How nice would it be if Genji from Overwatch never had to sheathe his sword again? Well, with this bug, it’s possible.
Every Genji player looks forward to the moment when the ultimate is fully charged and the Dragonblade can be unleashed. For a few seconds, the sword swings vigorously and often completely dismantles opposing teams – especially when there’s an Ana or Mercy backing up the effort.
On Reddit, user MajorAwesome1 showed a clip where he, as Genji named Techsupport, attempts to fend off the payload on Route 66. As he draws his Dragonblade, something strange happens: it never ends. Swing after swing, he hacks away at the enemies and can hardly believe his luck, which can be heard loudly from the recording.

How was the bug triggered?
Although the exact details are unknown, timing seems to have played a big role here. Genji was stunned at just the moment he draws his blade and pulled by Roadhog, but right before his ultimate meter is depleted. Since Roadhog does not kill him, the game “glitches” and already grants him the ability of the Dragonblade. The result is that he hacks and hacks and hacks and hacks without end…
Blizzard has not commented on this bug so far, but it may also be very difficult to reproduce this error deliberately or even to exploit it effectively in a match, as too many factors have to come together.
Nonetheless, it is a bug in the game that hopefully will be fixed soon. Generally, Genji’s Dragonblade is very prone to bugs and has already received several fixes.
