We will soon learn something new about the next Overwatch hero. We have the details and the date for Comic-Con 2016.
Will Sombra be confirmed at Comic-Con?
The last thing heard from Blizzard regarding new heroes for Overwatch was a statement from Jeff Kaplan that one can expect it “this year”. Just a few days ago, the game studio posted a picture on their Twitter account showing a new weapon attributed to the mysterious hero “Sombra.” Now we know that there will be fresh information about the next hero in just two weeks! This year’s Comic-Con in San Diego will hold a one-hour event on July 21 that focuses on the next hero from Overwatch.
According to the description on the Comic-Con 2016 website:
“Behind the scenes of the latest Overwatch hero
The Blizzard developer James Waugh (Director of Story & Creative Development), Michael Chu (Senior Designer), and Arnold Tsang (Assistant Art Director) present a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, showcasing the art, design, and story of the latest Overwatch hero.”
After the official presentation, there will also be a Q&A session where attendees can ask their questions about the development of the new character.
Whether the recordings from Comic-Con will be made available to the public or if there will be a live broadcast is still unknown. With a little luck, many details from the event should be leaked. Blizzard might also reveal more about the upcoming hero – after all, the player community would be quite disappointed if they weren’t “informed immediately.”
