Fans have long waited and speculated about the costs of League Tokens and how they will be implemented in Overwatch. Since last night (January 9, 2018), there is a new menu item “Overwatch League” in the main menu of Overwatch, under which all skins can be purchased. But what are the new League Skins about and what do they cost? We reveal all the details in this article.
What are the Overwatch League Skins?
Blizzard is hosting its own eSports tournament with the Overwatch League and has spared no expense or effort to make the event as glamorous as possible. This also means that all 12 participating teams receive complete color schemes for all characters – that is, 26 skins in the team’s colors, sometimes even adorned with the team’s logos.
How do you get Overwatch League Skins? What do they cost? What are League Tokens?
The Overwatch League Skins are not available in loot boxes. They can be purchased individually for 100 League Tokens in the game.
- The League Tokens can only be purchased for real money as a new premium currency in Overwatch.
- 100 Tokens cost 5€ (= 1 Skin)
- 2,600 Tokens (= 26 Skins, or all skins of a team) are available at a reduced price of 100€.
- Players receive 100 League Tokens for free once when they log into Overwatch before February 13. This allows a desired skin to be purchased for free.
- If someone wants to own all the Skins of the Overwatch League, they will need 31,200 League Tokens – or 1,200€!
When purchasing skins through League Tokens, a portion of the profit is paid out to the teams whose skins you purchase. So if you want to support your favorite team, you can consider buying one or another skin.
