A new update for Overwatch is live. Symmetra rework, group search, recognition. We tell you what is included in patch 1.25.
A new patch has been deployed in Overwatch. Update 1.25 brings many new features, such as the group finder or the ability to give your teammates recognitions. Additionally, the rework for Symmetra is included, and all damage heroes are now grouped in one category.
What is the recognition system? If a player has behaved particularly exemplary or kindly, you can grant them a point “Recognition” at the end of the round . This accumulates over time if other players share your opinion. Players with particularly high recognition ratings receive small rewards regularly. With this, Blizzard wants to promote and reward positive behavior.What is the group search? If you no longer want to play alone, you can now use the group search to find like-minded players. Certain parameters can already be set in advance, such as a clear role assignment or a minimum level of recognition that a player must have. This allows you to specifically search for players who have a similar level of play and comparable expectations of fun.
Overwatch Patch 1.25 Patch Notes
Below are the patch notes for patch 1.25 with all changes to the heroes and new features.
General
- All heroes in the “Defensive” and “Offensive” categories have been grouped into the new “Damage” category.
- Combat sounds can now be heard from 25% greater distance.
- The spray Varok has been renamed into Saurfang.
- Players must have mobile notifications activated on their account to be eligible for the top 500.
- The keys for “Confirm” and “Interact” can now be assigned separately.
Career
- In the career, a statistic “Total Duration of Inspiration (proportionately)” has been added for Brigitte.
- Some statistics for Symmetra have been removed from the career.
- In the career, a statistic “Critical Hit Ratio in Sniper Mode” has been added for Widowmaker.
- The career is no longer public by default (in the future it will be viewable only by friends by default). Under options > Friends and Groups > Profile visibility, the option has been added to make the career viewable by all players.
Changes to the Arcade
General
- Symmetra can now be played in 1v1 duel game modes (e.g., Limited Duel and Surprise Duel).
HERO UPDATES
Doomfist
Meteor Strike
- The movement speed bonus has been increased from 150% to 200%.
Offensive Defense
- Doomfist now receives shields of 35 for normal abilities (previously 30).
McCree
Gunman
- The range has been increased from 70 to 200 meters.
Orisa
Supercharger
- The cost of the ultimate ability has been reduced by 15%.
Symmetra
Photon Projector
- Does not automatically target anymore.
- The range has been increased to 10 meters.
- It now takes 2 seconds per damage level (previously 1 second) for the damage to increase.
- The damage increase has been raised from 30/60/120 to 60/120/180.
- Now generates ammo instead of consuming it when hitting a barrier.
- Ammo has been reduced from 100 to 70.
Secondary Fire Mode
- Does not penetrate targets anymore.
- Now explodes on impact.
- The projectile speed has been increased.
- The charge speed has been increased.
- Damage is now 60 impact/60 explosive.
Turret
- The turret is now deployed like a projectile and is no longer placed in one spot.
- Now a maximum of 3 can be held in reserve (previously 6).
- Now a maximum of 3 can be placed (previously 6).
- The damage has been increased.
- The slow effect has been enhanced.
Teleporter
- The exit can now be placed up to 25 meters away from Symmetra.
- The entrance is now automatically created in front of Symmetra and no longer in her team’s starting area.
- Lasts for 10 seconds.
- Hit points have been reduced to 300.
- More objects can now use the teleporter (e.g., Junkrat’s Kamikaze Riptire).
- The entrance can be destroyed.
- If the entrance or exit is destroyed, the counterpart will also be removed.
New Ultimate Ability: Photon Barrier
- Places a barrier large enough to cover and divide an entire map.
- The orientation can be changed by pressing the ultimate button again.
- Lasts for 15 seconds.
- Has 5,000 hit points.
Additionally, there are numerous small bug fixes and a few changes to the map Horizon Colony. The map should now be more balanced and no longer favor one of the two teams.
