The manufacturer TCL has introduced a huge television with 115 inches at CES 2024 with the 115QM89. With this, they aim to be competitive against the other major manufacturers.
Many users likely know TCL more as a good budget alternative to well-known brands. TCL mainly appears in many buying guides around televisions in the affordable range.
However, with the 115QM89, TCL is taking a different approach and presenting a gigantic, premium television with Mini-LED and Quantum-Dot technology at the CES 2024. According to TCL, it is supposed to be the largest television with Mini-LED so far.

What kind of television is this? The television is a branch of TCL’s broader QM8 line, which includes premium televisions ranging from 65 to 98 inches.
The new device with 115 inches takes on some functions from the earlier QM8 televisions from TCL but additionally offers a 6.2.2-channel speaker system, enabling a surround sound-like home theater experience.
The gigantic television utilizes the TCL AIPQ ULTRA processor, allowing for higher picture quality and sharper images than any previous TCL televisions. Thanks to this processor, they aim to compete with Samsung, LG, and Sony and provide a suitable premium product. According to various reports, it has long been the intention of TCL’s CEO, Li Dongsheng, to transform his company into a “Chinese Sony or Samsung.” TCL has been one of the fastest-growing corporations in the world for years, currently employing over 50,000 people.
It is also noteworthy that the 115QM89 features over 20,000 dimming zones. This is particularly important for very large screens to accurately represent light and shadow. The fewer the number of dimming zones, the less precise the representation of the TV becomes. With many zones, movies or series appear significantly more vibrant and lively than on a “normal” display.
When will the model be released and what will it cost? TCL has remained silent on the price and the release date so far. However, the new gigantic television is likely not going to be cheap.
However, it is unlikely to be as expensive as a gigantic model from LG. After all, LG charges more than 1 million euros for its TV with 325 inches.
