9:30 PM: New World reaches over 120,000 concurrent players and ranks 6th on Steam. PUBG (121,000) and Lost Ark (124,000) are still within reach.

8:02 PM: Cleopatra is here.

8:00 PM: Ulthar is the next new server.

7:59 PM: New World is at over 110,000 players. Record in 2022 and ranked 7th in the current Steam charts.

7:55 PM: Just before Cleopatra, the server Morgaine was launched.

7:52 PM: Just over 110,000 concurrent players is the best value for 2022, by the way. With 102,000 we are already quite close.

7:50 PM: In a few minutes, the last regular new server Cleopatra will launch.

7:30 PM: No new server so far. Jupiter also has a 3,000 queue.

7:21 PM: In the forum, some players are demanding larger instead of more servers. The developers explain that there cannot be more for the player experience and that performance would suffer under larger servers.

7:19 PM: New server Jupiter, still without wait time.

7:16 PM: Dracul (the event server only for streamers) has 12 people in the queue, Crassus 800. The other servers are in four digits.

7:08 PM: And already 3,100 players in the queue.

7:07 PM: Apophis is here.

7:06 PM: New World surpasses 100,000 concurrent players. Still 19,000 until Lost Ark.

7:02 PM: Apophis is taking its time, but Galahad has launched.

6:54 PM: Apophis will appear in a few minutes. A new server, a new chance.

6:52 PM: The issue with character creation is supposed to be resolved:

Character creation limits have been adjusted! You may try again now to make a character when you otherwise could not.

6:46 PM: New World breaks the 90,000 concurrent players. Thus, the MMORPG currently ranks 8th on Steam.

6:43 PM: Amazon seems significantly more flexible with the servers than at release. But: The official announcements for the additional servers come so late that they are already full.

6:42 PM: Kronos is another new server, also already with a queue.

6:40 PM: All new servers have queues, but the three newest are still in the triple digits.

6:36 PM: Dracul is also a new server and currently has no queue.

6:34 PM: If we see this correctly, new servers outside of the order have been opened with Crassus and Fate.

6:30 PM: A total of over 22,000 players are still waiting in queues for the Fresh Start. That would be about 10 more servers.

6:27 PM: For anyone looking for some guides to New World:

6:25 PM: Keep an eye on the server list. It is quite possible that an additional server will come at half-past.

6:20 PM: Some players are also complaining about an error message saying they cannot create a character, even though they have space for it.

The developers are already working on a solution.

6:15 PM: The developers warn against leaving queues too often and creating new characters. You could enter a bot timeout:

Please be careful with leaving queue to make another character, there ARE limits to prevent character spamming (bot protection) and you’ll be locked out for a time limit.

6:12 PM: With over 86,000 concurrent players, we are currently at the level of mid-January.

6:10 PM: Queues:

• Artemis – 13,000
• Gawain – 5,300
• Imhotep – 4,000

6:02 PM: The second or third server Gawain is live.

6:00 PM: Currently, about 13,000 players are waiting for the new server Artemis and 3,000 for Imhotep. Even the three upcoming servers cannot cope with the influx with about 2,000 to 2,500 spots each.

Amazon still needs to react.

5:55 PM: With Imhotep, another server has been launched outside of the usual order.

5:50 PM: On Steam, New World is reaching high player numbers again. With just 78,000 concurrent players, it is above the level of February.

New World last had 100,000 players on January 6th. Let’s see if it gets broken tonight.

5:35 PM: As expected, there were queues in no time. The picture comes from our boss Dawid, who wanted to test New World again today.

5:30 PM: The first server Artemis should be starting any moment now. What this specifically means for the start of the other servers, we will see.

5:05 PM: The launch of the new servers is delayed by 15 to 30 minutes. Community Manager Luxendra revealed this in the forum.

When does the Fresh Start take place? The new servers will launch on November 2 at different times. Four servers will be opened for Europe, each appearing one hour apart:

New World Fresh Start: Everything about the brand new servers

On November 2, the so-called Fresh Start took place in New World. This involves opening servers that can only be accessed by completely new characters. Essentially, players experience a second release. We at MeinMMO reveal everything about the time, names, and special features of the servers.

When does the Fresh Start take place? The new servers will start on November 2 at different times. Four servers will be opened for Europe, each appearing one hour apart:

Old characters cannot enter the new servers for now

What makes the Fresh Start so special? New World had to deal with a number of problems at launch, including gold dupes and other economic exploits. Some players were so bothered by this that they stopped playing the MMORPG.

The “Fresh Start” servers, however, begin completely from scratch. Everyone starts anew, no one benefits from exploits, and it feels almost like a second release. A transfer between the new worlds is currently not possible.

