After some waiting time, Symmetra is now available in Overwatch in ranked mode. This increases the selection of heroes.
The number of playable heroes in Overwatch is increasing again in ranked mode. Symmetra is now available again in ranked mode of Overwatch starting today. After her repeated overhaul, you can now play her in “Ranked Matches” and teach enemies to fear her turrets.
Why was Symmetra banned? Symmetra was heavily overhauled, has new abilities, and even received a new role. To give players enough time to adjust to these changes in Quick Play, she was temporarily unplayable in ranked mode. This grace period is now over, so she can use her photon weaponry again in Ranked.
What has changed about Symmetra? Symmetra received her second major rework with the last patch. She is no longer classified as Support, but is now also one of the Damage heroes. The number of her turrets has been reduced to three, her Teleporter is now a normal ability, and as an Ultimate, she has a gigantic barrier that spans the entire map and absorbs a whopping 5,000 damage points. We have detailed all the changes to Symmetra in this article.
Next up is the new hero Wrecking Ball. He is currently still being tested on the PTR, and there is no release date yet. However, he will also have to go through a “trial period” before he is playable in ranked mode.
Are you looking forward to playing Symmetra in ranked mode, and will you play her there? Or did you enjoy the free time without Symmetra?
