Overwatch Destroys Competition Across the Genre
After Battleborn was also mocked by the “Honest Trailer” in recent weeks, now Overwatch by Blizzard has also been hit.
Even though the video should be taken with a grain of salt, some criticisms are indeed justified and sharply formulated. Because who doesn’t know the frustration when a Bastion gets the “Play of the Game” again or watching a Torbjörn just repair his turret? The great success of Overwatch could, as mentioned in the video, even turn out to be negative in the long run. “The gameplay is so good that it could destroy competition across the entire genre” – simply put: Is there still room for other shooters alongside Overwatch?
A little jab at Battleborn is also included – for with the release of Overwatch, most have, at least according to Smosh Games, already forgotten “the other” hero shooter.
