A bug in Overwatch allows Junkrat to kill any character instantly – at least at a very specific spot.
In Overwatch, players often find small glitches or strange behaviors of various abilities that lead to unintended effects. On the Volskaya map, a clever Junkrat fan has discovered how to kill rushing players in the blink of an eye. They just need to participate.
How does the bug work? On the Volskaya Industries map, on the way from the attackers to the first control point, players must pass through the ever-popular gate. There is a small “groove” in the game world, right under the gate. Junkrat can fire his grenades into this groove. They do not explode immediately and do not bounce further. The grenades remain in place for a while before dissolving on their own or being touched by an enemy player. Then, however, they explode all at once, causing up to 1,800 damage points, which instantly kills any character in Overwatch.
Exploiting the bug is not recommended. Players should not exploit this bug, as it could be considered an exploit by Blizzard and could lead to an account penalty in the worst case.
At least in some matches among friends, it might cause confusion – until word gets out and everyone knows about the little bug.
It is to be expected that Blizzard will fix this issue in the coming weeks, just as it has always done in the past with discovered bugs.
