The Gamescom presents the new map of Overwatch – on top of that, there is a crazy cinematic in Junkertown!
In preparation for Gamescom 2017, Blizzard has already presented a small preview intended to set the stage for the highlights of the gaming fair. For Overwatch, the Junkertown speculations of the last few weeks have come true – there is a new map.
Junkertown is the home of Junkrat and Roadhog and the main base of the Junkers – a large gang of scavengers who make a living from the remnants of a failed civilization.
Junkertown is the new Overwatch map
To promote the map a little better, Blizzard even created its own Machinima – a small video in game graphics. Accordingly, Junkrat and Roadhog have been banished from Junkertown and put out on the streets. As revenge, the two are now devising a brilliant plan to take their revenge on the Junkers.
As is fitting for Junkrat, the plan includes a big bomb that must be brought deep into the Junkers’ home. Roadhog seems to be the brain of the duo and has to approve all plans first – because Junkrat’s ideas are not very well thought out.
Junkertown is an escort map. There will be a payload that must be escorted from the start of the map to the heart of Junkertown’s base.
By the way, the video shown is not the new “Animated Short” – that will only be presented in the coming days at Gamescom. The video above is simply meant to show the story of the new map – Junkrat’s big plan.
How do you like this type of cinematic? Funny and interesting or too silly? Should Blizzard just stick to the Animated Shorts?
Another map has been designed by a fan – it looks just as good as Junkertown. The Favela!
