Blizzard is giving away plenty of free loot to Overwatch and HotS fans. The Nexus Challenge 2.0 offers skins in both games! Including Officer D.Va and Oni-Genji.
Blizzard is known for frequently launching cross-promotions that link several of the developer’s games together. With the launch of Heroes of the Storm 2.0 comes a new event that players of both HotS and the hero shooter Overwatch should take a look at. Once again, there are exclusive skins to be earned – in both games – if you spend some matches in the MOBA with friends.
The event lasts for a total of 4 weeks and will be handled through the quest system of Heroes of the Storm. Every week there will be a new mission with fresh rewards.
Each week a new quest in Heroes of the Storm
- Week 1: Play 5 matches with at least one friend (VS. AI, Quick Match, Unranked or Ranked)
- Reward in Overwatch: Oni-Genji skin, Oni icon, and Oni spray
- Reward in HotS: Orochi portrait, Orochi banner, Orochi spray, and Orochi hovercycle (mount)
- Week 2: Play 5 matches with a friend (Quick Match, Unranked or Ranked)
- Reward in Overwatch: Officer D.Va skin
- Reward in HotS: Busan Police Hovercycle (mount)
- Week 3: Play 5 matches with a friend (Quick Match, Unranked or Ranked)
- Reward in Overwatch: Officer D.Va icon and spray
- Reward in HotS: Officer D.Va portrait, banner, spray, and Overwatch Nexagon (mount)
- Week 4: Play 5 matches with a friend (Quick Match, Unranked or Ranked)
- Reward in Overwatch: 10 loot boxes
- Reward in HotS: 10 loot boxes
Each week, a new quest is unlocked, but only if the previous quest has already been completed. Those who wish can complete all 4 quests in the last week – however, they will then need to complete 20 matches.
How to get the skins Oni-Genji and Officer D.Va in Overwatch
This week, there’s already the Overwatch skin “Oni Genji”; for the coveted skin Officer D.Va, players must complete 5 more matches next week if they have already obtained Oni-Genji this week. Or 10 victories with a friend, if they only start next week.
The rewards are also available for Overwatch on PS4 and Xbox One. To do this, you need to link your game accounts in the account management. (Log in to the Blizzard website and visit Account Management -> Security -> Linked Accounts.)
The Nexus Challenge ends on May 22, 2017 – after that, the rewards will no longer be available for a while.
