The absolute role model for streamer NoWay
Which streamer is it? For many streamers and viewers, Erik “Gronkh” Range, who is often affectionately called “Papa Gronkh,” is a great source of inspiration. Numerous posts on social networks tell how Gronkh has supported people through tough times and particularly influenced them in their childhood and youth.
But even NoWay, one of the biggest streamers in Germany, calls Gronkh his idol. “He is my absolute role model,” he said recently in one of his streams while talking about Gronkh.
What does NoWay say about Gronkh? In one of his recent streams, NoWay talks about the significance of Gronkh in his life and smiles while watching a clip of Gronkh. “You can’t imagine how this man has carried my studies,” explains NoWay laughing. He describes Gronkh as the “always kind guy” and emphasizes how much he owes him.
However, their first meeting did not go smoothly
How did their first meeting go? As NoWay reports, the first meeting took place at TwitchCon in San Francisco. This was in 2015 when the streamer himself was attracting between 1,000 and 1,500 viewers on Twitch (via SullyGnome). The encounter with his great role model was still particularly nerve-wracking for him.
NoWay remembers how nervous he was: He was sweating heavily and, out of sheer overwhelm, even addressed Gronkh in English: “This is my absolute role model, this man. I spoke to him in English because I was so nervous.” Despite this embarrassing moment, NoWay continues to admire Gronkh deeply, adding: “What a living legend he is, it’s incredible.”
How does the community react? The community reacts enthusiastically to NoWay’s words about Gronkh. In the comments of his streams, viewers celebrate the recognition for the “rock” of the German gaming scene. Many share similar experiences and report how Gronkh has helped them through tough times.
- RicoGnized writes: “What is based. Erik has probably shaped an entire generation of content creators.”
- IIShana writes: “I swear, if anything comes out about Erik, I will lose faith in humanity. I started watching him at 14, now I’m 27.”
- BigBoyDomme writes: “He is beaming with joy. But that is understandable… Gronkh has shaped YouTube Germany and thus many people’s childhood.”
- Patty writes: “Gronkh, you have fans even in the highest circles of Twitch Germany.”
