Just a few minutes ago, the beta of Overwatch started. A little patience can’t hurt…
Access is being sent out in waves
Just a few minutes ago, the beta version of Overwatch went live in Europe and America. Since the access is being distributed in waves, it might take a while until all selected players receive their access to the game – there can be delays of up to 12 hours according to Blizzard. A look into the account management on the battle.net site can already provide information on whether you were selected for the beta, as an “Overwatch Beta” license will appear in your collection.
Jeff Kaplan, one of the leading minds behind Overwatch, has released a short introductory video to reveal the intentions of the developers:
If you haven’t received an invitation yet, there’s no need to despair. Blizzard will invite more players in the future and also hold special beta weekends where many players will be invited. A little patience could pay off.
Keep in mind: There are no keys for Overwatch. Anyone offering such things means you harm. Accounts are activated by Blizzard for the Overwatch beta.
The “Prometheus” method to download the client early is approved by Blizzard and can be used. We should hear a lot more about Overwatch in the next few weeks – there is no NDA for the beta.
