Finally, there is information about the Halloween event 2019 in Overwatch. But the scariest detail might be that Zenyatta will soon learn to walk.
In October, Overwatch traditionally hosts the Halloween event. There was already some concern that it could be canceled this year. Blizzard had not released any information or teased any content. But that has now changed. Blizzard has announced the date for the Halloween event and also shown a cool emote for Zenyatta.
When does the Halloween event take place? The event “Halloween Terror 2019” starts on October 15 – so today! It runs until November 4, 2019, which is exactly 3 weeks. During this time, players have the opportunity to earn special Halloween loot boxes and thereby obtain the unique cosmetics.
Zenyatta’s emote is strange: With the new emote for Zenyatta, Blizzard seems to have made a little joke. Instead of a truly scary emote, Zenyatta gets a moment of peace. He looks around sneakily for a moment before standing on the ground, stretching a bit, and relaxing. But after a panic look over his shoulders, he takes off again. This should clarify whether Zenyatta can actually walk. Yes, he can. He just doesn’t want to.
Fun fact: Zenyatta is one of the quietest heroes, as his steps make no noise – after all, he doesn’t touch the ground.
What other content is coming? Other content for the Halloween event has not yet been disclosed. However, further emotes and at least 3-5 new skins are expected. Blizzard has always added a lot in past events. Whether the “Junkenstein” game mode will be revised or return in the same form is also still unclear.
In a few hours, we will know more.
Are you looking forward to the Halloween event in Overwatch?
