Instead of stuffing himself with frustration chocolate, a player of Overwatch 2 lost an impressive 35 kg while gaming. Losing can even be fun.
Those who play video games all day will get fat. This is an old saying, and sometimes it holds a kernel of truth. However, a player from Overwatch 2 has achieved the exact opposite and transformed his daily Overwatch matches into a personal workout – losing about 30 kg in the process.
The current season of Overwatch 2:
How did he do it? The player soggingbread played Overwatch 2 on the Switch. However, he didn’t sit lazily on the couch or in a chair like most of us; instead, he was running on a treadmill. During a match, he maintained a pace of 6.4 km/h, and while waiting for a match, he increased the pace to 9 km/h.
In the process, soggingbread not only lost many games but also a lot of pounds. He lost a total of 35 kg over the course of a year – from 125 kg (250 pounds) to just over 90 kg (180 pounds).
What were the problems? The biggest difficulties probably lay in aiming with the Joy-Con and the fact that the Switch only supports 30 fps. However, “the whole workout goes by so quickly when the mind is occupied and ultimately you look forward to it.”
Anyone thinking, “I don’t want him on my team, he can’t perform,” is seriously mistaken. Recently, soggingbread reached the rank of Platinum, which puts him well above the average for most players. He started in the low Silver tier but worked his way up while the pounds came off.
Here’s how the community reacted: In the Overwatch 2 subreddit, soggingbread is congratulated on this impressive achievement. However, there are also a few amused comments, such as from prieston:
“I can’t help but say this:
Literally a sweating Platinum player.”
Otherwise, there is only positive feedback for this achievement. Maybe this will inspire some of you to get a little physical during gaming or between matches. Other players on consoles were recently banned – including the “best players in the world.”
