What game is this about? Blade Prince Academy is a new role-playing game on Steam, scheduled for release on March 7, 2024. The game is being developed by the indie studio Angel Corp and published by Firesquid.
You play as the students of the Blade Prince Academy, who not only pursue their academic and social lives but also protect the city of Abjectalia from numerous threats.

What does the gameplay look like? Blade Prince Academy promises you a mix of RPG elements and tactical battles where you control a group of various heroes.
You are offered a pausable real-time combat system. This means that you can pause the time in combat at any moment to plan your next moves and actions or determine the best attack order for your group. This way, you can cause the best combos in battle.
In combat, several options will be available to help you emerge victorious. You can use your environment and push your enemies into unfavorable positions. Or you can inflict status effects on your foes and watch them lose while you just evade.
You will assemble the group for your battles yourself and adapt it to your play style. Each character you meet during the game comes with unique abilities and strengths. You must determine which ones suit you best.
What characters can you expect? In Blade Prince Academy, you will have access to a lot of different characters. The final number is not yet known. However, the trailer indicates that your team always seems to consist of four characters.
Three of them are already shown in more detail:
- Phoebos – The Prodigy: This character attacks his opponents armed with two swords. In the trailer, for example, you can see how he makes great jumps to strike hard or attack from ambush. With a powerful spinning attack, he can also strike multiple opponents simultaneously.
- O’ren – The Deadly Sniper: This sniper cat attacks his enemies with precise shots from long range. He can also fire area-wide projectiles or inflict poison on his opponents.
- Diamante – The Elemental Mage: This mage uses ice attacks to weaken and slow down her opponents. She can also heal burns with a spell.
Besides the combat gameplay, you will also need to take care of the social relationships between the characters. The closer your characters become, the more advantages it can bring you in battle.
