Do you want to play in New World with your friends? Sometimes different starting areas can get in the way. We will show you how to change starting areas and level up with your friends.
What is the problem? The starting areas in New World are randomly assigned to each player after the tutorial. If you don’t stop in time, you will initially be stuck in an area finishing its quests. We will show you when and how you can change your starting area.
For this, you have two options. Once directly after the tutorial and once right after choosing a faction.
How to play with friends in the same starting area
How it works: After creating your character, you must first complete the tutorial. After that, you will be on a beach with many shipwrecks. However, there are many beaches where you can spawn randomly. Even if you and a friend created your characters at the same time, you might spawn at different beaches.
Now you can run along the beach for minutes trying to catch up with your friends. The problem, however, is the quests that are tied to your starting area. But there is a trick for that.
- As soon as you have completed the tutorial of New World and spawn on the beach, you should talk to an NPC
- Complete the first quest there where you introduce yourself and receive shoes as a reward
- But you should not accept the next quest
- Do not click on “What makes Aeternum so special?”, but choose “Leave”
Now you can simply go to other camps/towers on the beach and accept the quest there. Choose a camp where your friends are playing.
2nd option, if you have already accepted the quest
This additional chance exists: After you have chosen a faction, you must not accept the mission from the quest giver. On the map, you will see the quest markers at the faction NPCs in the settlements of other areas.
Then choose an area where you want to play together with your friends.
At the very latest, you will level up together when you search for the old man. Because then everyone follows a quest line.
Tip: Remember to join the same faction as your friends. This way you can join the war together. Still undecided on which faction you should choose?
