New World has finally launched and comes with a download and patch notes for the release. Since around 7:56 AM, the first players can frolic in the new MMO. We summarize the changes for you on MeinMMO.
What are the most important changes? The new update on September 28 for the release of New World is not particularly large, but has made some important and interesting changes:
- The bosses Master Henry, Geist Maliko, and Pastor Walsh – all of whom are needed for quests – respawn almost immediately after their death. This aims to prevent waiting times.
- The scaling in open-world PvP has been adjusted so that the difference between high-level and low-level players is not so pronounced. This was heavily criticized in the open beta.
- A new “Streamer Mode” has been introduced, allowing notifications and player requests to be permanently hidden.
- Inactive company leaders will now be automatically replaced if they have not been online for 15 days.
What problematic bugs have been fixed?
- Bugs related to duplicating items have been fixed.
- The trick for quick leveling through PvP has been fixed, so players now give less XP if they have already been killed.
- A protection against speed hacks has been implemented.
- A bug that allowed players to take PvP missions without being marked for PvP has also been fixed.
- Some bugs in various quests have been fixed.
Is there new content? No, the patch notes focus mainly on bug fixes and minor improvements. The content of the game is identical to the last open beta.

- Fixed a bug that prevented players from progressing in the task “Creeping Corruption” by completing certain side tasks.
- Fixed a bug that caused players to lose the heart jewel needed to complete the task “The Ritual” by resetting the task.
- Updated tasks from Snoozeimedes to fix a bug where players could leave the expedition midway and hoard quest items for multiple completions of quests.
- Tasks of the main story unlocked after the expedition “The Depths” – the main story now leads players to the Broken Mountain.
- Bug fixes and optimizations for voice output and text.
Technology
- Fixed a bug in the task “Only Survivor” in Windcircle that occasionally prevented the task from updating when approaching the Guardian.
- Fixed a bug where the animations of Howe the Unfortunate were not displayed correctly.

- Fixed a bug that caused the PvP marker to remain active in safe zones when players crossed its boundary with a dodge roll.
- Fixed a problem that allowed the ice gauntlet effect “Icy Refreshment” to be activated by other abilities than “Mighty Thorn”.
- PvP damage scaling adjusted to narrow the gap between low-level and high-level players.

Important Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that allowed players to duplicate items with the item quick bar.
- Fixed a bug that made Azoth sticks of rank 4 and 5 unavailable.
- Fixed an exploit that allowed Talers to be duplicated through the war declaration mechanics.
- Fixed a bug that caused the PvP reward value of players not to reset when respawning in a campsite.
- Added the “Retreat” function in the game menu, allowing players to retreat to the watchtower at their starting beach. After binding to an inn, the retreat function returns players to that inn.
UX / UI / Social
Streamer Mode
- We have introduced a streamer mode that allows players and streamers to hide notifications and avoid interactions with other players to improve their gaming experience.
- The streamer mode can be activated as follows:
- Slash commands in chat: /busy or /dnd
- New “Social” tab in the settings menu
Optimizations and Innovations
- The number of days a governor must be absent before being automatically replaced by a consul has been reduced from 30 to 15.
- VoIP is now disabled in the first 3 hours after character creation to limit misconduct in voice chat.
- Twitch spotlight and Twitch subscriber army features activated.
Important Bug Fixes
- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to play PvP missions without the corresponding marking (by exploiting duels).
- Fixed an exploit that allowed companies to repeatedly declare war during the cooldown period for invasions (but before the scheduled invasion time) to double the Talers through “refunded” war declaration costs.
