The exact time for the start of the “Overwatch Anniversary Event” has been announced. And this time, Germany is to blame.
The hero shooter Overwatch celebrates its first anniversary since release and comes with its own event. Until now, fans only knew that the event would start “sometime” on May 23rd. But now, the German PlayStation Store has published the exact date for it when they created an event for it.
The Overwatch anniversary event starts on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 5:00 PM.
In addition to a lot of new skins, there will also be a new type of emotes – dances! Lúcio, Sombra, Symmetra, and Zenyatta have already shown off their dance moves in a teaser, creating excitement for more dance performances from the other heroes.
Overwatch Anniversary Event starts in the afternoon
Aside from that, there will also be an “Arena” game mode, of which not much has been revealed about the exact game objective. However, there may be players who can earn the title “Gladiator” – could a “Deathmatch” be within the realm of possibility? Or is Blizzard even planning a small arena system in the style of World of Warcraft – with certain power-ups? After all, there are different voice lines that hint at usable items.
An end for the anniversary event has also been announced. On June 13, 2017, at 9:00 AM it should come to a close. Players should have sufficiently stocked up on the special loot boxes by then, which will almost certainly be available for the celebrations.
