One of the most popular and best cards of Hearthstone has been given away for free by the developers. This mech is currently dominating.
From time to time, Blizzard gives players of Hearthstone small rewards. These can be card packs or special cards, like recently SCHN1PP-SCHN4PP, a quite strong mech. It was given away during the event “Revenge of the Mechs” and is still available today, when logging in.
The special thing about SCHN1PP-SCHN4PP: The card is so good that it currently ranks among the most popular neutral cards and appears in numerous decks.
High popularity among players: If you look at the current statistics of SCHN1PP-SCHN4PP, it is played in 27.1% of all decks – that is, in a little more than every fourth deck. For a neutral card, that is quite common, placing the mech in second place for overall popularity.
The reason for this is obvious, as SCHN1PP-SCHN4PP is extremely strong. For just 3 mana, you get a minion with 2/3 and can summon two other mechs with 1/1. That alone represents a pure “value” of 4/5 for 3 mana and is nearly unmatched.
But it gets even better: Additionally, the mech has magnetic, allowing it to connect with other mechs and strengthen them.
And because that is still not enough, SCHN1PP-SCHN4PP can also be summoned multiple times with Echo – normally 3 times per turn, but if you manage to reduce its cost, even more often. Since the death rattle effects are stackable, even after losing the board, you still have many small mechs.
However, SCHN1PP-SCHN4PP is not only popular but also a guarantee of winning. With a win rate of 55.6% among all decks that include this mech, it ranks extremely high. It is quite conceivable that Blizzard will make adjustments here.
Zilliax tops it all: However, the popularity of SCHN1PP-SCHN4PP pales in comparison to another card – Zilliax. The mech from the last expansion is the jack of all trades, seen in almost every encounter.
The mech is present in nearly 63% of all decks, which is not surprising. After all, Zilliax is not just a tank with divine shield, but also has Rush and Lifesteal. This means Zilliax can protect the hero from fatal damage in one turn while helping stabilize him by restoring a few hit points through Lifesteal.
If the opponent does not have a good answer, they must let another minion run into Zilliax, which triggers Lifesteal again. The effect is compounded when Zilliax is docked to another mech thanks to “Magnetic”.
Currently, the two mechs rank among the most popular cards in Hearthstone for good reason. In any case, it is nice that Blizzard with SCHN1PP-SCHN4PP did not give away a “garbage card”, but one that is truly good and meaningful.
This is also one of the reasons why Hearthstone has solved its biggest problems with the “Whispers of the Old Gods” expansion.
