The new map Blizzard World for the online shooter Overwatch has a release date. In just a few days, you’ll be diving into battle.
From January 23, a wild ride awaits you in the hero shooter, as Blizzard World, the new map, is an amusement park that offers many attractions inspired by Blizzard’s games.
This means you’ll discover many elements from the MMORPG World of Warcraft, the “hack ‘n slash” series Diablo, the collectible card game Hearthstone, and also from the RTS series Starcraft. Even attractions from early Blizzard games are represented, including Lost Vikings.
Mix of Attack and Escort
There is plenty to see and you will surely indulge in nostalgic feelings. However, you should not let this distract you from your main task: namely, to defeat your enemies. Blizzard World is described by the developers as a hybrid map combining the game modes “Attack” and “Escort”.
Your tasks include attacking certain key points on the map and escorting payloads. Therefore, it’s necessary that you communicate well with your team and develop a sophisticated tactic to achieve your goals and defeat the opponents.
Players have been testing the map on the PTR for about two months now and have provided Blizzard with plenty of feedback.
The final version, which will be released on January 23, should have been thoroughly tested and promise a lot of fun. Blizzard World will be available to you on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
2018 Will Bring Many More Contents
2018 will be a highly interesting year for fans of Overwatch. As Blizzard’s Jeff Kaplan recently mentioned, many more contents for the hero shooter are planned for the coming months. This includes new maps, new heroes, and further exciting events. Such as the Overwatch League, whose first season started on January 10.