However, the developers stated that at some point in the future, the servers will also be opened for transfers so that friends from old and new servers can play together. However, the new servers will never be merged with the old ones, not in the future either.

Can I also participate as a veteran? Yes, veterans can also create a new character and start anew on the servers. In this context, on November 2, every account will receive a third character slot.

What else do I need to know?

• The number of simultaneous players on the new servers will be identical to the old ones – so about 2,500.
• The new worlds in Europe will not receive a language designation.
• The worlds will start directly with all the new features, but without the Halloween event.

Level phase, quests, and travel costs have been revised

Is it worth starting over in New World? Yes, if you liked anything about the release version of New World. Because the basic game systems are still present, but with many adjustments, including:

• All weapons are available right from the start.
• The level phase up to level 25 has been completely revised, including adjusted quests, shorter travel routes, and more.
• The required experience points from level 35 to 55 have been significantly reduced.
• Fast travel is now generally cheaper, the inventory weight is not calculated separately, and there are more fast travel points.
• You run faster on roads, you can use the inventory while running, and the storage from all cities now counts across the board.
• The combat system has become more dynamic and has been supplemented with new weapons.

1. Try all weapons early

In New World, there are no classes. Instead, your weapons determine what skills you have, and your equipment gives you corresponding (or non-corresponding) stats. Additionally, you can allocate attribute points with each level-up.

Up to level 20, you can reset your allocated points for free. Therefore, it makes sense to try out all weapons and different builds early on, since you won’t incur any losses by doing so.

All weapons have been available to you since the latest update in the starting area.

For leveling up, it is advisable to attack enemies with a ranged weapon to gain an initial advantage. Many enemies will attack you in melee, so a melee weapon is useful. To help you find your way as a newcomer, we have compiled some beginner builds here:

2. Use campfires for respawning

Every player can place their campfire almost anywhere in the world. It is inexpensive and provides you the opportunity to craft at your current location. But the campfire has an even more important function.

It can be used as a respawn point.

So, if you know that you will be gathering and questing in the area for a while or are facing a big challenge where you might die, you should place your campfire early.

3. Choose a faction and join a company

Between levels 10 and 17, you learn about the three factions in the game and should join one of them:

• Marauder – A faction reminiscent of pirates. It is largely about freedom rather than power.
• Covenant – This is a faction of crusaders focused on fighting evil and the Corrupted.
• Syndicate – A faction of alchemists focused on potions and magic.

Only after you have joined a faction can you create your own company or join one. You should definitely do this, as New World is an MMO and playing with many players is much more fun.

Additionally, you can conquer or defend a stronghold with them. Participation in a PvP war in New World is already possible as soon as you join a faction.

4. Gather everything and dismantle it

New World uses a weight system for its inventory. If you carry too much, you will move slower. The equipment you find that you carry also weighs down your inventory. But you can easily get around this.

Just use right-click + the “S” key and the found equipment will be dismantled. This will give you materials with which you can repair your current equipment.

As a rule of thumb: If the equipment is weaker than yours and not worth selling in the AH, then dismantle it immediately.

In general, you should pick up everything you can find on your way, as you can use it to craft your first new equipment.

5. Use the storage in the cities

Another tip to avoid unnecessary weight in your inventory is to store raw materials in cities. The cool thing is that you can automatically access the stored items for crafting.

You don’t even have to take them out of storage again unless you want to change cities.

6. Always equip ammunition and food

Throughout your adventures, you will repeatedly fill your inventory with arrows, ammunition for rifles, and various food items. However, when you equip these items, they do not actually take up inventory space, even if you don’t want to use the arrows at all.

A useful tip to save a bit of space, even though ammunition is no longer required to use a ranged weapon since the latest patch in March.

7. More bags are available at higher levels

A final tip about inventory is related to additional bag slots. You automatically unlock these when you reach levels 30 and 45. So, if you’re close to these milestones, push through to be able to carry a bit more while on the move.

8. This is how fast travel works

In New World, you can quickly travel to a settlement if you want to save long walking distances. Simply open the map, select the respective settlement, and click on fast travel.

With a patch in spring 2022, the Azoth costs for fast travel were drastically reduced.

Another useful tip: Fully loaded, you cannot fast travel. However, you can die and then respawn in the city. Thanks to MeinMMO reader Thomas Lauterbach.

9. More XP through PvP

If you want to be a bit riskier while traveling in New World, you can activate optional PvP. This allows other players to attack you, but you will receive 10% more experience points in all your activities.

However, be aware that you can only activate and deactivate PvP in settlements.

10. For housing, you need territory levels

To increase your storage space in cities or simply to build your own home, New World offers an interesting housing system. To own a house, you must reach level 15 in the respective territory.

After that, you can buy 1 house per territory and a total of 3 houses in the game. However, each house incurs weekly maintenance costs, which can get expensive.
