A new bug in Overwatch literally turns the game upside down. Moreover, it allows all characters to fly – but it’s not for the faint of heart.
With new patches, small bugs or exploits often sneak into games. This has also happened with Overwatch. Just a few days ago, the patch for the Winter Wonderlands was applied, bringing some balancing changes and many new skins. However, a bug has slipped in that allows for some funny and absurd situations. The camera rotates into a strange position, and the player character can then fly.
What kind of bug is this? The bug primarily occurs on capture point maps. In these maps, players leave an Overwatch landing craft. When the gate drops as the match begins, Mei places an ice wall on the gate, which then gets tilted. If players climb onto this ice wall and wait for it to be destroyed, the whole screen rotates, and they are looking at the world in a “tilted” manner.
Bug makes characters fly: But that’s not all. The character is also actually put into a tilted position and stands oddly. At the same time, this tilt seems to interact with gravity. When such “tilted” characters jump, they start gliding and flying through the air over a large distance, like only Pharah and Mercy can.

Should you exploit the bug? No. Even though the bug is funny to watch and certainly provides some laughs, Blizzard has shown in the past that intentionally exploiting such bugs is not looked upon kindly. If someone repeatedly takes advantage of this bug, they could face a penalty. If you want to play around with this bug a bit, it would be wise to set up a private match and not use it in “proper” games.
Exploiting the bug could lead to account penalties. Blizzard is likely already working on a hotfix, so the bug will probably be fixed within the next few hours or days.
