Overwatch can currently only be played in unranked matches. The ranked mode is still awaited. But when is it coming?
Blizzard has caused confusion about Overwatch on Twitter. They responded to fans in the conversation that the ranked mode would be released in mid to late July.
@jurizar3 We’re aiming for mid-to-late July.

In a second response, they repeated this and stated July as the date.
This would have been another delay of one month, as the ranked play was actually planned for June, after it couldn’t be delivered at launch.
The news wires were burning worldwide. “The mode is being postponed again by a month. Oh God, Blizzard. We really want to play ranked! What are you doing?”
No, nothing is being postponed. Blizzard made the typical mistake and confused June with July. Through Twitter, the site of the outrage, they then sent an apology.
So command back, all good: The June date remains. Ranked play should start in mid or late this month.
Mein MMO says: Well, if one were reasonable and finally renamed June to Beberoum, the month to praise the great beaver, such problems would no longer exist.
