The Winter Wonderland event 2018 in Overwatch is starting soon. As every year, there are event game modes and new skins. The first new skin has been revealed by Blizzard.
This new skin appears: The first skin shown for Overwatch for Winter Wonderland 2018 is the legendary skin “Snowboarder Zarya.” This was recently tweeted by Blizzard.
Zarya’s Snowboarder skin features a snow suit with a bear hat and a stubby tail, as well as a backpack with a polar bear charm. The inscription on the side of the particle cannon in snow cannon style means “Blizzard” in Russian, according to some users.
This is what the fans are celebrating: The reactions on Twitter and on Reddit have mostly been positive since the announcement. Fans are excited that there is finally a “usable Zarya skin.” Many find the details, such as the fluffy tail on the pants and the hat, adorable.
The connection to the “great Siberian bear” that Zarya would like to cuddle in one of her quotes is frequently mentioned. According to fan reactions, it seems Blizzard has done everything right with this skin.
New Skins for Winter Wonderland 2018
Are there more skins coming? Last year for Winter Wonderland 2017 there were a total of seven new Legendary skins. So, it is expected that we will also get about the same amount of new skins this year.
Another name for a skin has also already been leaked. It seems there will be a “Skater” skin. The theme this year could be winter sports.
The price of the skins is expected to be around 3,000 credits again. This is usually the cost of new legendary skins for current events. The old Winter Wonderland skins from 2016 and 2017 will be cheaper.
When does Winter Wonderland start? Starting on December 11, you can equip yourself with the new skins for Winter Wonderland 2018. The event runs for nearly 3 weeks until January 2.
During this time, you can either purchase or unlock the new skins. You can earn event loot boxes through leveling up or winning in arcade mode. The “Mei’s Yeti Hunt” mode from 2017 will probably also be back.
During the duration of Winter Wonderland 2018, some maps will be decorated for Christmas. In a short trailer, it can be seen how Blizzard World shines in a nighttime Christmas glow instead of showing the sunny day in the amusement park.
