At the One Piece Day, there were some new announcements that delighted the fans. One of them is a new Anime focused solely on the heroines of the manga. MeinMMO editor Jasmin Beverungen is particularly looking forward to a story.
In all the years One Piece has been around, countless characters have joined Luffy’s adventures. Therefore, it is not surprising that some characters are hardly seen. One of them is my favorite character Perona, who has only played a role in the Thriller Bark arc and shortly before the Straw Hats’ reunion.
I like the pirate so much that I even named my gamer name after her and only changed the first letter.
But now there is finally a way to see more of the ghost princess. The creators behind One Piece have announced a new anime focused on the heroines of the series.
New Anime with Nami, Nico Robin, and Perona from One Piece
The new anime is titled One Piece Heroines and shows stories about female characters from the manga. On the title cover of the announcement, Nami and Nico Robin from the Straw Hat crew can already be seen. However, they are illustrated in a completely different art style and do not look like in the anime. The look of the upcoming series will feature much softer lines and shapes.

The new anime is based on the novel of the same name. It features original stories about the characters that have nothing to do with the main story of One Piece. It is a spin-off.
Currently, there are two volumes of the novel. The first volume consists of eight chapters, each dedicated to a different woman from One Piece. In addition to Nami and Robin, princess Vivi and Boa Hancock also appear. Even Uta from the film One Piece Film Red is included.
However, it is still unclear which chapters will also be featured in the anime. The creators have so far kept quiet about this. The release date and the contributors have not been officially announced yet.
I really hope that the story with Perona will also appear in the anime. I own both volumes of the novel and was excited that she is included with her own story.
Her chapter takes place at the time when Zoro lands on her island and is trained by the swordsman Mihawk. The two find a barrel of red wine, and Perona complains that her cocoa would have been better. How can you not love her?
Her chapter also shows that Mihawk has a caring side. However, I don’t want to spoil too much at this point. I just hope that it makes it as an episode in the anime.
