On May 24th, Overwatch celebrates its official release. But at what time does it actually start?
Shortly after midnight the launch begins
After years of waiting, Overwatch, Blizzard’s first foray into the shooter genre, is finally at the starting line. On May 24th, the game launches simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. To avoid any confusion or uncertainty about the exact launch date, Blizzard has written a new blog post that equips players with all the important information.
In Germany, Overwatch is set to be released on May 24th at 1:00 AM, so players can start shooting shortly after midnight.
Last week we asked: Will you get Overwatch? More than half of our readers have already decided to purchase it, while about a quarter is waiting for the release to see if friends will join. You still have the opportunity to benefit from the pre-order, so you can secure the “Noire” skin for Widowmaker (e.g. here on Amazon).

Preparation and Installation
On PC, the installation of Overwatch is typically easy, occurring through the Battle.net launcher. If one has purchased the physical game, they must first add the included key to their Battle.net account to register the game license. On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it’s similarly straightforward – with a physical version, inserting the disc is sufficient; otherwise, Overwatch must be downloaded from the respective store.
