What is the Hort der Gorgonen? The 10-player raid is one of the completely new contents that Amazon Games has developed specifically for New World Aeternum. You will find the entrance in the southeast from the Entermesserriff. However, you can also enter the content through the group search. The raid is divided into three chapters, each ending with a boss waiting for you.
The content is recommended for characters at level 65. As a reward, you can look forward to some of the new artifacts. In the Hort der Gorgonen, you can also obtain a new crafting material, with which you can craft equipment with an armor rating of 725. Below, you will learn how to master the challenges of the raid.

How to solve the first puzzle
To enter the first boss room, you need to activate four red spheres that are spinning in a circle in the previous area. For this, one character must stand on the platform opposite the pillar, which will activate the spheres.
Shoot the spheres when a red circle is visible around them, causing them to turn green. When all spheres are green, the door opens. However, the constantly appearing spiders complicate the procedure.
How to defeat the first boss Echidna
The most important mechanics:
- Echidna uses a ground stomp that deals area damage to all characters standing on the ground. You can reduce the damage by blocking. It’s even better to get launched into the air by the regularly appearing pillars. If you hit the highest pillars, you can even receive useful buffs.
- When obsidian crystals appear, destroy them before they can send out deadly vines. If a crystal lands on your pillar, you must leave it immediately.
- The boss summons rocks, which he then shoots through the area. You can either dodge the stones or block the impact to avoid some damage. However, avoid the boss’s rear to not get hit by its tail whip.
- At less than 50% health, the fight transitions into phase 2. Now, in addition to the previous mechanics, the boss places a glyph above a character’s head just to jump at them and deal area damage. Spread out!
- Echidna now also uses a roar that turns the pillars into deadly traps. If there are still obsidian crystals at the end of the roar, a wipe is programmed.
Tips:
- With onyx gems and a impact protection amulet, you increase your chances of survival.
- Use a ranged weapon that can break the boss’s stamina bar effectively with heavy attacks.
- Breaking the stamina bar is key in both phases of the fight. If you succeed, Echidna will fall, and you will be able to deal high damage for some time.
- As melee fighters, hit heavy attacks on the back of Echidna. As ranged fighters, get hurled onto the highest pillars to deal devastating attacks from there with damage buffs.
- Tanks should not pull the boss to the wall, as it makes it difficult for melee fighters to dodge the stones.
- Always focus on the obsidian crystals.
How to solve the second puzzle
In the next puzzle, you must activate three groups of platforms (one on the left, one in the middle, and one on the right) simultaneously in a labyrinth, which are located in different positions and guarded by spiders. The spheres above the platforms indicate the status of each platform.
- Red sphere: Spiders present and platform deactivated
- Red circled sphere: No spiders, but no one is standing on the platform yet
- Green sphere: Character is standing on the platform
It’s best to fight your way as a team to the first group of platforms, defeat the spiders there, and watch out for the dangerous medusas of the labyrinth. Once the area is cleared, leave two players behind and move to the next platform, and so forth.
How to defeat the second boss Typhon
The fight against Typhon consists of three phases, building up through increasingly new dangers. The most important mechanics:
- Avoid the thorn corridor that can appear left, middle, or right in the arena (highlighted by a slowly red tinted area).
- Two players are marked with a red symbol in phase 1. Thorn spikes will appear under them for a significant duration. Carry this effect away from the group to the edge of the area, and keep moving until the debuff expires. In phase 2, three characters are affected, and in phase 3, four characters.
- Typhon sends out vines to wrap random players in a thorn prison, dealing damage. The victims must dodge the vines. If you are caught, your team must hit you out of prison. The imprisoned can help.
- In the phases, an increasing number of adds appear, which remain in the arena for 25 seconds. After that, the boss absorbs them to buff himself. Prevent this by killing the adds immediately – with priority: Crow > Wolf > Spiders.
- Occasionally, Typhon marks a player to charge at them. The victim should hide behind one of the pillars to avoid the deadly attack. However, there are fewer pillars in each phase.
- At 70% health, phase 2 starts. You have to deal with more adds, fewer pillars, and more victims of thorn attacks.
- At 30% health, phase 3 begins, with only two pillars remaining, four marked thorn characters, and even more adds.
Tip: Save all DPS cooldowns for the last phase to bring down the boss. Ignore the adds now.
How to solve the last puzzle
In the last puzzle, you must cleanse the circular arena with the water from a fountain. In the cleaned areas, you can then safely fight the monsters. Players with poison run into the blue cleansing bubbles, removing the toxin. Once everything is cleaned, you can open the door to the brood mother with two levers.
How to defeat the brood mother Medusa
In the final fight, multiple mechanics may rain down on your team at once, which can cause chaos. The mechanics:
- The flowers in the arena and on Medusa’s back activate and emit clouds that apply a stackable debuff to you. When this reaches ten charges, you fall asleep. Additionally, the flowers leave branch-like hazards on the ground that deal damage. All ranged fighters should shoot at the flowers to deactivate them.
- The brood mother charges random players, causing high damage. Avoid this attack and stay away from the sludge trail left by the charge. You can catch a DoT with the sludge.
- Regularly, volcanoes appear in the area that spit poison and apply a toxic, stackable DoT to nearby players. You can cleanse in the blue circle of the fountain.
- There are 4 of these fountains. From them, you receive balls of cleansing water with which you can remove the volcanoes. Each activated fountain triggers a cooldown, so you cannot use just one fountain repeatedly.
- Destroy the regularly appearing eggs before they can hatch adds.
- Once the boss has 30% health left, the fountains will be covered with vines, which you must clear first.
Tips:
- Pack amulets that protect you from nature damage.
- Clearly assign roles among the DPS: Who takes care of the flowers, who the eggs? Who retrieves the cleansing flowers for the volcanoes?
