The developers of New World have published a list of known issues for the launch of Aeternum. It is quite long and covers various areas of the MMORPG.
Anyone who follows the MeinMMO ticker for today’s launch of New World Aeternum or has played it themselves will likely agree: the launch has gone relatively smoothly so far. Server issues have been limited, aside from an Xbox error, and thanks to the constant supply of new worlds, the queues have remained manageable.

Purchases
- The developers are currently investigating a problem that prevents some players on Xbox from buying or starting the game.
- The devs are working on a solution and will keep you updated as soon as it is available.
Server Transfer
- Some players may be temporarily locked out as they investigate a problem with latent server transfers. You may receive a message stating “Lockout to resolve an issue with a server transfer.”
- These accounts are not locked and will be unlocked soon.
Error Messages
- Players may receive an error message stating “Platform authentication failed. Please try again later. (Status -321)” when trying to connect to the game.
- Solution: A reconnect attempt should resolve this issue.
- If players receive a cross-region invite in-game, the error message “Error accepting invite” may occur, preventing them from joining the inviter’s group.
Equipment
- There is an issue with upgrading artifacts to the equipment value of 725, which is why these crafting recipes have been temporarily disabled.
- All players who crafted these upgrades while they were available will automatically be refunded their materials in the coming days.
Audio
- Players on Xbox may find that VOIP does not work unless they switch between different VOIP modes. Try switching the VOIP mode from world chat to group chat or vice versa, and then try again.
- Some players may experience a robotic sound quality when using voice chat.
- The options “Speaker” and “Microphone” under the “Social Settings” tab on PC are currently not functional.
PvP
- Not all players who participated in the war may be displayed on the scoreboard.
- Players may receive a second, non-functional chest after participating in outpost rush.
- The 3v3 scoreboard is empty at the end of matches for console players.
- Sometimes players cannot interact with the war board on the map when they are in settlements or in war fortresses or camps.
- No notification is given when an influence tower is captured. The circle still fills correctly when the tower is captured.
