Many aspects of Overwatch have been expanded or renewed over the year. But there are still many months ahead of us. What can we expect in Overwatch in 2018?
Blizzard is keeping it under wraps: What plans Blizzard has specifically for 2018 is largely unclear. There is no official roadmap for Overwatch covering the second half of the year – however, we do have some information for you.

This happened in 2018 so far
We have already received numerous new heroes, maps, and improvements in Overwatch this year:
- Brigitte and Wrecking Ball joined the roster
- Some new maps for various game modes, such as Rialto
- a revamp of the social system with player search and more
- A huge eSports spectacle: The Overwatch League
In addition, we have already enjoyed some events, such as this year’s anniversary event, where game modes and skins from all other events were available. But there are still some things we know about for the rest of the year.

What else is coming in Overwatch in 2018?
The Summer Games: The next event on the agenda for Overwatch will be the Summer Games 2018. In previous years, the event always started in the first week of August – so we also expect a similar date this year.
The Summer Games were the first event ever held in Overwatch. In 2018, the Summer Games will be the first event to take place for the third time. What exactly Blizzard has planned for this is still not clear.

New Hero Reworks: At the beginning of the year, Blizzard announced that many heroes would receive an overhaul. These include:
Shortly after the last rework, there were also new hints of a rework for Torbjörn. In this, the Swedish engineer is expected to receive an overhaul of his turrets and his ultimate. An exact date is still pending, but we expect it to be in the fall of 2018.

BlizzCon – maybe with Hero 29: In November, the BlizzCon 2018 is already coming up. Traditionally, there are also big announcements for Overwatch at Blizzard’s own convention. Therefore, it is quite possible that the next hero 29 will be announced or at least teased.
Additionally, it is likely that a new map will be introduced, if not new maps are already released by the time of BlizzCon. BlizzCon 2018 begins on November 2.

Halloween Terror and Winter Wonderland: The Halloween and Christmas events are still upcoming. Last year, the Halloween event ended shortly before BlizzCon – it is likely that you will also be able to snag spooky new skins around this time this year and perhaps face Junkenstein again.
The Winter Wonderland is traditionally the last event of the year and starts in the first half of December. The event has been accompanied by story-rich comics in recent years that we might also expect this year alongside skins.

Will there be more info soon? Quite possible. After the Overwatch League ended on July 28, and London Spitfire won the final, Blizzard may be able to focus more on other aspects of the game again.
