MOUSE: PI for Hire is an upcoming shooter on Steam, as well as Xbox and PlayStation. The game has an unusual look reminiscent of old cartoons. Now the developers have revealed a new boss and have thanked a star known primarily for his charismatic roles.
What makes MOUSE: PI special? In MOUSE, you play as former war hero Jack Pepper, who is now a private detective. You find yourself in Mouseburg, a city teeming with gangs, mobs, and characters from the dark side.
The game is in black and white and strongly resembles the iconic cartoons of the 1930s, like those of Mickey Mouse. In MOUSE: PI, you will need to uncover secrets, participate in wild shootouts, and face off against diverse bosses.
One of these bosses was recently revealed. The developers drew inspiration from a charismatic actor that many should know.
Henry Cavill served as inspiration
Why did the developers express their gratitude? In MOUSE, you must defeat not only the henchmen of the underground but also bosses who represent the gang leaders. One of these leaders is Reginald Shingler, a dapper, muscular mouse with a distinctive hairstyle. The developers introduced the boss, thanking x.com but also Henry Cavill, who was considered inspiration for this boss.
One might think that cartoon mice all look the same, yet Reginald Shingler indeed bears resemblance to the actor from The Witcher, especially when considering his role in the film “Mission Impossible: Fallout”.
His clothing, physique, and that distinctive hairstyle with the swirl are present. The fight against the boss will not be carried out with weapons, as seen in other trailers. Instead, it will rely on raw violence, with a preference for fistfighting. In line with this, there’s also a nod to Popeye, as the protagonist gulps down a can of spinach to build his muscles.
Is there a release date for the game? Currently, there is no exact release date yet. The game is set to be released in 2025, with the exact month and day still unclear. Fall or winter could be possible. MOUSE could become an exciting shooter, but until then, you can entertain yourself with other games of the same genre.
