In Overwatch a record has been set. The first player has now reached level 1000!
3 silver stars mark the last level
Levels in Overwatch have no impact on matchmaking and do not indicate how good a player really is, but are considered a solid indicator of invested playtime. Each level-up is also rewarded with a loot box, so one could say that the respective player has received one loot box per level (unless they bought more).
But no matter what level you may have reached, there is one player you surely cannot surpass. The player TaZzeRK has now reached level 1000 and is likely the first Overwatch player to achieve this in a legitimate way. He announced his success on Twitter and immediately set the next goal: “World First Gold” – meaning the first player over level 1300.
Note: There is a lengthy discussion on Twitter claiming that TaZzeRK is not actually the first, as “many players” have achieved this before him. Reports have emerged of players who allegedly reached level 1300 (especially in the Chinese region), but the level achieved and actual playtime there are in a very questionable relation, leading to the conclusion of it being a fake.
Mein-MMO says: In any case, a remarkable achievement to invest so much time into the game just to be “the first.” But gamers generally tend to set themselves special goals to stand out from the crowd. Now we just have to wait and see who manages to reach the actual maximum level of the game first – as it lies somewhere beyond 1700.
