On the larger streaming platforms, One Piece is currently only available with German subtitles. However, a German dubbing is expected to come to Netflix soon – and it is quite special.
What kind of dubbing is this? As ninotakutv reveals exclusively on his YouTube channel, the anime of One Piece will soon be released on Netflix with a completely new dubbing. Not only that, the episodes are also supposed to be released in a better resolution than HD.
The content creator claims to have been involved in the new version himself. How and in what role, he wants to reveal at another time.
There are no new voices for the re-dubbing, at least not for the Straw Hat Pirates. The regular voice actors known from the original version are back on board – for example, you will hear Daniel Schlauch again as Monkey D. Luffy.
For the other characters, however, there may be a new voice heard from time to time. After all, the series has been dubbed in German for over 20 years, and during this time it happens that voice actors are no longer available.

What makes the new dubbing different? Besides the new voice actors, mistakes in the original dubbing are supposed to be “ironed out”, pronunciations changed and some terms replaced. Furthermore, it is a requirement from Japan that it stays more true to the original – which is why there will be renamings of characters.

Where and when can I watch the episodes? It starts on November 15, 2025, on Netflix. Then the first 16 episodes are supposed to be available as HD remasters. More episodes will be released over time. The goal is to completely re-dub the anime.
