The 5th ranked season of Overwatch returns with unique rewards.
With the start in June, a new ranked season began in Overwatch – the Competitive Season 5. As usual, there is a range of rewards to earn when diving into ranked mode. Let’s take a brief look at the rewards.
Rewards of Overwatch Season 5
Anyone who endures at least the 10 placement matches and thus receives a skill rating will receive a special spray and a player icon at the end of the season. This time, it is based on Numbani and shows the city’s large buildings in front of a sunrise.
If anyone makes it into the top 500 of their respective region at the end of the season, they will receive the player icon and the spray logo as an animated variant as well.
Unchanged is the reward of Competitive Points. As before, there are 10 Competitive Points for each game won in ranked mode or only 3 for a draw. At the end of the season, depending on the highest skill rating (SR) achieved, there is also a substantial bonus of Competitive Points:
- Bronze (SR 1-1499): 100 Competitive Points
- Silver (SR 1500-1999): 200 Competitive Points
- Gold (SR 2000-2499): 400 Competitive Points
- Platinum (SR 2500-2999): 800 Competitive Points
- Diamond (SR 3000-3499): 1200 Competitive Points
- Master (SR 3500-3999): 2000 Competitive Points
- Grandmaster (SR 4000-5000): 3000 Competitive Points
As usual, golden weapons for each hero can be purchased for the “Competitive Points” afterward. These are just an aesthetic gimmick, but they allow players to show off their past achievements. Additionally, Reinhardt looks significantly cooler when swinging a golden hammer. Each weapon costs 3,000 Competitive Points.
