The first MOBA for the Switch comes from Tencent and is called Arena of Valor. You won’t miss out on familiar features. The game became known after the Chinese government had to intervene because kids in China became addicted to it.
In August, the mobile MOBA “Arena of Valor” launched in Europe. On your smartphones and tablets, you can play 1v1, 3v3, and 5v5 against other players. You have a large selection of different heroes from tanks to supporters.
Now the release on the next platform, the Nintendo Switch, is imminent.
Arena of Valor for Nintendo Switch
In winter 2017, the beta test version of Arena of Valor is expected to be available for free. There is no exact date for this yet. For MOBA fans, this might be the chance to try an addition to the PC experience.
You won’t miss the classic role distribution of a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) in Arena of Valor, as there are tanks, assassins, mages, marksmen, and supporters available. Currently, there are over 45 different heroes in the game – even Batman is included!
Fight alone or team up with friends against other players in real-time battles.
- As game modes, you can choose the classic 5v5 mode that you already know from other MOBAs. There you split into the top, mid, and bot lanes and optionally go into the jungle. A game usually lasts 12-18 minutes.
- If you are looking for a faster match, choose the 3v3 mode. Here, all six players meet on one lane and hit each other. Usually, the winner is determined after 4-6 minutes.
- Do you want to measure your skills directly against other players? Then go for 1v1! Here, you can showcase your personal MOBA strength without being boosted by a team that can compensate for any mistakes.
- In the “Hook War” mode, you will learn about another fun aspect of AOV, where you must pull opponents into ruin.
Extremely Successful Under Another Name in China
Arena of Valor is the unofficial “Mobile” version of LoL. In China, the title made the youth of the country go crazy under the name “Kings of Glory”, leading the government to take measures to restrict playtime. The hype in China has gone so far that parents have even named their child after the game.
