14 variations for the Weekly Brawl mode of Overwatch have already been discovered. We present them to you.
Harsh Randomness and Strict Restrictions
Inspired by the card chaos in Hearthstone , Overwatch gets a “Weekly Brawl” mode that comes with numerous crazy game settings. A total of 14 variations of this mode have now been extracted from the game files, we present them to you:
- Mystery Heroes – After each death, a random hero is assigned to the player, who must be played until the next death. Therefore, there is no free hero selection.
- Super Shimada Bros. – Only Genji and Hanzo can be selected as heroes on the map Hanamura. The cooldowns of the abilities are drastically reduced, while the cooldowns of the ultimates are increased.
- Justice rains from Above – All players can only choose Mercy or Pharah.
- Arcade – More health points for everyone. Shorter cooldowns and faster respawn timers.
- We’re all soldiers now – All players can only choose Soldier: 76 to capture the various control maps.
- Show your Support – Only support heroes can be chosen. A maximum of two of the same hero per team.
- Tanks a Lot – All tank heroes can be chosen. A maximum of two of the same hero per team.
- Overly Offensive – Only offensive heroes can be chosen. A maximum of two of the same hero per team.
- Overly Defensive – Only defensive heroes can be chosen. A maximum of two of the same hero per team.
- The Good, the Bad and the Ugly – Only McCree, Reaper, and Roadhog can be chosen as heroes.
- Head’s up! – Only snipers can be chosen (McCree, Genji, Hanzo, and Widowmaker) and only headshots deal damage.
- High Noon – All players must play McCree on the map “Route 66”. Only headshots deal damage. Those who enjoy westerns will likely be happy with this.
- MOBA-watch – Each hero may only appear 1 time per team. The heroes cannot be switched during the round.
- Girl Power – Only female heroes may be played.
According to current plans, these special game modes are supposed to change weekly. However, during the current beta, they rotate daily – so if you are lucky enough to have beta access, you should check in every day to judge which variations are really fun and which are rather painful.
