Nintendo has introduced the new Nintendo Switch Lite. This console is a pure handheld and is ideal for on the go. But what can it do?
What is the Switch Lite? The new console from Nintendo is supposed to be the smaller version of the classic Nintendo Switch. The console is not compatible with the TV but returns to the handheld days when the Gameboy or Nintendo DS were popular.
When is the Switch Lite coming out? The variant will hit the market this year. The console will be released on September 20.
Who should buy the Switch Lite?
Who should be interested? The Switch Lite is primarily for players who want to play on the go. You can also play here with friends, but only with people who own a console themselves. Only one player can play at a time per Switch Lite.
What are the advantages of the Switch Lite? The console is noticeably smaller than the normal Switch and is therefore especially suitable for on the go. It also weighs a bit less, making it less heavy in hand over time.
Although the Switch Lite is smaller, the battery life is the same. You can play with the new console for up to 6 hours continuously. The regular Switch lasts just as long.
Can you also play online? You can also play online normally with the Switch Lite. You only need a membership for Nintendo Switch Online.
Up to 8 players can also play together offline. You just need a Switch Lite for each player.
Can you play every Switch game with it? As long as the Switch game supports handheld mode, you can play it on the Switch Lite. You can find this indicated on the game’s packaging. The handheld mode is marked there.
Classics like Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros. can definitely be played on the Lite.
For whom is the Switch Lite not worth it? Especially for players who like to play on the TV. Game nights with friends could become problematic with the Switch Lite, as each friend needs a console.
If you don’t spend much time on the go and don’t play Nintendo Switch there, you should stick with the regular Switch.
What do you think of the new Switch? Will you get it?
