Blizzard invites players one last time to the closed beta of Overwatch . We have the date and more details.
This weekend marks the start of the last Overwatch Beta weekend
The development of Overwatch is nearing completion, as it will only be a few weeks until Blizzard’s hero shooter is released. To put the servers through one last intensive stress test, Blizzard invites a large number of players one last time before the shooter leaves the closed beta.
By the evening of Thursday, April 14, 2016, all accounts that were chosen for the beta should have been “flagged.” You can check this in several ways. Either you visit the account management of Battle.net or simply check the Battle.net launcher, as there should be an “Install” button available for “Overwatch” as soon as you are selected. Alternatively, emails will be sent to all participants, but these may sometimes “arrive delayed”, which is why checking the launcher provides quicker certainty.
From Friday evening until Saturday night (April 15 and 16), all testers can then try most of Overwatch’s game content. All 21 heroes are available, as well as all maps and the progression system. However, one will have to forgo ranked mode and the weekly “Brawls.”
This time, “more players than ever before” are to be invited to the beta. Who hasn’t had the chance yet could finally get to enjoy the game now!
Blizzard especially seeks feedback regarding the servers, as they want to push the technology “to its limits” to see how much the servers can take and at what load they will crash. At the same time, they want to know how smoothly the game runs for individual players. To this end, all beta participants will also have access to the relevant forums for the duration of the weekend.
