In Call of Duty: Warzone, you can employ various tactics that ultimately lead to victory. However, not all of them result in many kills. A pro team offers some tips on which strategies can help you rack up a ton of kills.
What kind of team is this? The CoD players Lymax, Mika, and Zepa are regarded as one of the most talented Australian squads in Call of Duty: Warzone. They recently revealed in an interview with the American gaming news site “Dexerto“, which tactics they used to finish matches with extremely high kill counts.
In a Twitter post, Lymax published their almost 20-minute round in which they collectively racked up 78 kills:
While they don’t hold the world record with this, you can find, for example, a video with 82 kills on YouTube, but the numbers are already impressive.
Pro Tips for More Kills – But You Have to Be Good
What do the pros recommend? Some of these tips may sound crazy to average players, as they partially contradict what is typically popular in Battle Royales. However, high-kill games also require taking risks:
- Team splits up at the start
- Quick kills and straight to personal loadout
- Loadouts with high speed
- Seek combat
- Push together in the endgame
The team’s entire tactic is geared towards high kills, and the soldiers are constantly looking for new victims and pushing hard. Here are the points with explanations:
Everyone Gets Their Own Landing Zone
The team splits up immediately at the start and flies to different landing spots. This way, they have the opportunity to collect a lot of kills right from the start, as they fly to zones where many players usually land:
- Always Atlas Superstore
- Always Zhokov Boneyard
- TV Station or Storage Town
Zepa said: “Regardless of the zone or [the route] of the plane, these are the three spots where we always land. […] Most of the time, you won’t see your teammates until the end of the match.”
Superstore and Boneyard are set for the three players. Depending on the position of the circle, one player then heads to the TV Station, which is more centrally located, or to the “Storage Town”, which is located west of the Superstore. There are, however, other really strong landing spots that you could try out.

Action from the First Second – For Kills and Loadout
Land quickly, look around, grab a weapon, and clear your entire landing zone. The team recommends starting full throttle. Before you land in the Gulag for the first time, you should already rack up as many kills as possible. If you all go down right at the start, end the match and try again. For a high-kill match, getting kills at the start is essential. Most of the time, many players meet here.
A successful start not only brings you a bunch of cash but also a good feeling for the rest of the round. Zepa says:
Depending on how much money I have, I try to buy my loadout. […] I try to get the weapons I like. If I have money left over, I try to get a recon drone to see enemies on the map. If I have something left, the next is self-revive.

Personal Loadouts with High Speed
The team also takes a different approach with loadouts. Instead of relying on sniper rifles, shotguns, or rocket launchers to have the perfect answer for every situation, the three play with the all-round weapon M4A1 and the strong MP5. These two weapons aren’t even among the best weapons in Warzone, but they offer a lot of flexibility.
In order to endure longer firefights and play aggressively, they need two weapons that they can switch between quickly and that are similarly strong at short range. For longer distances, they then use the M4.
Perks are similar. For many players, the best perks in Warzone are skills that protect against detection. “Ghost” is highly popular, or “Cold-Blooded”. However, this team prefers perks that provide an advantage in direct duels with the enemy or when fleeing from gas:
- Speed: Extends tactical sprint and makes it available more quickly.
- Overkill: You can bring two of your favorite weapons into the Warzone.
- Eager: Faster weapon switching.
With “Speed”, you can outplay teams better. Due to the extra speed, you can get around saving corners faster or better flank other teams. “Overkill” gives you the option to choose a second primary weapon with the best attachments. With “Eager”, you switch to your secondary weapon faster, which can be invaluable in close-quarter battles.
Engage in Every Fight
The team’s most important tip: Engage in every fight! With your CQC loadouts, you are always ready to take out an incoming enemy. Play fast, look for popping enemies on the map, and get involved in the fights of others. Zepa says:
You just have to take risks all the time. If you die, you die. If you take someone down, it was worth it. If you die, you can be bought back or you just start a new game. High risk – high reward.
The team does not recommend activating contracts, as it takes too much time. Mika says: “All your cash should come from kills. Contracts just take time away from getting more kills.” Although you can even see through a contract how the playing field develops, the team stays away from contracts.
Push Together as a Team for Victory in the Endgame
When the circle begins to close, the gameplay slows down a bit. Zepa says: “In the endgame, many people camp. So if you want to clear buildings, do it as a team, not alone.” If the circle is already relatively small, regroup as a team and push the campers out of their hiding spots.
To gain an advantage over other teams, Mika recommends that you become particularly familiar with the unique and good movement of CoD:
Learning the movement of CoD helps a lot. […] There are a few ways to outplay opponents. You can “Bunny Hop”, “Slide-Cancel” around corners. Learning such tricks is essential because you can land the first shots on the enemy this way. If you want many kills, always stay in motion and utilize the full Modern Warfare movement.
As a final tip, Lymax offers the following advice:
The ability to take out teams in a 1vs3 situation is crucial. You must know how to outplay entire teams by yourself… Always push, but also work smart with the map. If you just walk down the middle of the street, you shouldn’t expect to take out a whole team. You should always stay in cover while pushing.
With these tips, you’ll surely get a few more kills in Warzone, but you also have to be quite skilled and composed to take out entire teams alone. However, if you really want to chase records, consider a few suggestions from the pro team.
