Ultimates in Overwatch will dissipate in a fraction of a second soon. What this means, we will tell you here.
Although the latest update 1.15 of Overwatch (or 2.19 on PS4 and Xbox One) has only been active on the live servers for a few days, Blizzard has already activated the next patch on the public test server.
The biggest change takes place in the area of ultimates. The display for the ultimates will now be cleared immediately upon activation. Previously, the percentage display decreased from 100 to 0 over nearly 0.5 seconds. This meant that you retained a part of the ultimate charge if you were killed at the moment of activation. This “luxury” is now gone, as the charge will be consumed immediately upon activating the corresponding button.
Clarity on Assault Maps
All players who wished for clarity when capturing control points on capture maps should also rejoice. It was often almost impossible to tell whether you had already “secured” a third of a control point. With patch 1.16, there are now clear animations and a special sound when a third of the control point has been captured. This provides absolute clarity on the progress. Additionally, the interface now also shows how many defenders are on the control point – at least as long as attackers are on the control point.
There is also a small improvement for D.Va fans. They now have the opportunity to configure the booster ability in the options so that it remains activated when the button is pressed and is not just a “toggle” switch, as it was before. Many fans had especially requested this little feature.
Finally, there are smaller bug fixes, so Sombra can no longer access places that were not intended for her.
