August 24.
Voice chat for crossplay in-game is scheduled to be integrated shortly after the start of Season 15. Text chat is expected to function on consoles like it does on Steam before the next expansion (early 2022).

The recently released cinematic about Sylvanas also caused drama and many thumbs down.
What is shown in the cinematic? The cinematic depicts the finale of the questline. The former night warriors have just performed a ritual to save Tyrande. The ritual fails, and the Winter Queen must intervene. The moon goddess Elune speaks through Tyrande and holds a dialogue with the Winter Queen. She is angry that Elune did not help when help was requested.
Elune counters that she helped – after all, she sent all the souls of the night elves into the Ardenweald during the burning of Teldrassil. However, the souls never arrived and ended up in the Maw.
The Winter Queen believes that this does not have to be the end for the souls and that they can still be saved, starting with Tyrande. Elune leaves the choice to Tyrande: pursue vengeance or choose renewal. Only a few days left for the beta of New World and many players have used the time so far to test the features of the new MMORPG. Among them is streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, who is quite enthusiastic about the many contents.
This is what shroud says: In one of his recent streams, shroud talked about the endgame and the general contents of New World. He praises that New World does everything right when it comes to endgame.

The new co-op roguelite Tribes of Midgard was released on July 27 for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Although the gameplay is designed for co-op, Tribes of Midgard also offers a solo mode. It’s quite challenging. MeinMMO gives you 5 tips on how to survive alone.
What tips are these? We will tell you how to best build your base and the tricks to survive the first nights in Tribes of Midgard. This way, you will get better into the “midgame” and have more breathing room later on when the game increases in difficulty.
Tribes of Midgard runs in rounds. You start fresh in each round, needing to gather equipment, weapons, and upgrades again. You will be (almost) attacked every night by monsters that want to destroy your village. Alone and as a newcomer, you can quickly fall victim to the overwhelming number of enemies.
In the first reactions to Tribes of Midgard, one of the biggest criticisms is that the game is extremely difficult. It is therefore important to have the right foundation to build upon later in the game. With our tips, you can achieve that.
Is it worth playing solo at all? Yes, absolutely. While playing with friends allows for better task distribution and probably a bit less stress, the game also scales with the number of players in a round.
So, playing alone makes it slightly easier against wildlife and monsters, as the health points of the attacking giants are also significantly lower. Nevertheless, playing Tribes of Midgard solo is a great challenge and is only advisable for players who can also accept a defeat.
When you start a new round in saga mode, the first night will be quite short. You will still receive a warning that monsters will attack you. Simply ignore this message on the first night.

Again and again, the question arises on social media whether there is a Shiny Charm in Pokémon GO. We explain what it is and whether you can find it in the game.
What is it about? Social media frequently features questions from trainers about the Shiny Charm. Recently, the YouTuber Spieletrends also used this term in his video about the first day of GO Fest to express his high yield of Shiny Pokémon (via youtube.com).
We have looked into what the Shiny Charm is and where to find it.
The Shiny Charm is a shiny talisman from other Pokémon games, such as Pokémon Let’s GO Pikachu or Let’s GO Eevee. This allows players to increase their Shiny rates. To obtain the Shiny Charm in these games, trainers must catch a certain number of Pokémon.
In the Let’s GO games, a complete Pokédex of the first 150 monsters is required. This means they must have registered all Pokémon there, from Bulbasaur to Mewtwo. Afterwards, they can pick up their Shiny Charm at the PokéCenter.
Since the chance of obtaining a Shiny specimen significantly increases with the Shiny Charm, it is a popular item among players. For this reason, there are many inquiries about this possibility in Pokémon GO on social media.

You can also set tactics more precisely in FIFA 22. There are new instructions for your players that allow you to specify their behavior on the field more accurately. In attack, for example, you can now distinguish between two sections: building play in your own half and creating chances in the opponent’s half.

The highly anticipated MMORPG Lost Ark has detailed the contents for pre-orderers in a blog post. Among other things, Amazon also addresses the price changes of the packages. Players seem to be faking their location to already affect the economy in the game. What is behind this?
What are Pioneer Packages? While Lost Ark is technically a free-to-play game, certain pioneer packages can still be pre-ordered to get secure access to the closed beta, early access to the game, and more.
The packages come in different price tiers:
Except for the newly introduced Bronze package, all tiers include the in-game currency “royal crystals”. Moreover, the packages were long priced at a uniform level worldwide.
What does this mean? A uniform price level means that the packages cost the same in every available country, in the respective currency. So the Platinum package costs not only €99.99 here, but also $99.99 in America. However, since this does not reflect the same value because currencies are worth different amounts, the package did not cost the same worldwide.
Players took advantage of this and pretended to have a false location to buy the packages at a lower price from other regions. Since these packages include real money currency, this directly affects the economy in the game, without even having been released.
How does Amazon respond? To counter this, Amazon is now globalizing the prices of the pioneer packages. This means that the Silver, Gold, and Platinum packages now actually have the same value everywhere and therefore no longer identical prices. This prevents issues in the in-game economy.
The publisher is aware that this is particularly a problem for poorer countries. Therefore, it is now introducing the Bronze package, which does not include in-game currency, but still offers many advantages. The price of the Bronze packages remains standardized at €14.99 of the respective currency worldwide to ensure access for as many people as possible.

Some trainers in Pokémon GO report receiving a notification about a new social feature in the game that wants to access contacts. We took a look at what this notification is about and what the trainers are saying.
What happened? In the community on reddit, reports are piling up from trainers who received a notification from Pokémon GO while accessing their friends list in the game. As you can see in the following image, a new social feature called “Niantic Social” is announced.
It is evident that Niantic wants to access trainers’ contacts in the future. This unsettles some players, as they express on reddit. For example, Bennguyen2 writes: “I’m not giving them any information about my contact list. Good thing I denied contact permissions in the app settings.” (via reddit.com).
As seen in the statement from Niantic, contacts are supposed to be used so that trainers can find other players from their contact list to invite them as friends in Pokémon GO. A similar function already exists in the game for the Facebook friends list. Those who are connected to Facebook in Pokémon GO have the option to search for other trainers in their contact list.
Due to the “Continue” button in the notification, some trainers are now unsettled as they do not wish to share their contacts. However, this notification is merely information, as reddit user Duarjo clearly points out in his post.
He writes: “For those worried about it just saying ‘Continue,’ it means to continue to the notice … To activate the feature, a separate option will appear, and you will have to grant permission to the app from your phone; it’s not something Niantic does without your permission.” (via reddit.com)
Trainers on reddit are not enthusiastic about this new feature. Some express concerns regarding privacy. User inksquid256 writes: “Niantic wants to farm your contact list. It’s supposed to ‘help’ you find more friends from your contacts” (via reddit.com).
Trainer EnterNameRightHere also asks in his post: “My question is whether I appear to those who allow access to their contacts because I’m in their contact list? Even though it’s a feature I DO NOT want?” (via reddit.com)
NordKettle suspects that this is an update to better communicate with friends. He also hopes this will lead to the introduction of an in-game chat and a way to increase trading distance (via reddit.com).
In June, Niantic announced new social features in their games to the website Bloomberg. These should help trainers coordinate their meetings better in the future. Many trainers hoped for the long-awaited introduction of an in-game chat.
