The closed beta of Overwatch, Blizzard’s latest game, is set for October 27.
On October 27, just a few days before Blizzcon, the first shooter that Blizzard has ever made will enter a closed beta.
The start of the beta will be small, with relatively few players, and it will gradually expand. It is intended to be more of an “old school” beta focused on finding bugs and issues.
The beta will launch with both a spectator mode and a built-in voice chat. These are also firsts for Blizzard. With 18 heroes and 7 maps, it will offer a lot of gameplay content.
A small downside: The beta begins in North and South America and will arrive in Europe later. In addition to this “closed beta phase,” there will also be “open beta weekends” offered, which will allow many more players access to test server stability.
The lucky players who gain access to the beta events will be recruited from the Battle.net accounts that have signed up for it.
