Nintendo fans are discussing wild rumors about the release on Reddit and speculating about what the Japanese company will reveal. As a comparison, they are taking the Nintendo Direct of the Switch 1 and counting the following points that were included in the reveal back then:
- Overview of hardware
- Information on the console’s release with price
- Announcement of Switch Online (back then, probably not relevant today)
- Presentation of the controllers
- Reveal of various Nintendo games, including Mario Odyssey, Arms, and Splatoon 2
- Reveal of various third-party titles such as Dragon Quest X and Skyrim
The Nintendo Direct is expected to last 60 minutes, so there’s enough time to announce strong titles for the launch of the console in addition to the console itself.
11:41 AM
A small detail was discovered on the German Nintendo site, which indicates that the new Tomodachi Life may only be sold as a digital version (via nintendo.com).
Whether Nintendo will change the part on the product page or not is still unclear. New games that have not been released yet are being promoted with both a physical and a digital version.
11:07 AM
Nintendo applied for a renewal of the US trademark “Nintendogs” on February 7, 2025 (via reddit.com). This may not mean anything and may have only been requested to maintain trademark rights. However, it could also indicate a new title for the Switch 2. More will likely be known about this sometime in 2025.
10:04 AM
The mystery surrounding the enigmatic “C” button may have been solved. According to a Mexican advertisement from the company “Best Buy”, the button is referred to as “Cursor”. Whether this actually refers to a cursor is still unknown. The leak has been deleted on Reddit, but a screenshot of the advertisement still exists on imgur.

Good day! We are starting the ticker a day before the Nintendo Direct, so we can summarize the most important leaks and background information regarding the Switch 2 and possible game titles for you. The start time and the place where you can watch will be linked below in our post.
When does the Nintendo Direct start? The Nintendo Switch 2 is to be presented in the Nintendo Direct, revealing new information regarding the Nintendo Switch 2. The event takes place on April 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM German time. Nothing more has been officially announced about the event, but it is quite possible that the price and upcoming games for the console will also be presented.
Where can I watch? You will be able to see the video of the Nintendo Direct on the official YouTube channel of Nintendo. Here’s the link to the channel: Nintendo DE on YouTube.
A reveal would be nothing without some leaks to see before the start. If you’d rather wait for the official announcement, feel free to bookmark our page and return later or tomorrow morning. We will then pack the most important information, news, and reveals into our ticker, so you don’t have to see everything from the Direct – but now let’s get to the leaks.
All known leaks about the Switch 2 and the games at a glance
Are there any leaks yet? There are many leaks concerning the mysterious “C” button of the Switch. It has been often portrayed by Nintendo, yet its use remains a mystery to fans. Leakers are now sharing their theories, which are as follows:
- The button is said to be known under the codename “Campus” and provide network features. What exactly this means is unknown. It could relate to voice chat and other social functions (Source: famiboards.com)
- The button stands for “Connect”. One can connect their Nintendo Switch 1 with the new console generation and use it as a second screen (Source: youtube.com)
Both rumors are realistic, but we cannot say for certain whether either is correct.
As for the games, the situation looks rather poor. Mostly, classic titles are possible such as a new Mario, but there’s no reliable sources predicting any titles yet. So we must wait until just before the Direct for this information.
