The Overwatch Anniversary Event has an official start date! Along with the announcement, Blizzard also revealed what features the event will offer to players.
The Overwatch Anniversary Event starts on May 22. This was tweeted by the official Overwatch Twitter account. Along with the date, Blizzard released a short clip, which has already been leaked by the Brazilian account.

8 new legendary and 3 epic skins. Blizzard confirmed in the official press release for the event that there will be new skins. 8 new legendary and 3 new epic skins will be coming. So far, only Junkrat’s pirate skin is known.
New dance emotes for Doomfist, Brigitte, and Moira. Last year’s Anniversary Event already featured dances for all characters. This year, the three newcomers Moira, Doomfist, and Brigitte will also receive a dance emote.
Skins and brawls from past events. For the Anniversary Event 2018, there is a chance to earn all cosmetic items from all previously released seasonal events. The brawls will also return: In a daily changing special in the Arcade, the old event brawls can be played.
Legendary loot boxes. New to the event are legendary loot boxes in Overwatch. These contain at least one item of legendary quality. Just log in during the event and you will receive a free box. When you buy 50 boxes at once, one of the loot boxes is also legendary.
Free weekend and “Legendary Edition.” From May 25 to May 28, new players can try Overwatch for free. Those who wish to purchase the game can buy the “Legendary Edition” starting May 22. This is available only digitally and includes the base game and 15 different skins.
New Deathmatch map Petra with ranked mode
Overwatch will feature a new Deathmatch map for the Anniversary Event: Petra. Petra can be played via the Arcade, similar to Lúcioball and Ranked Lúcioball during the Summer Games.
The map will have a complete ranked mode with placement matches, skill ratings, and leaderboards. It is separate from the regular ranked season and only applies to Deathmatch.
